I should preface this review by saying I'm a lad, so I can't say I've looked closely at jewelry often enough to tell you what makes a good necklace. I was referred to SDD by a local store when I asked if somebody could help me make something for my girlfriend's birthday. Once I realized the work was far beyond my grasp (without taking classes, which I'm not about to do), I decided I should work with somebody who could make something custom for me, something that would be one-of-a-kind. I met up with Sara, and she figured out what my girlfriend would probably like, based off my girlfriend's dress style, skin color, other jewelry she wears often, etc. I was proud of myself for noticing these types of things until I remembered that my girlfriend certainly knows which clothes I reserve for going out, the ones I like for hanging out with friends, and the duds I wear around the apartment. Oh well. Sara's work was done quickly and affordably, and the necklace was gorgeous. I've never seen anything like it. It really is a piece of art. SIx months later, my girlfriend still loves it and is proud of me for "designing" her new favorite necklace. In truth, my input was limited to saying stuff like, "And she's got a purple shirt, and, uh, she likes shoes. Some of them are green." On top of all that, I think Sara may be the friendliest and most cheerful person in the world. I bet she sleeps with a smile on her face. Sara Danielle Designs' jewelry is creative, elegant and whimsical. I love how her work evolves seasonally and it remains stylish without ever becoming trendy. My look mixes Anthropologie with Banana Republic; I like a hip, flowy, multicultural feel that people will comment on, as well as a put-together, subtle, classy look that will show grace and maturity. I love talking with her when I stop at her booth at the Sowa market - and that she is willing to edit a piece right on-site if you need her to. Sara's jewelry is absolutely lovely. I had the honor of selling her designs at a store in Cambridge and not only fell in love with the quality and craftsmanship of her pieces, but was continually amazed by how easily so many customers--both women and men--also fell in love with her designs (There was one husband who got something like four necklaces and two pair of earrings for his wife within just a few months...) Sara, personally, is a delight to work with, always with a smile and a burst of positive energy. Professionally, she is quick to make an adjustment or a repair should one be needed and is consistently efficient in her turnaround time. I first became aware of Sara's jewelry designs at the SOWA fairs the past summer. The elegance and simplicity of her designs really caught my attention. I finally bought a set (a necklace and a pair of earrings) this past December from the Holiday SOWA in the South End. The set is beautiful, has been durable, and was very reasonably priced indeed! What caught me most, though, was Sara herself. After I paid her for my necklace and earrings, which I paid in cash, I walked away to enjoy the rest of the fair. Minutes later, she found me in the crowd, telling me that she had given me incorrect change and that she wanted to return my extra 2 dollars to me. Honesty and integrity like that is unbeatable. She really won me with that alone. Also, I love that part of her proceeds go to charities. Because of all that, I will always consider her work one of my premier choices for jewelry. read more

I became a fan the moment I first saw the jewelry from Sara Danielle Designs! Every piece was so detailed, unique, and elegantly crafted, and it was clear that a great deal of thought and intention went into the production. I have very different tastes from my friend and sister, but I was able to find gorgeous earrings, necklaces, and bracelets for all three of us. The designer also really knew her product and was able to explain each detail of all the jewelry so that I knew the history and specific construction. It is apparent that everything was made with love, and it's like owning a piece of art that is totally affordable and special. I have quite a collection of SDD originals and I love wearing each beautiful piece. Each piece of Sara's jewelry is prepared with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and love -- and it shows. If I could give Sara Danielle Designs 6 stars, I would! I purchased a simple necklace for my mom last December. She absolutely loved it and wears it almost every day. This past weekend I went to the SOWA market with my mom and we ran into Sara about to close up. She stayed open for us as we purchased 5 more necklaces and a pair of earrings! The first was a silver bead on a chain, and I wear it all the time because it has a bit of funky edge to it.
