Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. They've set up a kiosk with a black chair where you can either take a selfie or photo of someone else for Instagram. It comes with a cute frame around it already. Ready for posting. Can't forget all the gifts! Toys, plushies, miniatures, croc charms, bags, scissors, etc. So many gifts, and a large selection of Sanrio, yet it's not a Sanrio store. There is an entire display of just Sanrio pens, made in Korea, at $3.99 each. Probably not a good idea to bring your kids into the store if you want to be guaranteed not to make a purchase. My kids picked a bunch of overpriced things out and when I went to purchase them the old woman was so rude. Did not greet me, pointed at the credit card machine over and over in an overly obnoxious way and didn't thank me for my business. And mind you, I spent over $100 on random stuff we don't NEED. That does not make me want to go back. There are far better Sanrio stores and stores that sell Sanrio products out there. For over 30 years, I've been making gift baskets for unhoused and homeless children. I've seen some…read moreadorable stuffed animals over the years, but when I was in Joanne's Fabrics, I saw an avocado stuffie. I have never seen a stuffed avocado. I will definitely be including them in my gift baskets for children from now on. They are colorful and playful and soft. That is the winning combination of a perfect stuffie. The interesting thing is that I also bought three avocados mini purses so I will have an avocado themed basket. It was meant for me to find it because it was the last one in the store. I will be visiting Squishable tomorrow.

However, my twin sister is an absolute fan so when she recently came down to visit I mentioned to her about this little shop. Looking at it from the outside, it looks like a really cute boutique. Unfortunately we were both disappointed when we walked in, it looked a bit depressing. I didn't realize that it was connected to the comic store next door, not that it was a problem. But it took away the whole feel to the place. My sister didn't find anything she liked, and coming from someone who is a fanatic I don't think that's a good thing. We came by right before closing time, maybe that explained a bit of the unwelcomeness. Either way, the owner should think of adding a bit more decor to make the inside a bit more appealing.
