Then I met one of workers who helped me out and gave me a wealth of knowledge about everything from whiskey to sake. I wish I would've grabbed his name, but unfortunately I didn't. Although it is a bit pricier than the states, there were some pretty good sales going on. Plus the store is super organized and offers everything from local Canadian Staples like Molson Canadian beer, craft beer from local breweries, whiskey's and sake's and everything in between. Only downside is a bit lacking on the mixers. Highly recommend coming here.

It has been a few times when I am wandering through the store looking for a gift. Today, I was probably one minute in the store when Francis approached me to ask if I needed help. He had a paper in his hand and I knew he was in the middle of something. Regardless, he answer my question about a wine for my boss and made a recommendation. Disappointed, I mentioned that unfortunately the wine was sold out. He ask me if I could wait a couple of minutes while he was going to get three bottles of his recommendation that had jut arrived. I mean, this is the definition of goin above and beyond. In the mean time Angelo, another staff that happened to be restocking the BC wines was also helping me. I want to say this is the best liquor store with the most helpful, kind, and knowledgable staff. I then asked Jerry, at the cashier if it was possible to speak with the Supervisor. Jerry very kindly called the supervisor and took me to her. Candy, was the Supervisor in turn and she was so appreciative for the acknowledgement I expressed about the unparalleled service at this store. Thank you so much for all your kindness, help and consideration. It is always such an great experience to go to this store

Interior is consistent with the other Signature locations. Somewhat modern, though it reminds me of a Safeway. I guess the only complaint was that the prices were wrong for some of the items that were on sale. I would've been out a few bucks if I hadn't checked. Knock 1 star off. No other spirits store comes close, regardless if they're a BC Liquor store or an independent wine and/or liquor shop. In every way, this particular store has them all beat. First, it's located centrally in the Ironwood Plaza, so there's a ton of free parking here. Nice! Next, it's humongous. I like the other reviewer's analogy to Costco. This place is akin to a warehouse. Smaller than a warehouse, perhaps, but cavernous still, and nicely apportioned, with clearly designated sections, wide aisles, and good (not glaring) lighting. It's super big. Selection in every aisle, of every kind of liquor, is huge. And there are ample sales (clearly visible by the yellow signs). And there are recipe cards for various cocktails posted sporadically (and they the kind with photos, and on pads on the shelves by the spirits needed, and you're encouraged to take a copy). They had the biggest selection of spirits I've seen in Vancouver, no question. And there were tons and tons of beers and ales and ciders, too, both refrigerated and not. Prices are reasonable for Vancouver standards. (Let's face it, it doesn't compare to the liquor prices at my old Costco's in the States or the wines at Trader Joe's. But for Vancouver, they prices are competitive). They have events like tastings here (there was a schedule or calendar of events at the Customer Service desk). And more recipe books for cocktails (for free). And lots of smaller sized liquor bottles (note to self: GREAT stocking stuffers here for Christmas!). Lastly, the staff are GREAT. One lady showed me where the sangria was located (and they had 5 or 6 different types. Other stores usually have none to one type). One lady helped us carry all our bottles and cans to the cash (there were too many for us to carry. One could say we got carried away with the selection here). The cashier was friendly and we chatted about other spirits stores and the area. Interestingly, the lady behind me in line, when checking out, asked for "car service". So I presume that they will help you with your purchases to your car. Nice! This is a super store. Just wish it were located closer to Downtown Vancouver!

The selection at this store is quite incredible. You'll find local wines, Island spirits, craft…read morebeer, and a dizzying array of Scotch and other types of liquor. I found the staff to be quite knowledgeable about the products that they had available. If you're not sure, just look at the staff picks by name on the shelves, and ask that person for help. I was able to pickup a few great Scotches here that aren't typically available at BC Liquor stores.

Once I entered the store was pleasantly greeted by an attendant Jess and she was super helpful recommending an array of beers, wine, and spirits from their vast selection. Being an independent liquor store they offer unique international alcoholic wine and spirits you cannot find at your local BC Liquor stores. The store is so new that their payment system is not even set up to collect the deposit fee which is an extra bonus. YVR employees get a 10% discount on everything in the store and they offer a members reward program (no membership fee) which earns 1% on every dollar spent (example: spend $500 = $5 reward towards next purchase).

Fours stars for a typically dull off-sales... Say what?…read more Well... I learned a valuable lesson over the weekend. That the little stores sometimes get stuck with "random" bottles of wine that they can't sell to their regulars. So there we were loading up from their limited selection of REAL ciders and we (OK, so it was Crystal H) noticed a 2005 Razer's Edge Shiraz sitting all alone on the shelf. Uh........ "Holy Sechelt", I yelped. The elusive '05 RE. That is an incredible bottle of wine that I searched out in Vancouver 4 years ago with very limited success. I miraculously found one in a BC liquor store and cellared it for three years. And when I finally opened it last year... well, lets just say there was some magic happening at the dinner table. Back to the lesson at Lighthouse. Of course I bought their lonely bottle. And it is likely that it's already peaked in taste. But who cares. What a find! Support the little guys, and you just never know what you may discover.
