Then after eating my sandwich, I said "lets see if there desert matches the same energy" didn't disappoint either , cheesecake was heaven on earth. Highly recommend checking this restaurant out. A carne veio no ponto certinho! [ENG] Okay, it had been a really long time since I ate a burger in SP and reacted like: omg! That's what happened. I took a long time to visit Z Deli because people always said the space was too small and always crowded. Besides that, there ir no air conditioning, which can be pretty annoying in SP's summer. That's why the restaurant doesn't get a 5-star rating. But going back to the delicious part of this review, the burger is truly amaaaaazing! I ordered one called Minetta which has cheddar cheese and caramelized onion. The meat was exaclty medium well as ordered and bread was slightly crunchy with a little taste of butter. LOVED IT. The pastrami sandwich was little bit dry, wasn't that into it. Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of fois gras, so I didn't get the famous foie gras burger. However, all of my friends that tried really really really liked it. The regular fries are great! Crunchy and not at all oily :) the fat fries are good, but they get kinda soaked in the sauce, so I prefered the other ones. There's also the pink lemonade, which I thought was bit sweet since it contains "groselha", a really sweet Brazilian drink. I often go back to Z Deli, but try to go on not so busy hours or just get a take out :)

Yelp Review 2025 #162:…read more Despite Anthony Bourdain not being around anymore, having watched his shows that I still rewatch til this day, I make it a mission to try places he's been. He has not steered me wrong so far. As soon as I landed in São Paulo, I hopped on a taxi to have my first meal in Bar do Mane with bags in tow. I got here at 11am and they still had plenty of empty tables - they do take up a lot of space in Mercado Municipal de São Paulo which means more tables and chairs for their diners. Scan the QR code that's on the table to see the menu. I already knew what I wanted to get so, I waived one of the servers over to place my order. There's only one thing you SHOULD get from here anyway: their famous mortadella sandwich...ok, maybe, try their bacalhau too. Under 10 minutes later, I got my food. Mortadella Sandwich: They come in 2 sizes: regular and large. Trust me, the regular sandwich will fill you up. If you're sharing with another person, get the large. Layers upon layers of thinly sliced mortadella with melted gooey cheese on top that you can literally see melting towards the layers of salty mortadella - all on a soft bun. The sandwich comes pre-sliced which makes it easier to share or take the other half home/ to your hotel. They're generous with the mortadella. The sandwich is about 48 Brazilian Reais which is under $10. The cheese is incredible. It's a squeaky kind of cheese even though the color looks like it's cheddar cheese. I asked for a box for my leftover. They boxed it up for me and put it in a bag. I ate the other half the next day - cold. It would've been better warmed up for sure. Most hotels don't really have a microwave unless you're staying at an Airbnb or an apartel. The service was ok. All you have to do is wave somebody over if you need anything. Sitting there waiting for things to fall on your lap will leave you sitting there for over an hour.

Came here for the super hyped mortadella, an Italian cold cut that is best described as luxurious…read morebologna. To me, it was a little too salty and too meaty. But that just might be how the sandwich is. I got the small (there's a large option too) but it took me two meals to finish it. I also got a strawberry juice, which was fresh and countered the salty taste of the meat. This restaurant is located in the Mercado Municipal - a large, historic market in Sao Paulo for its cold cuts, fruits, and other stalls. Staff is sweet and prompt and service moves quickly.

I initially just thought this was a juice bar which would have been just fine for me, as I love a morning lemon juice (no sugar!), but this place has so much more! It's also got a great selection of salads, some nice egg dishes, some delicious Açai bowls for your daily superfood dose, and even KOMBUCHA! Service is super fast, so it's perfect for a quick lunch. For my entire time in Brazil I visited here every day and brought no less than 20 colleagues here - and if I'm ever back in the neighborhood I know I'll be right back here for a juice, snack, or healthy lunch.

Madureira is like a Rio-inspired healthy version of a diner. I honestly don't know how I haven't…read morereviewed this place yet. It's my go to hunger killer any time of the day. For breakfast enjoy delicious Açai bowls (a must try for all foreign visitors), a little bowl of scrambled eggs with a side of fruit salad or their version of French toast in which an egg is fried to your liking within the hole cutout of a piece of toast and then topped with requeijão, an extra creamy Brazilian creme cheese. Also worth trying is the crazy monkey sandwich made of banana, cinnamon and a special "healthy" cheese (as though cheese could be diet, ha!). Super health nuts will appreciate the mashed bananas with oats and honey. For lunch they have a lot of great sandwiches including a tasty veggie burger. You won't be tempted to get that side of fries, since they don't sell anything fried. They do however sell non greasy empanadas which make a great afternoon snack. My favorite is the carne picante. The juices are not to be missed as part of any meal but especially refreshing at mid day is a chilled coconut cut open on request. Foreigners should note the menu separation of Vitaminas (smoothies), which are quite thick and often include Açai or sorbet, and sucos (juices) which are usually filtered to a quite thin consistency. For dinner the platters are nutritious and filling. I think the baked white fish with salad is the most popular version for the post-gym crowd, but I am also a fan of the sweet potatoes or the veggie burger patties (comes without the bun). Basically this place is a vegetarian, gluten free and gym addict haven. But beware those desserts! I can say from personal experience that tasting that cheesecake should be done at your own personal risk. I think it's on the list of foods that I would request for my last meal. The bolo de banana integral while not as crave-worthy is also pretty good and meets the criteria of desserts that I actually believe are healthy. The only dessert, and actually menu item come to think of it, that I didn't love (after two years of quite devoted patronage) was the recently introduced gluten free cake, unfortunately really dry and flavorless. Beyond selling great value for money healthy food, the service here is super fast, theyre open pretty late, they deliver and they have an English menu (not that I need it anymore but great for visitors). And for extra super duper bonus points Madureira regularly gives away the pão de queijo that gets too hard from sitting in the front case for too long to the local homeless people. How can you not love them!?!?

The place has a revamped 50s feel with white tiles on the walls and the waiters all wearing sparkling white jackets. Frevos speciality seems to be the sandwiches with over 30 different types of sandwiches. The thing that put me off at first was the price of the sandwiches, starting at 30 reais for a large sandwich. And 18 reais for a small. But at this price cross over Paulista and head to Jardins and get myself a juicy steak for some of the prices at Frevos. But SP can be expensive so you can't be complaining too much about the prices; as long as the food is good. After asking the waiter what is the best sandwich on offer, he suggested the Beiruth, the first and original sandwich on offer. The sandwich was made in what seemed to be simple bread with roast beef, cheese and oregano. A very simple and easy sandwich to make. The only flavour that I could taste was the oregano. The roast beef was extremely dry and the artificialness of the cheese didn't help the overall dryness of the sandwich, which in return needed a lot of ketchup to give the sandwich some flavour. The sandwich seemed just to be a way to fill my stomach with some nutrients, but for that I could have gone down the road to a launchonete and ordered the same sandwich for much cheaper (and probably a better experience). It seems to be at Frevo the best thing is the decorations of the quase return to the 50s.
