As we…read morewere entering New Mexico, a nice woman pulled up alongside our RV and motioned we had a problem. Unknown to us, we had a rear flat tire on the towed Honda; incredibly, I was unable to feel it driving our RV. Ultimately the tire was completely shredded. Had it not been for the nice woman who stopped us and also stopped, we might have lost our rim at the very least. I changed the tire on the Honda with the included "donut" and made our way slowly to Mesa Tire. I cannot say enough nice things about the folks there! They were able to change the tire without us having to remove the Honda from the tow dolly. But, most importantly, the charges for a new tire, balancing and changing it were more than reasonable. We were stuck and they could have taken advantage of us, but they didn't! I hope the locals read this and support Mesa Tire to the fullest! On our next trip out West we are going to make a point to stop by and thank them again for their honesty and great attitude.

The wheel bearing on my nieces SUV started failing about 10-miles outside of Raton, NM and got drastically worse by the minute. With ~4 mile to Raton we hit the flashers and crawled along the shoulder about 5-mph until we reached his shop. We were an unexpected repair to add to his already booked calendar, but he was able to fit me in after verifying the parts store had what was needed. In about an hour he had the car repaired and we were on the road again to make the delivery. He and his team didn't have to take on the extra work, but he knew we were in a bad situation we couldn't control and he was able to fit me in. You took an extremely stressful situation and literally made it go away. We are EXTREMELY grateful and can't thank you enough for getting us back on the road. Turbo blew up on my truck (Ram 3500 2019) near Raton NM, had turbo sent off to be rebuilt by Turbo…read moreTime (Fantastic Rebuilt Turbos') Anyway D&T put it back together and I picked it up and 1/2 hour into my drive back home I could hear a funny nose from under the hood and exhaust break sounded funny. Called Donnie said a clamp must have come loose or flapper wasn't working, so I turned exhaust break off. Luckly, I made it back home Houston and took my truck back to Dodge. Come find out, only 1 bolt out of 4 was holding on newly installed turbo and clamp came off Turbo and booster tube. Called Donnie about this and he said he give his crew the spec for torquing turbo bolts. Dodge mechanic said there's no way a torque wrench with socket would fit to tighten those bolts. So, I got charged $3400 and have to have everything re-done again. Donnie the owner of D&T doesn't back his work up. I called to ask for $1000 refund out of $3400 and he refused even though everything he installed was done incorrectly and lied about torquing my turbo bolts. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. They do shotty work and don't back up their work once you leave.

I took my vehicle in for a minor repair. Three months and a lot of badgering later I finally got it…read moreback. There was dirt all over the floorboards from someone's muddy shoes. Now the "Check Engine" light is on and I don't know if it's a real problem or something they did. Furthermore when I drove under a bright light I realized there is a crack in the top of my windshield and the rear view mirror looks like it was knocked off and quickly put back on. I can't prove the window damage was done by the mechanic but I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before. I will never go back.

I noticed a sign that says, "If you buy your own parts, there will be 15% added to the labor" which was a definite red flag in hindsight. The issues started when I called in to get an estimate. They said they could not send me an estimate to my email of everything itemized. They just offered a total figure. Upon asking them to breakdown the costs individually, they ended up trying to charge me $2900 for the radiator when a fan, fan shroud, radiator and hose all together costs $3300 when he fan shroud for my Pete costs $900... You can figure out how much they mark up their prices. When asking Jeff and Kelly about the breakdown of how much the labor costs (which goes by a set amount of hours from the book) they initially told me that it was 6 hours... But because I wanted to buy my own parts, the cost was now 8 hours. If I'm not happy with it, I am more than happy to have my truck towed to Peterbilt in Pueblo... Ok so let me break this down, because I'm not letting you make a million dollars off marking the parts up... You're saying now it suddenly takes more time to fix my truck and now the amount per hour also goes up? These guys are out of their mind. When I called back the next day to just have them tow my truck like Kelly suggested, Kelly threw a hissy fit and said that they refuse to tow my truck and that I will have to find someone else to tow it for me. This is the absolute last time I go here again for a tow or repair in southern Colorado. I wouldn't recommended my enemy to go to Kelly's towing for water if he were to be dying of thirst in the Sahara Desert and he was the only game in town. You have been warned about their deceptive price practices. Right down the street there are definitely honest guys at J&M Tire and Towing. Their labor is cheaper, its a bigger shop, better work and they're honey guys that aren't trying to take advantage of a situation and making a million dollars off of you.

The part needed is no longer manufactured, no one in town could help me and I thought I would have to postpone my 900 mile trip. I stopped by Kelly's as a last-ditch effort and they immediately began troubleshooting both trailer and truck. The mechanic on duty was Robert and he's pretty amazing with his abilities, skills and great attitude! A part was quickly delivered and I watched Robert expertly rewire, test and finish the job like a pro. I was expecting to pay an enormous bill so it was a surprise when the total cost was so reasonable! I was on my way in less than two hours, a happy camper! I would trust this business for honest, high quality work.

On a Monday I called JM tire about a car rental. They told me it's available come on over. Later I was told the car wasn't ready and needed to be vacuumed and an oil change. On Tuesday I was told it wasn't ready, but they were starting on it and it also needed a wheel alignment. But it would be ready on Wednesday by 10:00. On Wednesday I was told it wasn't ready because they were still working on it and it also needed brakes. I wasn't told when it would be ready. A few of the locals told me the Raton has changed for the worst. They go out to eat or to the store and don't recognize anyone. The saddest thing I heard was nobody helps or cares about their neighbors. I'm just a visitor who wanted to see my son while he's at a boys scout camp 30 minutes south. If Lewis does not want $300-500 dollars of business or whatever the charge would have been, that's fine. Next time just say "sorry it's not available". JM is listed as the only rental in town, I guess that's wrong. I do not recommend nor would I do any business with JM.

I found out they could repair my vehicle and it was a Sunday afternoon so I had to wait til Monday and they called for the part Sunday and I had my vehicle back and running by 11:30am on Monday. They even dropped me off and picked me up from the motel. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful, especially JR!!! Thanks you all made a stressful situation as pleasant as could be. Price was Great also. I called another repair shop to get a quote and they were going to charge more and couldn't get the part they said for 2 weeks. The state trooper who stopped on the side of the road to see if I was okay recommended them and I definitely would as well!
