    Oscars Tree Service

When I was a kid, my grandma, who lived in New Mexico, sent our family a ristra in a care package…read moreonce. I loved how cool it looked but eventually my mom tossed it. On my many trips to New Mexico, I always wanted a ristra but never had any way to get it home. On my most recent trip to New Mexico, my husband and I came prepared with an empty large suitcase. I wasn't sure where to get a ristra but luckily Reddit steered me in the right direction. I had found out about Oscar's Tree Service from an old Reddit thread where someone asked where they could purchase a ristra in Santa Fe and this place near Taco Bell was suggested. The day before Easter, I was able to call to confirm that yes, they do sell ristras in the Spring and they had them in stock. I swung by and they have SO many ristras for sale in various shapes and sizes. You can get untreated or treated ristras depending on if you want to eat the dried peppers one day. I settled for a nearly 5 foot long ristra which ended up costing $72 including tax. The guy who checked us out was so nice and bagged it up for us because we were flying home to Las Vegas, Nevada with this ristra. It took up an entirely empty, large, hardshell suitcase as checked luggage. Less than 5 peppers broke in transit and were caught in the bag they packed the ristra in so we didn't have a mess of seeds in the luggage. My husband and I definitely want another one the next time we're in New Mexico. Great product and great service! Last visited: April 2026
