They have a special membership with no commitment for travelers and I cannot recommend this gym highly enough. The gym itself is clean, modern, bright and has a great energy. It features top of the line equipment and includes everything that you can possibly think of (rowers, ellipticals, treadmills, stair stepper, TRX bands, etc.). On top of the gym equipment, the membership includes access to red light therapy & Normatec compression for full body. For an additional cost, you can enjoy the sauna and cold plunge located in a separate locked room. The owner, Douglas, is so kind and welcoming. The other trainers are the same. If you have the opportunity, purchasing a training session(s) with any of them would be a great investment. You could tell each of their clients truly enjoyed them and they were consistently busy. With that, even with 3-4 trainers seeing clients, there was plenty of room for other members to workout. The gym itself has three separate workout areas and plenty of machines / equipment to be shared. If we lived in Santa Fe this would be the gym that I would join without question. I should also preface this with the admission that I enjoyed an introduction to Pilates from a friend/associate/trainer who offered to show me the ropes, springs and stands of the art free of charge. I didn't take a class and although the personal training session wasn't leveraged on an agreement to review the venue, I can't claim this was a genuine appointment with the business. Like many of you, I was genuinely curious about Pilates. Years of television commercials offered virtually no clue into the underworld of this fascinating practice, and once I was there, in a facility equipped with the very best, I totally got it. Pilates is the yin in my aging, overburdened yang. I'm about to turn 40, about to hit that Over the Hill mark, and that means I hurt, mysteriously, in places that never hurt before. As we age, we realize that stretching and activating those muscle groups that we ignored for 40 years suddenly matters. Momentum Studio is an excessively clean, dynamic facility decked out with machines that are built to bend you sideways, upwards and out. The contraptions in this place, man, they're genius inventions of wood and coil, pulley and spoke, the kind of thing your nutty neighbor developed in his garage, and they work wonders. One hour of work in here will realign your spine and reset your clock to Zen. Next visit, I'm investigating Barre. Can't wait.

I've been looking for a studio or some place to go that is more supportive than where I've been taking physical therapy (which I believe is actually making my joint injury worse as they have a specific goal in mind and push, push, push to get to it in the prescribed amount of appointments), and I've found it! Stretch and sweat (or glisten) and more, through a 50 minutes class with a wonderful group of peeps. Great welcoming energy there too! Love the Instructors too! They are so encouraging despite my inability to do it all the first class. Plenty of reps I couldn't quite complete, but I'll work on that. Be sure to have socks on since there are no bare feet or shoes in the studio. Bring water to hydrate and you can have it close to you in class. They also have water fountains available too. They provide small lockers (adequate for shoes, sunglasses, phone, and small purse or wallet) and you can bring your own lock if you want. The bands, weights, mats, and balls are all provided and used during the class. They even have a bit of merchandise for sale too, so you can strut your Barre fandom. ;-) I'll be back for sure each time I come visit in Albuquerque. I highly recommend!

My only gripe with this particular location is that the morning classes can feel like a geriatric high school - very cliquish - and if you aren't part of the social club, you are overlooked. I've had women try to stake claim over certain reformers and act territorial if you happen to take "their" reformer. Overall, it's been helpful though for my joint pain, so I continue to forge on and try to put the blinders on and relax for the quick 50 minute classes.

I've gone from not know how to walk to doing things I never would have thought were possible a year ago. The instruction here is top notch. It is always geared towards my level and skills, while still challenging me consistently and helping me grow. Pole is also a very demanding sport - all the teachers make sure that each of the students are adequately warmed up and provide appropriate modifications to avoid injuries. I've taken private sessions from three of the coaches (Lauren, Kendra, Jaymie) - every time Jaymie listened carefully to what skills I wanted to work on in those sessions and went through effort to match me with the right coach. At this point, I think I've taken every class offered at least once and have never had a single bad experience. I brought a friend with me to a class and was thrilled when she became as addicted as I am. Jaymie has created a safe, welcoming, and fun space that I absolutely love. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
