Out in NY Harbor on the new board!

We were in the market for some SUP boards and were directed to Brandon at Sandy Hook Kayaks. I described what we were looking for and he brought it to the beach so we could test ride them. He got it exactly right! Brandon and his staff at Sandy Hook could not have been nicer and more accommodating. He has also followed up several times to make sure we were still enjoying them. I give them my highest recommendation!

Go now. Best ever! Took my special needs son here to paddleboard. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Kevin was incredible. Knowledgeable, patient, and so kind....not to mention easy on the eye for the ladies. It's run by three brothers. It's a family operation. And it's fantastic. We will go back many times. And again special needs friendly. That means a lot. My son said it was the best day of his life!!! Great staff, top of the line equipment, prices very reasonable, and perfect location.

Brandon did a fantastic job explaining how to kayak and went out with me on the water for an hour.

They have ferries leaving from West 39th Street or Brookfield Place to Belford, NJ. Or, you can take a ferry from East 35th Street or South Street to Sandy Hook Beach, Atlantic Highlands, or the Highlands. Though departures and returns are not that frequent, they are scheduled in such a way that it makes a day trip to any of those four locations easy and convenient. The ship is clean and comfortable and round trip tickets are also only $49. The ride is only 40 minutes each way compared to a 90 minute drive. It was a real time saver. Many of these low reviews are from people using this company as a commuter ferry to some of their other destinations. This is not an option I would rely for that with their infrequent departures and the possibility of a delay if I am on a tight schedule. But for a day trip to the Jersey Shore, it's perfectly fine.
