Super cool teachers with a lot of knowledge and skillful instruction for all levels. Matthew in particular leads really thoughtful classes with intelligent sequencing and simple, effective cues, plus modifications when appropriate. It's obvious that he's deeply committed not only to the practice of yoga in its entirety, but also to the safety and well being of his students. He'll challenge you in the best way! Carmel's morning classes might get you on your head or they might open your hips, but whatever the day's focus there is plenty of detail paid to proper alignment and to individual achievement, so I always leave feeling accomplished. I have taken a barre class, Pilates, and barrelattes, which is a mix of the two. I recently took their barre crawl class two days ago. I am a member of ClassPass, so I paid $25 for the class. I arrived 10 minutes early. As soon as you walk in, they take your name and ask what size t-shirt you want. The t-shirt was so cute. It said "Meet Me at the barre," and it was a gray tank top with white lettering. I thought it would look very cute, but I didn't put it on because I like to wash everything before wearing it. Almost everyone else put on their t-shirts right away, except for about three other women. They had a choice of small, medium, or large. The first part of the evening was the barre class. Everyone got their shirts and went in for class. A woman with blonde hair helped me. She could be one of the owners or instructors, I'm not sure, but she was extremely helpful. She gave me a resistance band and a ball and helped me get the correct form. I really appreciated that because she noticed I was doing one exercise incorrectly, and she explained that it was why my back was hurting. The class was challenging. I would rate it about an eight out of ten, but I liked it a lot and definitely plan to come back. Everyone in the class was friendly. I don't usually talk to people in exercise classes because I'm still trying to build a regular habit, so I didn't know everyone, but the atmosphere was very welcoming. Part of the evening included little sample cups of smoothies. There were three different types and some snacks, which were nice. After class, everyone went over to the bar in the same shopping center, but I went home. Overall, I loved it. I've been to this studio a couple of times, and every time I enjoy the class. The instructors are very kind, answer any questions, and help you work on your form. I definitely recommend this studio. I almost forgot: After the workout, I saw many women wiping off their workout ball with hydrogen peroxide spray. So, this was a courteous and healthy gesture to do for the next guests. I look forward to my next class there!

The class schedule at Blue Moon is bigger, with more offerings than other studios, both in terms of the number and the types of classes they offer. New students be aware - they offer a special of 4 classes for $40, quite a deal for the area! Other class packages are also relatively reasonably priced, and the owner and staff are extremely friendly and eager to work with whatever your special request is. The studio itself is a bit on the smaller side, with curtained windows on two sides. So, no mirror, if you're looking for that. But if you'd rather avoid a mirror while practicing, or find that a mirror interferes with balance in some poses - this is perfect! Both times I've been so far the classes have been at max or close to max capacity - I wonder if this means they may outgrow this space? Hmmm.
