They did an inspection on our chimney. They said we needed a liner. I expected them to call to set that up. They did not so I called them. They said someone would call. No one ever did. It is not my job to chase down a company to give them a big piece of business. read more

I had been using the other company that does chimney cleaning for years, they cleaned a fireplace and said I needed a metal insert for the chimney because of breaches in the chimney, they quoted over 5 K. This was for a rental property, I called the tenant to inform him that he could no longer use the fireplace, because I could not afford to install the metal liner for the fireplace. My tenant suggested I try Casey's , because he had received the same high quote from the other company for a chimney insert liner at the gallery he has on Canyon Rd. And Casey's was able to do the job for a lot less. I called Casey's and indeed my quote was less than half of the other company. The work was done efficiently and we are very happy with the results and of course the cost. Always get another opinion/quote because it pays off. Great work and easy to communicate with. I called them for a chimney cleaning and they were prompt and did a good job. However they found (and photographed) some broken flue tiles. They gave me a quote for relining and since then when I call they tell me that the owner will get back with me, which he never does. The cleaning was on August 31st and it is now going on 3 weeks with no repair. Cold weather is coming and as it stands now I am unable to use the fireplace. I gave them 2 stars because the first visit was good but their followup leaves much to be desired. If they tell you your fireplace flue needs relining then I would recommend you use another company because this one doesn't seem to want to do more than just clean them. read more

Well this is a first time experience needing a chimney sweep, and I only need it because it is a condition of my lease in order to get my deposit back. I called as many Chimney sweep companies that I could find and Casey's Top Hat Chimney Sweep Was the lowest quote so I booked them for 11/28 at 9am. I would like to mention the fact that they do not answer the phones. Ever. You have to leave a message and they'll call you back when it's convenient to them. It took 2 days to hear back from them after my initial voicemail when I requested a quote. This should have been enough reason for me to book a different company, but I was trying to save money. On the day of service I called several times throughout the morning and left messages before my 9am appointment, to no avail. Finally on my 3rd or 4th attempt at 9:40am Someone finally answered the phone, only to tell me that the techs truck broke down, and they need to reschedule. I was not happy about that seeing as I took the day off of work specifically to get the done. It's also the last day I have available to do this as my lease is up in 1 day. Now there are no other chimney sweeps available, and I'm going to lose out on my security deposit. Thanks a lot Casey's Top Hat for costing my a ton of money, and screwing me. My advice is to skip the call to this company, unless you want to communicate through voicemail, and waste your time. What a terrible experience. read more

I called this company because I had not had the chimney cleaned during the 11 years I lived in my house, and we tended to have fires 20-30 times every winter. Scheduling the appointment was easy, and when I needed to change the time, the kind lady who answered the phone was very helpful and supportive. The owner, Richard, came at the appointment time as planned. He checked the fireplace from the inside, and then we went up on the roof together to check it from the top. No need for a cleaning! Richard gave me some good ideas about how to monitor the condition of the chimney and the kind and size of wood to use. He charged me $40 for his inspection. Had great, prompt, thorough service from Casey's Top Hat. My wood burning stove seemed to getting less and less efficient, more smoke escaping into the house so called on Tuesday, got a return call the same day and arranged for a cleaning Thursday morning before a specified time when I needed to leave for work. Rain Trujillo was at my door right on time. He laid out clean canvas tarps and taped the pipe vents, showed me how the plate at the back of the stove comes down for cleaning. Then he went up on the roof and found that the previous chimney sweep had installed the wrong size screen which had easily gotten clogged. Back down to the house, he scrubbed out the stove, vacuumed up and was out in less than an hour. read more

I was in the process of selling my house, and the inspector found that the stove pipe was too close to the ceiling beam. Richard at Casey's custom made a heat guard for the pipe. He also closed off one of the old pipes in the bedroom, and did a masterful job of both! Also, our water heater had gone out the previous day, so we had no hot water, and he was kind enough to light the pilot and get us hot water for no extra charge! We've used this company for 2 decades. Before this year, they always did a very good job. This year, the technician arrived very late, and he left ashy smudges all over the hearth/banco and around the opening of our kiva fireplace. In the past, everything had always been left spotless. The firebox is also not as clean as in the past, so I hope the chimney is clean. Also, he left the damper open when he left. read more
