They lied about the first-month renting being free, only to wait so long until the end of the month to finally approve you for the move in, so I'm already annoying and on top of that they lied about pricing of how much our move in total is and we had the money and everything agreed upon the price but last secound we didn't move in because of all the lies and schemes so be careful what you sign too because they won't mention to you a $250 deposits agreement until your money is missing so heads up looks nice but they will lie and be nice until your screwed over almost cost me my job because I had to move to relocate but thankfully I luckly found something better. read more

Update! We now have bed bugs in the entire building. I've been dealing with this for 3 weeks now. My neighbors have been dealing with it for much longer but I had no clue about this till the bugs reached my apartment. They keep giving me and the other tenants the runaround. Nothing has been done. I've had rats, mice and roach problems since I've moved here. Today when I was cleaning my sons drawers I found mice poop in two of the bottom drawers. I'm so sick of dealing with all this and not getting any help. Tomorrow I'm getting in touch with the health department because this is disgusting and I will not have my family living with this anymore. Well still have problems with the repairs and getting work orders in. Most of the times calling the office does not do anything, but waste your time. I called to report my kitchen sink was leaking and the garbage disposal is not working... and I called to check up on the ETA of the maintenance repair, and turns out they never put in the request. This is not the first time this has happened and it is frustrating with the lack of communication and follow thru with repairs. The maintenance team here is great... when the office workers actually put in the work order. I am not blaming Miguel and his team for the office personal's neglect. The parking is a problem here mainly because people who have multiple cars swap and keep their spot by the "musical chairs" method. I swear the same blue truck has been parked in the same spot for months between his Blue truck and his black Jeep. Doesn't seem fair when no one really regulates this habit. read more

I would rate 0 stars if possible. Don't move here. Here is my story and I hope I can save you headaches and money. In August of 2017 I met with Kevin, a leasing agent at this establishment. I expressed that I was looking for an apartment to share with my 2 roommates as we were in a bad situation with parking in our current place. I work in Universal City so I have a long commute and don't get home until late. During our tour Kevin boasted that there was more than enough parking and proceeded to show us rows and rows of parking. Mind you we toured on a Saturday morning and we were naive enough to believe him. He also showed us empty lots around the complex that were going to be ready for even more parking "very soon". 6 months later and after my car getting towed twice I have escalated the issue to corporate as management here was unable and unwilling to resolve this issue. When I come home I have to drive around in hopes that someone will leave their spot. I'm not alone in my plight, on any given day I'll see at least 7 cars circling the area trying to find parking. The tenants themselves have turned rude and inconsiderate. A man started a fight with me because I was waiting for the spot he was pulling out of but meanwhile he was planning on moving his other car into it. There is no end to these kinds of frustrations when it comes to parking here. I have offered to pay for a spot or an empty garage and they apologize saying they don't do that, but they have two spots reserved for the leasing agent who lives on the property. So, if you are looking to move here - don't! read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! We were here for only a year and we were great tenants the entire year! We made sure not to damage the walls and kept a no shoes policy in our home in order to keep the carpet nice. However, trying to contact anybody in this place is a complete nightmare. The rent bill wasn't delivered on time almost four months in a row so we had to keep calling the office for our rent amount. If we had questions no one ever followed up with emails or calls we made. Including calls that were made after we moved out! We had to practically call everyday in order to receive our pro-rate amount for our last month there. We had 5 people assist us in cleaning our apartment on the last day and we left it impeccable! We've lived at every sister property of San Canyon Ranch so we understand how crucial it is to keep things clean. Here we are a month after we've moved out and no one ever followed up with us about inspection, and now we're expected to pay almost $2,000 worth of repairs for the carpet!?! And a charge for not paying utilities? We were never notified of any of this despite us calling and calling about inspection and our total amount due. We were never i formed about missing utility payments and we always payed the amount given to us every single month. This was the worst experience ever and i would not want anyone else to have to deal with the hassle of being blindsided with charges after moving out. I lived at these apartments for 12 months. The one star I gave goes to Zachary, the leasing consultant. The rest of the staff is less than efficient. I had many issues when I stayed in this apartment community: the apartments are roach infested; the appliances are old and the a/c breaks all of the time; management is extremely rude; and do not notify when maintenance turns the water in the building off. It took close to six months to rid most of the roaches. Granted, they do have a provided pest control. But, it wasn't until I calked the areas these pests could get in my self, bought store bought products, and Pinterest DIY remedies that I saw the difference. My stove leaked gas and my a/c went out regularly. The assistant manager, Kevin, was not helpful and would talk over me when I was discussing issues. Lastly, my daughter needed to rinse off after she tried to play in her soiled diaper. Then I come to find out they turned off the water to fix a problem in the building. No warning or notifications were given. I would never move back here and I'm sorry for those who are stuck in their lease or do not have the means to move out. read more

My time at Sand Canyon Ranch was shadowed by a horrible roommate experience, however it was one of my favorite complexes I've lived in in Santa Clarita, and one of the cheapest! These floor plans work perfectly if you don't want to see the people you live with much, which I found appealing. I lived in one with a living room/kitchen in the middle and a room and private bath on each side. I never had any maintenance problems living here either. Sand Canyon Ranch is just far enough to be away from those busy streets, but close enough to town and perfectly situated close to the freeway without being able to hear it. I helped my friend look at apartments and we have to say that Sand Canyon Ranch is on the top of our list. It's in a beautiful location with easy access to the freeway. The Leasing Office was so cute and the lady Tonia was so friendly and helpful. She answered my friends questions and said she use to live there. The apartment she showed us was upstairs and had vaulted ceilings. The view was amazing. My friend held that apartment but we had one more to go to look at. Lived here for a year and we had a good experience. Parking was never an issue as long as we got home before 9, but even then everyone has a garage so parking shouldn't even be a problem as long as your garage is clear and not filled with junk. For everyone saying nothing gets fixed because they fail to answer the phones you should try going into the office! People are just lazy and expect everything to be fixed over a phone call. Maintenance always showed up right away but we never had issues we only had to call them twice once when we first moved in and another time when we were about to move but it was nothing crazy and they showed up and took care of it right away. We received most of our deposit money back, we didn't get all of it because we painted our apartment and the carpet was left a little dirty. Never did anyone break into our cars. Not once did we see the police there. The only thing that sucks is that the walls are super thin so you can hear everything from inside your house to your neighbors. We enjoyed living here you also get a really nice Mountain View. I'd recommend this place to anyone to call "home". Yuri was always super helpful and took care of us every time we needed anything. THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE!!! This place is not worth the deal you think you're getting. For starters, they advertise themselves as LUXURY apartments when they're not even close enough to call themselves that. They're old crappy apartments that have been there almost 30 years. I would give them no stars!!! If you end up in an apartment on the top floor expect a constant 80 degree temperature. This is due to poor insulation. The windows are paper thin and the AC and heater can never work properly. The appliances are outdated. No fridge and no microwave. The counter tops are always sticky from whatever they use to seal them. Our stove looked like it was from the 70's. Small and rinky dinky. The washer and dryers can only wash extremely small loads. You're lucky if you can fit 5 pairs of pants. And then you're scared that the machine will crash through the walls from tumbling in the closet area. You will have roof stains and leaks!!! They will not fix the problem. They will just paint over it and call it a day. And go as far as lie on the work order and say they did a different repair! This is followed by HORRIBLE management. They never answer the phone. I guess no one is ever in the office or cares to pick up. Don't even bother leaving a message because they will never call back. If by chance they do pick up and you leave a message with an associate for the manager, they will never call back. If you're trying to get ahold of the manager, it's nearly impossible. If you have a maintenance problem, they don't give two shits and it will take forever to fix. It took us months to fix FIVE stains on the ceiling and only after we were on their asses everyday. They change staff every couple of months. No one knows what is going on. The managers only work Tuesday though Thursday and no one else can really help you since they have no authority. The only person who was actually useful was the maintenance manager Esteban. He's the only one who kept me updated and personally took it upon himself to keep me in the loop. The cherry on top of your stay here will be your last couple of months. They fail to give you a notice before your lease expires. As well as never calling you to come and do a final inspection so they can charge you ridiculous amounts. They're currently expecting me to pay $800 to replace the shitty carpet that I left in good condition. On top of that, they WILL charge you $200 to clean and paint the apartment. I cleaned, washed and vacuumed before I left and left it in better condition than when I moved in. To say the least I will not pay this and am currently disputing it. During our stay they never once gave us a carpet cleaning even after requesting it several times. They never checked the carbon monoxide alarms or the fire alarms. I you're looking for a cheap place to live I would advise you to spend the extra $100 and go somewhere else. This is not a decent place to live. The area is nice and it's near a grocery store. You will get what you pay for. You will get a crappy apartment, with horrible living conditions, constant repairs, extremely horrible and disappointing management and customer service. read more

We have lived here for close to 5 years, while we have been saving to buy a house. We have never been late on rent. We haven't had any complaints, other than having too many plants on our balcony, which we quickly took care of. We declined to sign a new lease agreement, and opted to go to month to month due to the problems we have been having with the new office staff. They said that our rent would be raised because of going to month to month. However, when we got the bill in the mail it was the same amount. We tried to contact the office, without getting a return phone call. So instead of having the payment late, we paid what our bill stated. We then got an eviction notice a week later saying that we needed to pay the upgraded amount. It took us a few days to get the extra money, as now we were in between paychecks. We went in to pay the updated amount and Melvin wouldn't take our payment. He said that we had sent our account to collections. He said he didn't know what the amount we owed was, so that he couldn't take this payment. So let's recap, we try to pay rent twice and now are getting evicted?! We contacted them today to see if they knew the new amount and if we could pay rent. They are now charging us $75 late fees as well as $100 to get it out of collections, on top of raising the rent by 200 for going month to month!!! This is purely criminal!!! I have had problems with getting things fixed in the apartment. Having our daughters roof caving in and not having half of our house for a month, to not having a working sink for weeks on end. These people are criminal. I wouldn't NEVER suggest anyone moving here. Also their jacuzzi hasn't worked in years, the workout room is a joke and you have to pay extra to get a key, and they will have your car towed, to make extra bucks! DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!!! We will be getting a lawyer to fix this problem. read more

if you are looking for an Apartment to live, please dont rent at Sand Canyon Ranch, they have contract with towing companies and they tow away your car even if it for just a few minutes. They have a particular contract with a town company call LM TOWING, this company tow your auto in a second, they make so much money by doing this, I wouldnt be surprise if the management company gets kickbacks from these towing shark people.
