I found Gustavo via Yelp. I originally hired him and his team to remove a large concrete patio. To our surprise there was two layers of concrete! Gustavo and his team took it in stride and completed the project without delay. (And hauled it away!) I have now hired him multiple times for various projects at my house. I cannot recommend these people highly enough! Everyone related to building, remodeling, upgrading etc has so much work these days - you know how hard it is to even get a return call? We needed a brick walkway removed and after about a half hour of trying to get it going ourselves, with our prybar and 70-year-old muscles, we concluded the job was beyond our capacity. I randomly called Santos Hauling because their ad also mentions "demolition". Just as I was leaving a message, Gus was already calling me back! He came over within an hour to look at the job, and arrived at 8:30 this morning with the proper tools, a truck and a crew. Nice guys, job done in under an hour, and they left the area swept and tidy. The bricks that were still intact they stacked neatly for my neighbors to take. Santos is not cheap, and I'm happy to pay for responsible capable people who respond, show up, and do a good job, relieving me of a big headache. I'd say, ignore those old reviews. I was reticent when older trucks came rolling in, but was quickly impressed with the combination of grit and the gentleman nature of this crew. Gustavo was kind, he listened, and took precautionary measures to protect our floor and keep dust and debris to a minimum. He comes across as a kind, family man, but also determined to get a challenging job done quickly and with care. Gustavo stayed at the job site until every last bit of debris was removed. Mario Santos and his crew are above and beyond! We've used their service twice and both times they did an exceptional job. Each visit they hauled away piles of junk from our backyard. And this last time they also cleared all the weeds and debri from our backyard. Mario also had his tree trimmer prune our large maple tree and hanging branches from the bordering redwood tree along our back wall. He did an awesome job! Mario and his employees were top notch. Super friendly and amazing work. They came and landscaped my lawn - front and back... removed weeds, old leaves, berries and mowed the lawn. It looked like a new home after they were finished. They also hauled away so many appliances and lawn ornaments and junk that have been accumulating at the house. Prices were very reasonable and they were so fast and friendly. Also sent reminder that he was coming the night before to move cars out of the driveway to keep them from getting dirty or possible stray rocks or grass kicked up. I contact Mario based on his reviews. After three tries, and 3 no shows. I gave up. First time, I gave him directions (he says he doesn't use GPS or any map apps). He never showed and when he did call he said he was no longer in the area, that he "got lost" and couldn't find me. He would try "tomorrow". I told him, no worries, how about Saturday. I called him the next day. Explicit directions. Mario told me that I had given him the wrong directions the day before and that it was my fault for him not finding my place. He told me he was on his way over. 1 hr later I called and he said he was on his way to get his truck, he couldn't come over till later. Of course I never saw him. Finally I called another Hauler, who showed up and took the small load. read more

Jaimie, is not to be trusted if he is running the crew. He ripped me off by lying about dumping fees at buena vista dump. He has some kind of scam going with fake receipts he quoted me 250.oo for one and a half tons of scrap wood. That should have been 150.00: at 75.00 a ton. He also increased his original bid 200.00. A 600.00 job ended up costing me 950.00. He also lied about not being able to dump lumber in Ben Lomand. These people are a totally dishonest business. Do not use them, if you do get a written contract. read more
