It's a nice decent park to walk around if you don't mind kids/adults playing football in the field, pets running around. Best time to go is first thing in the morning when they open the gates or mid lunch time is best to beat the crowd. If you want to take your lunch/dinner maybe breakfast to an area away from busy places this park is nice with plenty of parking around the park and trash can bins to throw away your trash.

This…read morepark features greenspace, which is paved on the outer edge; a pavilion; and 2 very long slides. The walking trail is shaded, and it consists of 2 bridges separated. From start to finish, it is only 0.8 miles, and it usually takes me about 10 minutes to walk it. I like to take my dog here on warm days since it is much cooler on the trail. The first half of the trail overlooks a really dirty pond that is filled with tons of turtles. It's peaceful but makes me wonder how the turtles are able to survive in the dark chocolate water. The second half of the trail ends in a neighborhood. If you are looking to get your steps in for the day, you can circle the green space. Overall, it's not the most impressive park. They definitely could have put more thought into the cohesiveness , but it gives the locals a nice place to enjoy nature.

Some of this is nice and submerged in Nature with lots if greenery, flowers, streams and the river. Unfortunately, it is overshadowed by I75, power transformers and other ugly sites.

The entire splash pad was on a 3-5 minute timer and shut down which was a little bothersome but then again it was also environmentally conscious. Not all of the water toys were operating. This looked to be new construction. There were free restrooms / changing rooms on the premises. We were glad to come here on a hot August day and have other kids to play with. There are benches near the dressing rooms in the shade and near the fence line in the sun. There is no life guard on duty here or a custodian keeping watch. One of the parents was smoking on the premises (probably a no no). I don't know if this will last very long, but common sense dictates that you probably shouldn't bring food here either especially alcohol. I don't recall seeing any signs with rules but to preserve this for your community I would adopt those from your local swimming pool to be conscientious and respectful of this precious resource and your neighbors.

There are outdoor concerts here, permanent art installations and a number of memorials to past military and a famous politician. One special feature is the slide which is probably really nice some times but today was a little filled with trash. And no, this isn't the cardboard pieces that help you have an enjoyable ride. You do need something to reduce the friction or it's not much of a "slide" after the trash is gone. There are some picnic tables and grills. It's very nice. And the cement slide is so much fun!!! It goes pretty quickly! And it is very difficult to walk back up the slide itself as the cement is smooth...but there are the actual stairs and grass to be used. For…read morefifty years this land was home to Chester and Rose Evelyn Minor, their children, and one grandchild (me!). Chester and his two sons built the brick split-level themselves. Rose maintained a large garden many of those years, and the yard was studded with fruit-trees. The house survived two floods that destroyed the contents of the basement, but the flood of 1994 swamped the house in 5' of muddy water... high enough to flood the upper split story in a foot of water. The damage was too extensive and the property was sold to the government so that it could become this lovely little park. Enjoy!

Only problem is no one cleans the park. Alot of trash threw out the park, broken glass, beer bottle tops, nasty condom's, bathrooms are dirt & toilets are broken! Bathrooms lock up before 7pm even tho the sign says from 7am till 7pm.. Has doggy bag stations with no bags in them. No direction signs to where the trail starts up again in the middle to get to the other side. Some dogs run off leash even tho there are leash laws. Graffiti along the park & trail along with broken wooden sitting stools.. Teenagers running wild usen bad language as if they don't know any other words and doing as they wish. There is a sign that says the park belongs to one of the collages but yet I never see them out there cleaning the park up.. No phone number posted to rent the pillvions.. Could be a five star park if they cleaned the park up... Get it together fountain lake park.. Keep the parks clean and safe for us to use..
