All day been raining and we are a long haul back from buckhorn Canada to Hamburg NY. Our favorite ramen place closed on Sunday so we decided to just stop at the mall. This place at the mall somewhere. As luck would have it, the entrance we choose is where this restaurant! It's a really small place. When we came in there's only 2 workers! One as waiter, hostess and clean table. The other is cooking. Luckily we don't wait all that long for the food considering only 2 of them. The broth is very flavorful. We shared the tonkatsu black. It has very good garlic flavor. Very rich. It also has standard chasu which is tasty only it was very thin and only 2 slices. The eggs cooked very good, also has the fungus and green onions. It gets me to Conspiracy Comics, Torrid, and Tanghulu. Between the two sets of doors is Sansotei Ramen. For a while, I have flagged dropping by this ramen joint. I decided to have an early dinner after work a couple of Wednesdays ago. Parking is much better on a weekday. I got a spot between Walmart and entrance 9, and walked over. I walked through the door after reading the helpful sign to push it. Push it real good, according to Salt-N-Pepa... haha I was immediately greeted by a woman who would be my server. She led me to a table and I got a menu to peruse. A male staffer was chowing down and a woman behind me was almost done eating when I sat down. It was quiet and nice. A group of three women came in towards the end of my stay. I am normally a miso or shoyu broth person. I looked at how creamy the tonkotsu looked and wanted it. I got it with thick noodles and corn. I also got a Diet Pepsi and gyoza. The former came first. It came in a cup. The carbonation was nice. It tasted crisp. It was cold. I loved it. My ramen and gyoza came together. It was different, but I was fine with it. The gyoza was excellent. The filling was delicious. Each wrapper held everything together. It was pan-fried perfectly. The dipping sauce made each gyoza yummy. I loved the tonkotsu ramen. I normally don't like the smell of tonkotsu. It was different here. The pork smell was down to a minimum. The broth was creamy and full of body. I loved it so much that I drank the whole thing. I have never done that with tonkotsu broth ever. I got thick noodles. They were chewy and bouncy. So good! The chachu was excellent. I got two decent slices. They were so yummy with the egg, black fungus, and green onion. The corn elevated this bowl of ramen. I have been thinking about this ramen ever since. It was excellent. I paid for my meal at the counter. I used a credit card to pay. I tipped and tapped. Done! I used the washroom before I headed into the mall. It was was a single stall for everyone. It was clean and inviting. I particularly liked the complimentary sanitary products for women. I recently tried this ramen, and it was quite satisfying. I ordered the spicy tan tan and my wife ordered the tonkatsu black. Both broth was rich in flavor which made every sip enjoyable. The noodles were cooked perfectly--not too soft, with just the right amount of chew. I appreciated the freshness of the toppings, especially the tender pork and perfectly cooked egg, which added layers of texture and to the quality of the bowl. What kept it from being a full 5 stars was that the broth, while flavorful, was a bit too salty for my taste. I also think the portion size could have been a little more generous for the price. Overall, though, this ramen hit the spot and is definitely worth trying if you're a fan of bold, hearty flavors. I'll definitely be back for more! Love that Mississauga has a Sansotei location. Since their opening, they've always been a busy spot. Located by an exterior door, it's easy to get directly to the restaurant. However it also means their dining room gets awfully drafty every time people enter and leave. It can be quite frustrating, especially if you're seated near the door. This has always been an issue here. And it could be rectified by adding a curtain or another divider - which is a typical things seen as small restaurants that have this problem. Hope they'll fix. Other than that negative, everything else is great. The quality of food is on par with their Toronto location: fantastic ramen broths, noodles, and sides! Yesterday on a cold winter day, I visited for a hot bowl of body-warming ramen. I tried the Tomato Ramen for the first time (usually I go for the regular Tonkatsu) and it was REALLY GREAT. Great balance of ingredients and the tomato broth didn't feel too acidic. My side of fried chicken karaage was fried up nice and crispy while the interior was juicy. Topped with fresh lemon juice - it hit the spot. My friend really enjoyed the new Tonkatsu+ too. Will be back again for sure! read more

This location has been my most visited place out of all of them. The broth is creamy and savoury, chashu was juicy, and the portion is very filling. Love the atmosphere here. It's like I got trabssported back to when I was in Japan. Service is epic and fast, I GOT MY ORDER IN LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!!! Stopped in while in transit to Toronto, the location uses Yelp for reservation- but patrons cannot use the Yelp app to remotely reserve a table- patrons must arrive to the location to enter information and reserve. Table wait time was 10min, we had an estimated for 11-26 on the Yelp app. Received text message and was provided a table. The location is efficient for space, really easy to sit two people but large parties will be a struggle. Washroom is accessible, orders are made via QR code but location has hits of waves occasionally. Before pandemic the location had frequent fire alarms that were almost normal that patrons and employees were undisturbed. Ordered the $12 simple order with char su over rice. Service was frequent, but back to the cramped layout of the location even the server was bumping tables as patrons were served. :/ read more

It was packed around 1pm on a Saturday and because the tables were close to each other, we decided to come back later. We quickly got a seat around 2pm and we felt more comfortable. We got the Tonkotsu Black and Tomato ramen. I was surprised to see the portion bigger than other locations (maybe it was the bowl?). The tomato soup was surprisingly rich and good. This is my all time fav ramen place. Sorry the pics could be a lot prettier but I got hungry and started eating then realized I forgot to take pictures! The gyoza which is your pan fried pork dumplings are my fav appetizer with a light sweet soya sauce. We also tried the slow cook spicy wings. It was fall of the bone in a spicy soya sauce, it's sooo good! We got the tonkatsu black and miso black ramen with thick noodles. Black means black garlic oil which gives the broth so much flavour. Our experience at Sansotei Ramen mid-November was a little hit and miss. Came on a Sunday about one hour from closing and they placed us on the waitlist and squeaked us in right before the kitchen closed for the night. We were hungry by then so we ordered the gyoza and zangi to start. The gyoza looked pan fried but was not crispy enough on the bottom and was really oily. Also the zangi was uneven in the seasoning. My piece was super salty while my friend said hers was bland. Apps were a miss. The main meal was a win though! I had the Tonkptsu Black, which had chashu, black fungus, egg, green onion, garlic oil and your choice of thick or thin noodles. I went with the thick noodles as I like my noodles more aldente and it came perfectly. I loved the deep flavored broth , the deliciously chewy noodles and that it came with eggs included. Main meal were a hit! During our first couple bites of noodles, the kitchen was closing so we quickly ordered mango cheesecake to finish. We were full by the time we finished our ramen bowls, so it may have been a good thing we ordered while still hungry or we would have missed out on the dessert! I got the black garlic tonkatsu ramen and it was quite delicious. The broth was flavourful, there was a good amount of meat, and the noodles were nice and bouncy. The egg was quite perfect as well. Walked in, and the host indicated that there is an issue in the kitchen and that Ramen would take about 30 mins. Ok, I was with some friends, so no big deal. Ordered some drinks, orders some appetizers, all came out quickly. We ordered our ramen at the same time as the appetizers, and it was more like 20 mins and out bowls were in front of us. Delicious as always. Overall, Hard to go wrong with any of the Sansotei locations. Server & food are very good. Didn't have to wait for a table, likely because the host was telling folks it could be a wait to get ramen. Nice atmosphere in this location, and high praise from my two Japanese friends (from Japan) who hadn't been to Sansotei before. They both thought it was excellent ramen. read more

After spending some time finding it the mall, I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of this location. The staff is wonderful and the music and colours of the restaurant make it so that you feel comfortable in a modern decor. They do their best to acclimate as many people as possible with their seating arrangements for their limited space. I got the Tonkotsu Black ramen with thick noodles. noodles cooked perfectly nice and andante And the rich flavours of the garlic oil is amazing. i also got the zangi fried chicken. I went here on Monday. It was such a good timing we came since we were the first one to dine in. The place is so nice especially our server! I didn't get the chance to ask for her name. Me and my boyfriend ordered miso black ramen with extra corn in it, and extra noodles on the side. We were a little hungry but turns out, we were more than hungry haha! We also asked for deep fried chicken. They are sooo good, fresh and it was such a great timing to eat there since not only we were at the mall but the weather is getting a little cooler. It's nice to eat something that makes me cozy and warm inside. The experience was great, i highly recommend you to try this place out whenever you are around square one area. My favourite is the tomato ramen. The large piece of scallop fits so well with the rich tomato soup. You also have the ability to choose thick/thin noodles. Sansotei is also in an acceptable price range (cheaper than Kinton). For side dish, I recommend Zangi (Japanese Fried Chicken) to share. They fry the chicken on the spot and it comes out hot and fresh. Sansotei is frequently compared to its rival - Kinton. In my opinion, Sansotei is much better than Kinton. Kinton's soup base is unbeatable, but Sensotei's ramen taste and quality are equally delicious. Sansotei's ramen bowls include many other ingredients. For example, eggs, shitakes, bamboo shoots or green onions, which Kinton would instead charge for extras. Being located right at Square One and near one of its entrances, it is very accessible with plenty of free parking spots. The waiting is through an automated ticket system which is very good (you don't disturb the diners, and no big line outside). While you wait, you can shop at the mall. However, the restaurant is quite small (with no place to hang coats during winter) with crowded seats. The ramen also leave you quite thirsty after. Overall, it is my default ramen joint, especially to warm up during the cold winters. read more

Some of the most amazing ramen I have tried in Canada and the US! The portion sizes are very generous. The flavors are spot on too. We got the following: 1. Tomato Broth Based Ramen 2. Black Tonkatsu 3. Fried Chicken (side) The tomato-based ramen was unique. I loved the taste! It's not my cup of tea though, so I would opt for a more traditional option. If you never tried it though and are looking for something new, I would recommend giving it a go. The Black Tonkatsu was amazing! The broth was very flavorful, the meat was tender, and the eggs were well-cooked. It was gone too soon :( The friend chicken side was very good too. They were tender, not too friend and the dipping sauce complemented very well. Regarding ambiance and service, it was top-notch! The servers were really friendly and quick. The interior is very cute, whether you are coming here to grab something quick or bringing a date. The menu is very minimal, unlike many other Ramen places where I get overwhelmed by the options. Every now and then, they do have different specials, so I would recommend looking out for them. Overall, a must-try if you are in Square One. The ramen comes in only one size and it's a great sized meal. Ordered the black garlic tonakotsu. The garlic over powers the soup so I'm going to try it without next time. It's pretty good, I enjoy the food but it's not crave worthy. Appetizers menu is small here. What else is small is the super small dinging area. Came here for late lunch in between shopping with a friend. I've only had ramen once before so I wasn't sure what exactly to order. The menu was small and I didn't understand what everything was. Luckily I opened the Yelp App to check photos and reviews before deciding what I wanted. The waitress was also as helpful as she could be. I ordered the Tonkotsu Black without the fungus (mushrooms). I actually swapped it for corn instead which was amazing! The pork bone broth is delicious, especially with the added garlic oil. I wasn't a fan of the pork belly slice as it didn't have much flavour. If I could just drink the broth everyday, I'd be in heaven. My friend ordered the Spicy Tantan and said it was the best Raman she's ever had. Better than the other popular Raman places nearby (Kenzo Ramen & Kinton Ramen). The only negative thing is the restaurant is quite small, and you'll sit near other customers quite closely. My daughter loves ramen soup so she treated me to this sq one location. It is an extremely busy place, clean, with good decor. It is not a big area so you feel everyone is sitting to close to each other but somehow I didn't feel it, we were so busy talking and enjoying our soup. We ordered Shoyu ramen and spicy tantan. I liked the spicy one and enjoyed it. We also ordered a rice bowl with beef. It is tasty but a little on the sweeter side. Since then I've had CRAVINGS for their Tonkatsu Black. Funny thing is, I didn't even get the Tonkatsu Black. All I had was a couple sips of my friend's broth and I fell in love. I have thought about getting my own bowl ever since. Just over a week into their opening, I was able to pay the square one location a visit. To my surprise there wasn't even a wait! Okay, there was but it was literally 8 mins. She put my name down at 6:22 and told me to come back by 6:30 lol. I hardly call that a wait. All the girls working there were super friendly. This was my boyfriend's first time at ramen. He decided not to get a soup but instead was interesting in the gyoza. The gyoza came out super fast. It was delicious! Nice flavour and texture. Pretty much all you can expect from gyoza. My tonkatsu black came out 10 minutes later and boy was I excited. A few sips of that broth and I was doing my happy dance. Soooo much flavour. I opted for the thick noodles, which was a good size for me. The chashu here seemed thicker than the Markham location, which is fine with me! I prefer it that way. Stopped into this place for my first taste of authentic Japanese ramen. I ordered a bowl of Tonkotsu Black Ramen with some bamboo shoots added to it. Loved it. Went with my bf on a Sat night around 6pm. There was a waiting list of course but we got in after 20 minutes. First thing I noticed are that the tables are very close together. Service was good, and Tonkotsu Black Ramen was delicious, but I wish it was more salty. Gyudon ( beef and rice) was a perfect pairing, and the zangi was OK. Would go again and try the other dishes. The food here is so-so but the staff just really lacks strategy and customer service. We're 11th on the waiting list with what looks like more than 4 tables for 2 available inside. Waited for more than 15 minutes but no ones coming in to occupy the vacant tables and the list isn't even moving. Why are we doing a waitlist then wait forever for those who are not there physically to eat???!! If you're not physically there to eat, cancel them and not let the others who are patiently waiting to just stare at the vacant tables. You need to get more competent staff and not just a bunch of teenagers managing the place. Photo shows empty seats when we waitlisted and we're now 1 hr before closing and we've been here since 7:40PM, already 8PM and still no people occupying those tables. Update: we were seated an hour after we waitlisted. Called out the staff about our feedback and they were basically just telling us that what we witnessed with our own eyes weren't true. We asked the what the waiting list time is and they said it was 5 mins. When we told them there were a lot of table vacant and the list isnt moving, they said they were waiting for the party of 8 who were the next in line i the waitlist to come. We told them that that table for the party of 8 has been empty since we arrived and that they've been empty for 30+ mins before the party arrived. They were not acknowleding any of that.
