Our review starts in late 2021 in the Independent Living building of the Groves. It was a great…read moreplace. Inside pool, eating area, laundry room and lots of things to do. Then an brief hospital visit landed us in the rehab facility of the Groves. There most definitely was a lot to be desired there. Cleanliness and staff time efficiency was a major concern. We were ready to move her, but they kept her until the Medicare money was used up. Then on to their assisted living in the White Oak building in mid 2023. . At first there were a lot of issues that concerned us. Then Roseanne showed up. That woman has poured her heart and soul into turning White Oak around. The building itself, particularly the lacking hvac has been dealt with. She has started so many programs to keep the residents engaged and having fun as much as they wished to participate in. She has been a godsend to this building!

I'm truly saddened by the lack of service and support right after my mother in law's passing…read more Sadly; the undertakers arrived and tended to her body, but we as family members were left with no one to ask questions to, we needed a push cart or some other way to help us transport belongings out to the car, and it would have been great for a nurse to come tell us what was expected of us. It felt as if the room was already rented and they needed us out. Nursing staff was busy administering COVID tests, and masks are still required. I promise, we started packing as soon as she passed, and it might have taken another 20 minutes for us to finish getting the clothing out. Note to the administration: please communicate with the families. We really needed to know that once your loved one passes, you only have a few seconds to resolve the arrangements and have the room ready for the next resident. We all pass, and fortunately; she was only in hospice for a couple of days, so we knew this was the end for her, but we should have been prepped ahead of time to know the urgency to vacate. We do recognize how hard it is to find a nursing home that takes Medicare, so we are appreciative. Be up front with the families. Thank you!

(there are good workers here) Most do not do their job and/or do not know what they are doing. They made me pay lots of money even after I got my husband out of there. They only want $$$$ My husband passed Dec 14 2024. He was at one of the better places, Oxford Grand. They care As for mccrite..So many THUMBS DOWN They should give me my husbands $10,000 back. I will NEVER forget and will be posting every year. I hope no one else is going through this or will have to :(

We had many issues with our Mom's care at Care Haven. They stage the homes for people looking for…read morea place for their loved ones, but the normal day to day experience for the residents is not like that. There was only one excellent geriatric caregiver during the time our Mom was there. Most of the others were mediocre - two were poor. One was abusive. More time was spent in food prep than in helping with the needs of the residents. Families of residents don't want to complain because of how that complaint will potentially affect their loved one's care. They are stuck in a house without much to do but be stuck in front of a TV, with rare outside activities, no crafts, no reading, games etc...but the meals were good. Our Mom needed help eating and was not given assistance except by the one wonderful employee- who was only there 3 days a week. You are at the mercy of the one person who works there - who is just hired to fill a vacancy. I could say more, but keep looking.

Now, I didn't swear, and I never raised my voice, so I'll ask you, is that professional? Are these people the people you want to trust beloved elderly and former war heroes? I think not, but that is just my idea about it. I believe elderly citizens should be treated with respect, especially if they're in assisted living

With COVID, it was become more and more difficult for her to care for herself on her own and we worried about the daily isolation and loneliness. It was important to us that her experience was as smooth and positive as possible. The staff at Rose Estates has been warm and welcoming. An example, my mom was worried about running out of dog food and one of their folks went a pick some up for her. She loves the activities, loves the 3 prepared meals a day and talks about her trips to walmart, entertainment--even Elvis came to visit! As with any transition like this there have been a few bumps, but they have done their best to make them right. She is still adjusting and overall we are very pleased with the experience so far. We are very please with the decision to move her here.

Park Meadows is close to his house...fast forward...she is 92 years old now ...in hospice and facing her last days... Her friends she made visit her daily in her apartment because she doe not go down to meals anymore.... I cannot say enough nice things about the staff, environment and culture of this caring community. From the minute you walk into Park Meadows, you are greeted by warm , friendly people at the front desk...As I walk to her apartment, residents are calm, content, very at home. Her nurses are competent, caring, professional and always welcoming as they greet me. Her care has always been above and beyond. I am sure they go way past their job descriptions to bring comfort to the residents....who could ask for more? Our family feels so lucky that we chose Park Meadows and are forever grateful

Our 92 year-old father/grandfather/father-in-law chose Parks Meadow for moving into a senior…read morefacility last Fall (2022). He eventually moved to Parks Meadow in January of 2023; however, it was recommended that he reserve his unit by paying the December 2022 rent. Unfortunately, soon after his move he became ill, hospitalized and passed away in mid-February, 2023. His stay at Park Meadows was only 3 1/2 weeks (late January to mid-February). The family paid March rent as we needed time to remove his belongings from the unit. In all, we paid 4 month's rent for his short stay. Another part of his "singing" up for Park Meadows was a "one time non-refundable" Community Fee - in this case $10,000 listed on page 40 of a 52-page lease agreement. It was explained that the Community Fee would lower his rent over his stay at Park Meadows. The family requested that Park Meadows refund at least part of the Community Fee. as his unit was only used a short time and he did not get a chance to use dining or any other facility amenities. Obviously, the family is very disappointed, and surprised, on the position Park Meadows is taking. Although there is no legal recourse, we find it unethical for Park Meadows to keep all of the "Community Fee" as his residence was so short in time. In speaking to the business officer at the facility, she could only say "it's out of my hands" and "I completely understand". In the end, it feels like a 92 year old man was taken advantage of with a very long and detailed lease agreement and an insensitive corporate entity.

It has been over two weeks that this senior living facility has gone without an elevator. Still no ETA on when it will get fixed. It is a 4 story facility! Is it going to take someone falling down the stairs for them to fix it?

I have only been to Fairways of Ironhorse a few times, but with the times that I have been there…read morethe staff has been so kind and very helpful to myself and other residents! It's always nice to see bright smiling faces as soon as you walk in. The building is beautiful on its own, but it's the determination of the staff to help keep it that way inside and out. I hope that everyone who has a privilege to come to The Fairways of Ironhorse has the same experience as I did, it was great!

I've only experienced this facility as a guest in order to provide rehabilitation services to…read moreresidents. As I've observed, the building is always clean & in good working order. On my last visit, they were in process of some renovation upgrades to keep everything up to high standards. The staff I've talked to & required assist from have always been very helpful. This facility provides a game room, movie theatre, salon, small library nooks, a fitness room & pub for happy hour. I always see posting for events, outings & various invited performances. I've observed a very nice facility with good help &a lots of activities to keep the residents busy.
