i got a chocolate croissant, frappe, and cappuccino, the croissant was good but not very warm and honestly nothing that special, the grape said it came blended but it was just iced and they honestly might've given me the wrong drink and i do not recommend that drink, the cappuccino was good but again nothing super special i have had better in the city. I read this was a really good cafe and was excited to try, it's below average i would say. Skip it and try one of the other cafes in rome! we sat outside and the street is pretty busy, the tables were very close together but all full, and a bike tour group went in after we ordered so it was a little busy but the service was fine again nothing special read more

I took a sip of his cappuccino and I was hooked. It was sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious. Order your drinks and pastries at the counter and then take your ticket to the barista. Sitting down at the cafe costs extra. Or, you can also order your cappuccino to-go. Service was also quick and friendly. If you are in Rome on a hot day, there are more options to "iced sweet treat" than just gelato. A "granita" is an Italian version of a sorbet except with coarse crystals. A "granita di caffe" is one with coffee and what Italians considered "real" frappuccinos. They are known for their coffee drinks with a good amount of hot or iced options. A few hours ago I had the best dessert of the entire trip, a granita at nearby La Casa del Tazza d'Oro. To this day that is my gold standard for an iced coffee drink. The rules for these kind of shops are that you make your purchase first, then take your receipt to the bar where they'll make your drink. Service was good and the ordering process was easy. While this is a well known coffee shop, I much prefer the granita at Tazza d'Oro. I think that the quality of the coffee had much to do with the final product as the bitterness of the coffee should complement the sweetness of the creme. In this version the coffee was a bit bland so the final product tasted flat. read more

I came to this place because everyone said it was a must with the best coffee. I was disappointed and expecting a bit more. I think the ambience had a lot to do with it as well and maybe if things were a bit clearer than I would give 4 stars. When visiting, you have 2 options: sit down and order coffee or order coffee inside but you cannot sit down outside. No one told us this when entering and after we got our coffee we tried to sit down and they told us no, even though the seating is for their cafe. When I ordered inside, no one tells you to give your ticket to the bar in front of the register and than they make your coffee, which is a bit confusing. The man on the register was the nicest, but the rest of the staff leave a bad taste in the mouth. I'm not sure if it was because they were busy or not. In regards to the coffee and food, cannoli was good and different with a nut/honey shell and vanilla filling. The cappuccino was ok, but I had better coffee in other places. I did buy the coffee grounds to taste and see. The other coffee my group had, they said it was ok. If your on a time crunch and debating on visiting this place I would skip it, but if you have time to kill, definitely go and try it. read more

The coffee here is a slam dunk and I'm grateful Mo and me went out of our way to get it after a big morning walking around Rome. Order at the pay counter then bring your ticket over to the bar to get your order. The barista will ask if you want sugar or without. The moretto is unique and fantastic but even just straight espresso is great. The cappuccino was ok but definitely not worth 2,90€ for a cup Not to mention there is a 5€ covers charge if you want to sit (and like the other reviews said, they don't tell you about this when you pay) The maritozzo was AWFUL, the bun wasn't fluffy and the whipped cream had no air in it. Excellent Cappuccinos! Service is friendly enough. Upon entering, pay first at the cashier to your right. Once you have paid, go to the counter on the left and hand your receipt to a gentleman behind the counter. You can either sit outside, with waiter service or stand at the counter inside, without waiter service. This cafe is walking distance from the Pantheon, so if you're visiting the Pantheon don't forget to stop by this gem. The cappuccino here was delicious. So much depth of flavor and smooth. They have a restroom in the back, which I was very grateful for. It can be difficult finding restrooms around Rome. They also sell lots of goodies you can take back home with you. This is what espresso in Heaven must taste like! All of the hype you've heard is 100% true -- this is without question the single best cup of espresso I have ever had in the world. Yes, the world's best. If you love coffee, make this your first stop in Rome. I literally shed tears in the street on my last night in town, that's how much I miss this coffee. I had about 14 espressos here during my weeklong trip. If you show up later at night, it won't be as crazy (they are open until 1 am most nights, which in itself is worth a star). Try to go in mid-afternoon and it is complete and utter chaos! Go to the register and pay. Take your receipt to the bar (easier said than done). You will have to elbow your way up to the front and be prepared to wait! If you plunk your receipt down on the counter with a little incentive (a 20 cent Euro coin seems to do the trick), you might get ahead of everyone else. Seriously, ordering here is NOT for the faint of heart. You must have patience and you have to be a bit tough! My husband, who is NOT a coffee drinker, ordered a couple of the 'nom nom' drinks and they were phenomenal as well. He had a hot chocolate type drink with whipped cream on top and a classic cappuccino. Both were amazing. And the espresso -- oh my! I don't know how they get the crema SO frothy and thick but it's insanely good. Do as the locals do and take your spoon to dig out the last bits of creamy goodness after you shoot your espresso while standing at the bar. The little 1 Euro pastries here are good too; the mini croissant looking things are the perfect marriage with their coffee. I love the ones stuffed with chocolate; they are crunchy, not soft as you would assume. I cannot stress this highly enough -- order EVERYTHING you could possibly want while you are at the register. Go ahead and order TWO espressos, you will not be sorry. And remember, you MUST order your coffee without sugar if you don't want sugar. All drinks automatically come sweetened unless you specify at the counter. And don't sit down at one of the outdoor tables unless you really, really want to -- you will pay (a lot) for the privilege. So so crowded here! It is a very good sign though! It is packed with locals, or at least all Italian speakers. :) We were able to buy expresso beans and two tiramisu coffees! You pay for your coffee on the right with the gentleman at the register and then you wait until you can grab a spot at the counter to hand your ticket to the employees there. They made our caffe tiramisu within 5 minutes. They were pretty busy! The flavor was really good. Sugar on the bottom, coffee in the middle and cream on top with cocoa powder sprinkled on top. The coffee was really bitter and strong for me so the sugar on both ends were really good to have! Beware, the tables outside cost 5€ more to sit down. My housemates and I decided to stop by this caffe on the way to orientation at school, and I am so glad that we did. The coffee is amazing, smooth, and the pastries are melt in your mouth yummy. You first pay at the register, keep your receipt, and bring it over to the bar where the baristas will ask if you want sugar or no sugar. They also have to-go cups which is convenient if you're on the go! Then you either pay to sit down or you can eat/drink standing up like how orthodox Italians enjoy their coffee. I have returned four times, all amazing as the first experience. I have had their little pastries filled with custard and chocolate (very good!), the layered nutella one (also good!!), and have tried some chocolates. Before I left Rome, I made sure to buy their bags of coffee and caramels covered in coffee chocolate to bring home as gifts. I will be back! read more

Classic coffee house with delicious coffee. We stopped into this place on our "insiders trip" to Rome (with a classmate of mine who lives here). It was packed full of tourists and locals alike. We ordered cappuccinos and drank them at the bar looking a historic photos of notable personalities like Henry Kissinger. Couple of tips are the following: (1) the coffee comes with sugar in unless you ask for it without sugar, and (2) you need to pay for the coffee first and then present the receipt to the bar attendant. I asked the locals where they go for coffee and this place was the one that kept coming up. We went there upon our arrival into Rome and it was a small quaint place. I spent nearly €20 here on coffee related products because the espresso I had was so good. They have liqueur​, beans, chocolate coffee products, cups and more. Order at the counter and take your receipt to the coffee side to get your drink, they'll ask if you want sugar or not. I never liked espresso before trying the 'gran caffe' here but this was AMAZING and creamy, not bitter or acidic like the stuff I've tried in the states. Classic Roman coffee shop is a traditional shop while in the city. There is always a massive line but there is a way around it! Grab a table outside. Sit down enjoy the city and people watch while your waiter brings you your café and pastries. There is an up-charge if you sit at the table but it's around 10-20% more and makes for a great experience. The café shop is hidden between buildings so defiantly plan to gps there or ask a local for directions. They also sell espresso machines and ground espresso you can take home which I suggest! Makes for a great gift. Pastries were very sweet and flaky. My espresso (tiramisu) was awesome, very authentic and tasty. Don't forget it's cash only! No worries though, if your out of cash there is an ATM in the building directly across from the café. read more

When we opened the chocolate a few blocks later we found a worm inside the chocolate, with the imprint in the chocolate covering. What a fab place for my first cappuccino cafe in Italy! I couldn't sleep because of jetlag so I arrived around 8am on a Saturday. Not busy at all! You order from the counter on the right, take your receipt and give it to a barista on the left. They'll ask you if you want sugar, depending on what you got. As a note, it costs money to sit down so just stand at the bar like all the other locals for the full experience! They also sell a lot of pastries there but I didn't try any. I got the Gran Cappuccino with some added sugar and it definitely got me on my caffeine high. No one really rushes you to finish your drink but maybe because there weren't too many people there when I was there. It was definitely a solid coffee place so I'd recommend if you're in the area! Go early if your jetlagged too to avoid the rush! They also sell a bunch of merch and some coffee beans to bring back! read more

This is the spot in Rome for the best espresso and cappuccino. The secret must have been in the water , coffee bean which was kept secret for ages. Once you get in, pay for your order at the counter and you'll be served on the other side of the room.
