This review is not for the doctor but for the multiple communications with his support team. A…read moredoctor may think this unfair but when your care team is sub par it does reflect negatively on the doctor. Sometimes unknown to them and sometimes because they do not care. I am not sure where it falls in here. I have phoned at least four times in the last few years. I had an acoustic tumor that grew aggressively (not a norm for this type of tumor) into the brain stem. I wanted to get another opinion because I have had 'inconclusive' on the final reads (whether there was additional growth) and I wanted to make sure I did not get into another life-threatening situation (my first surgery was emergency with a 2% chance of survival which I thankfully survived). I would get sent to the voice mail of his nurse at which time I would get a follow up weeks later. Cut to now a few years since I phoned and got the 'inconclusive' read on my last MRI (with and without contrast) but now with a possible sign of growth so, again, I phoned Dr. Kellys' office only to be told he does not deal with Schwannomas. I was never informed of this in prior communications with the office (which is odd). I always stated what type of tumor I had and reports and scans were sent. Then his nurse said she was forwarding my information to another doctor that deals with the aforementioned type of tumor. I never heard from them. Then, maybe three months later (or more) I got a call from someone that did not say their name (just stated Pacific Neurosurgery) and called from a private number. Just to reiterate, this is now 1/3 of a year later. Buyer beware.

At the time, I was completely at a loss as to what was causing my annual sinus infections and constant early morning congestion. Dr. Mehdizadeh was incredibly thorough. He took a detailed history, performed a comprehensive exam, appropriate testing and diagnostics, and was able to get to the root of the issue. Fast forward 7 years later, and I have only had 1 sinus infection since becoming his patient, and the congestion is no longer chronic. That alone speaks volumes. I still continue to see him from time to time for various ENT concerns, and every experience has been professional, insightful, and met with top notch care. Another major plus is how easy it has always been to get an appointment sooner rather than later. They have parking, which is a huge bonus in Santa Monica. He was straight forwarded. There wasn't a lot of talk (until we were walking out). I went in to listen to my lungs and check for pneumonia or bronchitis. He examined me, heard some of the symptoms , and then prescribed. I do wish that he had spoken to me more about prescription and options. I actually had some questions later on about it, did my research, and then did a video follow-up with a doctor. Dr Lee is a competent UCLA Medical School trained doctor. I just would've liked more conversation about what he was diagnosing and prescribing. The location is a bit hidden and the construction in the area isn't helpful. The burger place they use as a landmark is closed. The alley looks closed due to construction but it is open. I found out later that you enter the alley and head to their free parking lot. The front door is on Broadway. Final Word: It served its purpose.

She never hurried me or spoke down to me, and answered every question thoroughly in language any patient could follow. The double hernia operation was so minimally invasive as to allow me to enjoy the pool in a day and gently float to get active. I'm a high-mileage cyclist, a major part of who I am now. The Good Doctor gave me my life back to the normalcy I needed to return to the bike path, which I did in two weeks as instructed. I am so happy; I truly can't contain myself and feel obliged to mention ad nauseam to friends, family, and on our podcast about my experience. If you need a top-tier surgeon who teaches other surgeons on the robotic Da Vinci machine, look no further. I can not recommend her any higher. Clearly, Dr. Pakula is in a class of her own.

I really appreciated how thorough she was and because I was feeling lightheaded, she checked my blood pressure laying down, sitting, and standing. I got my bloodwork results 2 days after my visit -so speedy! This is such a nice location and there are plenty of places to grab a bite before or after your appointment. There is easy parking in the garage and it's free for the first hour and a half. This experience reminded me how glad I am that I am a One Medical member and what a comfort it is when you're not feeling well to be able to easily book an appointment when there are locations close by.
