Unfortunately, the experience raised serious concerns for our family. During the weekend following surgery, there was no on-call provider available, and repeated attempts to reach someone from the practice went unanswered. As her condition worsened, we were left without guidance or support at a critical time. We ultimately had to fly our daughter home to Wisconsin for emergency care, where the implant was removed and a gum tissue graft was required due to the damage. Both Wisconsin providers involved in her follow-up care independently shared concerns that Dr. Wierus's charting was incomplete and contained inaccuracies, which complicated her treatment. Based on what we were told by subsequent providers, we were also informed that aspects of the original procedure did not align with the standard of care they would expect for this type of surgery. This was an incredibly stressful, painful, and costly experience for our daughter and our family. I am sharing this so others--especially families navigating care for students living out of state--can go elsewhere.

I came here to share my experience in hopes that it helps someone else…read more I scheduled an appointment because I was having significant pain in one of my teeth. I was already fairly certain I needed a root canal. I chose this office for two reasons: They had a perfect 5-star rating with 179 reviews (looking back, this should have been my first red flag). They were listed as in-network with my Humana Dental PPO plan. The staff was very kind, accommodating, and reassuring, especially since I was extremely nervous. They took X-rays and confirmed that I did need a root canal. They returned with a treatment plan and told me my insurance would not cover the procedure. They said my insurance would only pay $341 toward the crown, leaving me responsible for approximately $2,200 out of pocket. Because I was in a lot of pain, they offered financing through Cherry. They told me they could get me in as early as 9:00 a.m. the next morning, but to reserve the appointment I had to pay at least half up front. They explained that paying half would create two separate Cherry financing agreements and recommended that I finance the full amount instead. Since I was in pain and trusted what I was being told, I agreed and financed the entire $2,200. Before leaving, I asked why my insurance wasn't covering the treatment, since insurance companies usually provide a reason for denying a claim. The receptionist looked at the information and told me it said, "No information provided," and that I would need to contact my insurance company to file a claim myself. On the drive home, I spoke with my husband. We reviewed my Humana benefits and discovered that the treatment codes for my root canal are actually covered at 80%. I immediately called Humana. The representative was surprised because the dental office had never submitted a predetermination of benefits. We then merged the office into a three-way call with myself, Humana, and the office staff. During that call, the office repeatedly avoided submitting the predetermination and instead kept transferring us around and saying someone would call us back. Eventually, my husband became involved and firmly insisted that they submit the predetermination to insurance. Instead of doing that, the office manager suddenly canceled my Cherry financing, despite previously telling me that canceling it wasn't possible. I can't speak to their intentions, but this experience raised serious concerns for me. I was told my insurance wouldn't cover treatment when no predetermination had even been submitted, and I was encouraged to finance over $2,000 before my benefits were properly verified. Thankfully, I questioned everything before having any treatment performed. I can't help but wonder how many patients, especially elderly individuals or those unfamiliar with insurance, simply trust what they're told and move forward without realizing they may have other options. I would strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to contact their insurance company directly, verify your benefits yourself, and request a predetermination before agreeing to any major treatment or financing. Or just stay away all together...

I have never seen an establishment act so unprofessional…read more My wife worked with pelican dental to get her wisdom teeth removed and some cavities fixed. Scheduling was problem number 1: these people messed up 3/4 appointments. After the first bit of work was done and when we rescheduled my wife walks in on a meeting during I suppose lunch hours? They apologized and told us to leave which lost us work for no reason.. Then we come back and are told the appointment is fine, she sees the dentist and one of the 2 ladies working on my wife's teeth say to the other: "hey you feeling any better? Still can't sleep and got the sore throat?" DURING FLU SEASONNNNNNN!!!!!! WE ALL GET THE FLU THE SAME DAY INCLUDING MY 80 YEAR OLD GRANDPARENTS. I'm not sure why but we came back again! My wife was just getting over being sick and the exact same dentist says "hey your throat is red I think you're sick and I can't work on you and risk myself" my wife simply said "well you're going to because you guys got me sick, now I cant sleep. I have a fever and my throat hurts. Sounds like what you guys had on my last appointment!" Then they both silently finish the job!!!! I wish this was it but no, we come back in for another follow up because she cut my wife short due to being sick... Then they mess up our appointment again!!! Directly blaming me an some old dried out blonde woman blames me over and over again aggressively and I informed her of all their prior mistakes and that an apology would be appropriate in her shoes if she wants a job. She apologized and I demanded a written card with the time and date this time. The time says 1pm. We later get emails requesting that the appointment be changed to 7:20am we did not reply as that doesn't work for us. They changed it to that time anyways. We called same day at 7am and told them heck no. They said well how about 12:10pm. It's all so confusing and ridiculous... We show up they are on the same page as us and do the work. My wife tells the dentist about the situation crying and she pities her, just to reach check out and be told the final payment for her wisdom teeth (total being around $750 with a standing balance of only $70 remaining" is now being charged to $1,750 and that the quote we were given was false. They sent it to her insurance and it was apparently declined months later. So now we have a new balance. I know this insurance is in their network and they are willing to cover this procedure. I was in shock. I immediately thought about how they can't even schedule properly so they definitely just didn't ask for pre authorization orrr maybe it wasn't filed correctly. I was shut down and informed why I'm wrong like everything else, I was told I should have known this prior to the quote. I finally stand some ground for my wife and pipe up after allllll this trouble. I come in asking what the hell is going on and I'm told well you're not the patient I don't have to talk to you. I simply said I'm the car and the money woman. When I speak I will be listened to. Simply. Another assistant comes over. A big lady with a horrible attitude tells me she'll handle this. I ask her if this can go to collections, she said no absolutely not. I asked well can I record you saying that? She says yes. I begin to record and she sits there silently and says I will not say it. My wife, the staff and myself all look around in shock. She argues with me like a sibling for maybe 10 minutes making it almost personal to herself and never once touched the computer to help us do anybting. So I got very rude. She argued till she was blue in the face and smirking scoffing etc and I told her you keep scoffing and you're gonna have a 3rd chin. Suddenly they want police involved.... What a shocker. You argue argue argue... lose, then need police because your feelings are hurt. Funny how someone can do their job so poorly they make you upset. You can explain that you weren't upset the first 3 mistakes but 4 mistakes and a surprise sum of an extra 1,000 dollars is something to be mad about. Here at pelican preserve the customer is always wrong though! Even if the front desk is a sh-show Hence the 1.8 star rating they have! To sum this all up the dentist herself comes over. She explain she's not the best with English but that she's sorry and that the people up front are new and she'll have this figured out for us tomorrow (today as this was written) Do not spend your money here. Do not waste your time here. It's a joke. I will not be paying that ridiculous balance. I will not stop here. This place will be exposed if they don't clean up their mess immediately. If I do not receive a call today the better business bureau, and my lawyer will be hearing from me very soon. I know my options and I have time and money to burn. Does pelican dental know their options? Also left a few screenshots of other reviews claiming the same issue.

And then after hearing my no, they said there is no time for cleaning now and that I must return to do routine cleaning. If you didn't have time to do routine cleaning why waste 10 min discussing invisalign at all? Also, if you call the front office number they dont' pick up. The phone call goes to a phone answering company who makes zero effort at communicating with front desk people. So then when you get there on the day of appointment front office people have to do all the work about getting your insurance info all over again which then delays the appointment time so much that they only do xrays and then they ask to return to do routine cleaning even though delay is not your fault. Also, if you call again to make appointment for the next day to do routine cleaning no one again picks up so you have to physically go to the front desk to make appointment. This time not even the answering service picked up the phone.

In April, Dr. Padilla performed imaging, agreed it needed removal, and told me to obtain a referral per insurance. For nearly six months I submitted every document requested over many faxes, emails, and calls -- getting responses literally felt like pulling teeth. On 9/30, after confirming receipt of the final document, I was told Dr. Padilla no longer accepts Medicare. This is cruel and cost me half a year without treatment for a potentially malignant condition, a serious lapse in timely care. All of the correspondence over months was solely about getting things for insurance and they decide on the last day they are no longer working with my insurance; what are the odds. I have records of my outreach and plan to file complaints with the Florida Board of Dentistry and Department of Health. Patients with urgent health needs deserve better; delays of this magnitude can have serious consequences which I hope is not my reality

The entire office appears to run with a level of professionalism, warmth, and efficiency that immediately put me at ease. The atmosphere was clean, modern, and calming, and every member of the staff made a conscious effort to ensure I felt felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. A huge part of my positive experience was Julissa, the dental assistant. Her skill level is exceptional, and her calm, reassuring presence made a world of difference. She explained what was happening in a clear and patient way, checked in frequently to make sure I was comfortable, and handled everything with confidence and precision. It's obvious that Julissa is highly trained and truly cared about my comfort. She has a natural ability that made me feel relaxed during the procedure which, for me, would normally be nerve-racking. Dr. Guak is equally outstanding. Her expertise and attention to detail were immediately evident, and she took the time to thoroughly explain procedures, options, and next steps without ever making me feel rushed. What really sets Dr. Guak apart was her ability to combine top-tier clinical skill with genuine compassion. She has a calm, steady demeanor that instills trust and helps eliminate fear. I felt confident knowing I was in expert hands. Together, Julissa and Dr. Guak make an incredible team. They worked seamlessly, anticipating each other's needs, and create an environment where I felt safe, respected, and completely at ease. What is usually a stressful experience turned into something surprisingly comfortable and reassuring. If you are someone who feels anxious about dental visits I wholeheartedly recommend Ford Signature Dentistry. Their commitment to excellence, patient comfort, and professional skill truly sets them apart. This is a practice where you are treated not just as a patient, but as a person, and that makes all the difference.

The place was extremely upscale and all his staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Trettenero was very pleasant, friendly, and made me feel comfortable and at ease right away. He then asked the assistant to get the X-rays needed. This office was equipped with what seemed to be the most updated technology necessary for any situation. The X-ray machine was amazing, like nothing I had ever seen. It only took moments and we were done, back into the room for review. Dr. Trettenero sat with me, explaining what we saw on the monitor. There were 3-dimensional rotating views, and views showing layers of each upper and lower. And all turned out better than I imagined. No cavities, I just needed an adjustment to align my bite. Afterward, Dr. Trettenero cleaned my teeth and said all looked good, I'd been doing a good job. He was very gentle while doing the work, and cleaning was the easiest I ever experienced, anywhere.
