They sell firewood but it's slightly cheaper to grab it in-town. We heard coyotes howling in the night... cool and scary! Bring earplugs! There's a cute ice cream spot not far from here, would recommend checking it out. The nearby beach is lovely. There are parts which are a bit rough on the feet but most of the beach is very soft sand. Bring insect repellant though! The black flies on the beach can get a bit nasty. Lovely water for swimming, cold and refreshing.

Up till this experience, campgrounds have always found an overflow primitive spot to accommodate us. We only needed 2@ 3'X7' spots in the grass and we are out early the next morning. The Park Ranger was adamant that she was not allowed to let us stay, even though we had cycled 70+ miles. We explained that in the US we had always found campgrounds would accommodate hiker bikers who arrive on their own power. Obviously Ontario Province does not value camping cyclist.

It was great fun making natural wreaths and swags and learning many tips and tricks along the way. The Park Supervisor, who I belive is new this season is a wonderful woman named Pam who is a wealth of knowledge and has really helped make the park very beautiful this year. This place attracts many sorts of men but they all seem welcoming and non-judgemental. A safe and positive place for muscle men, chubs, bears, otters and everyone else. In normal (non covid times) there are always good company around the pool which was replaced this year with an even more beautiful pool. Bon fires, community centre. Come and party as hard as you like, or choose a remote corner and have a quiet nest. This place is everything you make of it. We love it and find waiting for it to open up again hard. Of course if you're looking for a bare bones provincial or national park experience, this might look expensive. For us, and our friends, it's a bargain... a whole weekend, entertainment included, for the cost of one night in a decent hotel.

Unbelievable lack of empathy during a medical emergency!…read more I had a fully prepaid booking at The POINT Resort for Aug 31. Two days before arrival, I ended up in emergency surgery for acute appendicitis. Obviously, I couldn't travel. I contacted them right away, explained what happened, and offered to send over my hospital discharge papers. Tom from their team just sent back a generic copy-paste reply saying "sorry, 6-day policy." No option to reschedule, no credit for a future stay, not even a partial refund - just a cold refusal. I get that policies exist, but this wasn't a change of mind, it was a sudden hospital admission. We didn't use any of their services, yet they kept every single penny. It's deeply disappointing to see a resort care so little about its guests when something unexpected happens. Proceed with caution if you book here - if life happens, they won't care.

As you know, COVID19 is here and has shut down pretty much everything! Although businesses are now open under strict rules, campground washrooms are off limits - even though campsites are permitted to open for business. The "new normal" is very different from what we were used to before! This year, we lucked in and found a trailer at an affordable price, so we can bring our own washroom with us! This was the 3rd campsite we have tried, and the biggest one of all so far (as well as the most expensive), although it obviously has no beach or waterfront anywhere near it. However, what they miss in the way of waterfront, they make up for in other ways: a full golf course; mini-putt; a petting zoo (some animals were absent because of COVID) (and you're not allowed to pet or feed the animals right now because of COVID); 4 pools of varying sizes; a bouncy jumping thing (not a castle); volley ball courts and tennis courts; and about 650 campsites. The place is massive! They have many many very impressive seasonal rentals, which have beautiful gardens. Downside: there is very patchy / non-existent internet available out there, although you can pay a fee for access once you're inside the park and registered. In fact, internet was so bad as we were approaching the site that we got lost on the way there! Good thing someone was still there to answer our call for help and guidance! As it was, we just made it under the wire with five minutes to spare. Another downer was the price; this place is double in price than the other 2 we stayed in previously. Spots were spacious enough. It was very busy and crowded when we were there; obviously the locals love it here. It's very popular.

Owners Jodie and Don were really nice and accommodating- they were working hard to get the pool open as it was Memorial Day weekend. Nice little fishing pond out front and the kids and adults were all out there catching little blue gills. The park is only a 20 minute car ride to Presque Isle which is an awesome bike ride and there are lots of restaurants and pubs. There are lots of permanent residents but everyone was friendly. We took a day trip to Niagara Falls to do the Maid of the Mist- it's about two hours away. This is not a fancy park but I would highly recommend. We are a big rig hauling a trailer and it was easy in and out.

The campgrounds are well maintained, roads are gravel and each permanent trailer spot has a good size plot of land. You feel comfortable enough to spread out a little and enjoy. As a community people are friendly and there are lots of families and the sounds of laughter and general good mood. The facilities include a splash pad that is extremely impressive, a heated pool, a playground, a natural pond, a hot tub, a picnic pavilion, a general store, a volleyball court, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, an outdoor chapel, walking trails, activity rooms and children's activities on the weekends. For weekend campers they also have washrooms in site. This is a great campground.

If you come with a motor home and have a friend take you out and back in, you MUST park and walk to the office and pay each time. Bernice is a treasure, but the old guy with an attitude says this is the rule.

It was clean and ready for us when we arrived on Thursday.I Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool but it looked very inviting. We cooked, used the fire pit at night, even though the cabins are close it was quite at night to be able to sleep. It's was like staying in one of the tiny house that you see on TV! You have to bring your own linens, towels but I'm OK with that. There are pots, pans, coffee pot, toaster, plates, silverware so it all worked for us. I would stay here again and recommend it to others going to the area. Oh the only thing that was a challenge was the bathroom mirror! If your 6' or taller you'll be able to use it other wise bring a mirror! ; )
