Tremendous selection of fresh produce. They pack a lot into a small space. I read an interview with…read morethe owner in the local paper. He grows most of the vegetables and what he doesn't farm himself, he gets from local growers. Both he and his local suppliers use organic growing principles. All the vegetables and fruit were fresh and delicious. They even had a bag of fresh peeled garlic cloves. Made my life easier!

The ground coffee and espresso aisle is by far the best of any market in the area, with a variety of Cuban-American, Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Colombian brands. There are always deals and specials going on for coffee. The produce section is another highlight. This is only of the few places in the area that you'll find good quality platanos, yuca/cassava, and any kind of tropical fruit. The slight downsides are that the prices are often slightly higher than a regular supermarket, and there never seem to be enough cashiers working.

Many of the stalls were empty and even though I did see a sign for the event, that, too, was empty. I did, however, patronize the Tea-For-All and The Pie-d Piper stalls for breakfast and they were lovely. Very warm and welcoming people working there. I asked the locals about their recommendations so I will be back to Trenton Farmer's Market. And, I saw some stalls that I wished were open. I'll give it another shot.

We treated ourselves to some kick ass ice cream - I went outside my usual coffee / pistachio / chocolate choices and went for mint chip and it was DEEEELISH. Their displays are Instagram-worthy, and in their big barn they had old country trucks decorated with tons of pumpkins and gourds for the fall season. Thankfully, I was correct - this store was infinitely better! Lots of bargains to be had. Lots of things that look like bargains but the packaging or quantity is just smaller. You have to be sharp wandering the aisles but that's what makes it fun. They have brand names and generics. The best part is that the stuff you do ostensibly recognize is slightly...off. Like it's a flavor that you haven't seen here in the states but you know the item. Check out the picture of my haul, por ejemplo. We all know Manwich tomato sauce in the can but have you ever heard of BBQ Bourbon flavor?? Well they have it in Mexico and it has made its way to Trenton.
