Couple of years back, I came here for a second opinion in RE to needing a crown. Dr Kaslow told me i didn't need a crown at all, he could fill it and it would be fine for around 10 years. After terminating my relationship with his practice after breach of HIPPA compliance, I've finally seen a new dentist in Goleta. Now, the fillings Kaslow did two years ago, have rot underneath one and the other was a total hack job that they're taking it out to re-do it completely. So, now I get to be out of pocket even more, fixing the same teeth over and over. read more

I had a cracked tooth. I went to see Dr. Kaslow because my regular dentist could not see me for several weeks. He told me I should have it taken care of quickly to prevent further problems. I have known him for years, trust his professionalism and skill. Unfortunately he is retiring and I had to see the other dentist who recently partnered with him. The first red flag was when I was told they did not accept any insurance. Desperate to avoid a possible root canal I proceeded with this gentleman and had a crown put in. Now I have jaw pain and headaches and I feel like my upper and lower teeth are not aligning properly ( I cannot say with certainty why that would be). In addition, I have found that had I stayed in network with my regular dentist I would be paying over $800.00 less. The crown itself would have been nearly 400 bucks cheaper. If you want a pricey dentist who does not communicate what he is doing ( I still don't know what type of material the crown is and now understand there are several options cost-wise...) this is your man. I love going to the dentist. Can you say that about your dental experiences? I doubt it because until I met Dr. Arthur Kaslow and his team of professional staffers over two years ago, I would never have said that. I regularly drive 135 miles one way to get to Dr. Kaslow's Office in Solvang, CA. It all started when we were in Santa Ynez for lunch and I lost a crown. Thanks to my wife Paula and Google, we discovered Dr. Kaslow in Solvang and they worked me in within the hour. Over the last two to three years as I need dental work I take a beautiful drive from Century City to just north of Santa Barbara and I expect to continue the relationship indefinitely. Over many years of referrals to some of the "best in the country" dental professionals practicing in Beverly Hills and West LA, I now have all of my dental and cosmetic dentistry work done by Dr. Kaslow. It is always apparent Dr. Kaslow loves his work and takes personal pride in the expertise he provides in each step of every procedure. He works with his dental assistants in a more engaging and cooperative way than I have ever experienced and they constantly deliver pain free treatment. I feel like I am part of the team rather than an object on which they work. We talk and come to decisions together. I am as involved as I care to be on each procedure and objective for each tooth. The office which feels like a home with its own parking lot (no medical buildings, elevators and parking structures for me) is managed by people who seem to be interested in dentistry as a career and are not clock watchers. I was able to setup my appointment on their website. Not having to use the phone is always a plus in my book. They got me setup for a complimentary consultation the very next day, another plus. I arrived early, filled out some brief forms and they got me in on time with no waiting. Nice atmosphere and I felt very at ease. The staff was very friendly and nice, nothing but compliments. Art (I'm assuming that's his name), the actual dentist, was very nice and seems like he really enjoys what he does which made the experience even more pleasant. Before March of this year, I honestly can't remember the last time I had been to the dentist. I probably wouldn't have voluntarily come in for an appointment, but a wisdom tooth emergency forced me to call. The office staff found a way to get me in the same day, and the whole process of extracting the wisdom tooth wound up being so much more comfortable than I could have imagined. After years of avoiding the dentist, our daughter recommended Dr Kaslow and we couldn't be happier. My husband had a tooth that was killing him so he had to get it looked at. Dr Kaslow fit him in quickly. It turned out to be fractured, and Dr Kaslow pulled it that day. Quick and painless. This was the second tooth my husband lost as a result of a fracture. Dr Kaslow explained implants to us and thought it was the best option for the two missing molars. It was a long process but a year or so later, he has the implants and is so happy to be able to chew on that side again! Dr Kaslow also saved us money compared to an estimate from an oral surgeon. What can I say, Dr Kaslow saved my 2014 Christmas Holiday! I broke my top front tooth (in its entirety!) on my way to meet my family on December 23rd in the evening, 300 miles from my home dentist. Who would possibly be available the next couple of days to see me? Dr Kaslow to the rescue!! Though his office was closed, he met me there and opened it especially for me! I was not returning home for a week and could not imagine going the next seven days without my top front tooth; Dr Kaslow was extremely empathetic. He temporarily reattached my tooth with a post that he said would last well past the holidays (and it did!) and explained to me the next steps he recommended and offered for my dentist to call if he had any questions. I was in and out in 30 minutes! Dr Kaslow could have easily gouged me but instead, he gave me a more than a fair rate. On top of it, he was the nicest guy- definitely a quirky personality, which I totally appreciate. Thanks again Dr Kaslow! It's true. The Kaslow team is really THAT good. Not only was I able to get some old work fixed, but the new work was more permanent, less expensive, and I'm so much happier than with my prior dental team. Dr. Kaslow has a very calming affect on those who feel nervous with extensive work. His and his team's confidence and calming ways just make you feel at ease. And not only was I able to avoid a root canal by following his instruction and being patient, but he also saw a problem with my bite and spent a few extra minutes making sure that was fixed up as well. I have less tension in my jaw now because of the bite alteration, and I'm so grateful to the whole Kaslow team for being so very, very talented and friendly. I went in for a tooth ache. Without even performing a cold temperature test, I was told by Dr Kaslow that I needed a root canal on a certain tooth. He told me he could do it for me right then and there. I declined but he became very pushy and assured me he had been doing this for 30 years. No matter how much I declined he would not stop trying to talk me into letting him do it. This made me very uneasy. I went to an oral surgeon and they checked the papers he faxed over and if what he said was true about that tooth. It turns out he was wrong...very wrong..he was going to perform a root canal on the wrong tooth, one that didn't actually need one. In fact it was the one next to it. So if I had listened to Dr Kaslow and not my gut, I would have had a root canal done on a tooth that didn't need one and it wouldn't have even fixed the problem but in fact it would have costed me twice as much seeing as how I still would have needed a root canal on the tooth that actually needed one. I'm never coming back to Kaslow. I'm furious. He almost screwed up my tooth and drained my money for no reason. read more

The nicest dentist office I have ever been to, hands down. Dr. Kaslow as well as all the hygenists were amazing with my kids and was just as gentle and friendly with me when it was my turn. There is no hard sell here like other dentists offices that are always trying to get more money out of you. They do a great job explaining what needs to be done to your teeth and then just give recommendations for how to handle it. The rest is up to the patient to proceed. So nice and refreshing! Dr. Kaslow was my first dentist growing up. When I moved away but would come back for visits in the summer and had to have emergency dental care him and his team were ALWAYS there and took great care of me. And when I moved back to the area he was the first dentist's office I called to setup as my regular dentist. I've never felt more calm and relaxed in a dentist office than there with his team. Dr Kaslow suggested "Next Generation" which is an appliance you wear in your ear which is specially made for your ear canal. I have had terrific results. The office offers a yearly cleaning and x-ray program, which I take advantage of, designed to discover and correct minor problems before they become larger and more costly. The overall feeling I get during all my visits has been that Dr. Kaslow and the staff are committed to providing excellent dental care at a reasonable fee and to make me as comfortable as possible. I challenge you to find a dentist and assistants more sweet, helpful, and competent. I can not recommend his office more highly. I believe the best way to support excellence is by sharing my positive experience with other potential and existing patients. Dr Kaslow has a history of personal contribution, generosity, and integrity within the community, which also can be observed within his dental practice. I am different than most patients in that my Father was a dentist and I previously owned and operated a dental laboratory.
