    A great place to hold a wedding in the heart of St Augustine…read more The Lightner Museum is located in the heart of historic St Augustine, the oldest city in the United States founded in 1565 by Don Pedro Menendez De Aviles of Spain. We recently attended a wedding that was held at this location and were very impressed by the venue and the staff. The chapel is intimate, with about 6 benches on one side and 9 benches on the other. A beautiful stained glass window on the front of the church provides a beautiful backdrop for your special occasion. Parking is accomplished by street parking or nearby parking lots. The bride was provided with a changing room for use upstairs. It was air-conditioned with a couch, chairs, and 3 large makeup mirrors for the bride and her ladies. It overlooked the courtyard with access controlled by the staff. They have a pretty busy schedule, often handling several weddings in a day. Our party had the chapel for several hours and private access to the courtyard for over an hour for wedding pictures. Overall, it was a great place to hold a beautiful wedding with wonderful, supportive staff and a beautiful backdrop.

I did not hire a wedding planner and Megan would send me "monthly checklists" so that I stayed on track and helped answer any questions I had in the planning process/vendor recommendations. She met with us about a month before to go through the final walk through at the venue and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day of! She made sure all vendors were there and were providing the services listed in our contracts, ensured all decor was properly placed and overall just made the day amazing! MEGAN IS A ROCKSTAR!!!

I did a Google search for caterers in our area, and Catering by Liz popped up. She also came in as a strong recommendation from our aunt, as they catered to events that she had been to in the past and was impressed. So that sealed the deal and we went with Catering by Liz. We are so happy that we went with them. The service and professionalism are outstanding. Harmony was our point of contact and she did an amazing job. She is great with communication and always responded to our emails within 24 hours. She also accommodated our work schedule and was able to set up an appointment on a weekend for the tasting. The sample menu that they have is pretty extensive but not exhaustive. We chose some food items from their menu that went along with a Greek theme since we were married in Greece. We also requested to see if they could make some foods that we had while we were there. We showed Harmony pictures of the foods we wanted and told her what was in them and what they tasted like. She said she would forward it to the chefs to see if they could do it. We were so pleased when she emailed us to let us know that they were able to recreate the food items...and the food was perfect (if not better!) The guests at our party were in love with the food and kept raving about it. We also had a bar service set up where we provided our own booze and they provided the rest (bartender, glassware, ice, sodas, juices, etc.) The bar service was excellent and the guys working behind the bar were on point. I never saw a long line for drinks and everyone was happy with their drinks and the service. We are very, very pleased with the services that they provided (and at a very reasonable cost!), and will not hesitate to use them again to cater for any large parties that we may have!

    If you need a sign, let this be it. NEVER AGAIN!!…read more Read until the end. The owner stayed THE ENTIRE EVENT. I repeat, she stayed THE ENTIRE EVENT. Who does that?! When I asked her if she was there to help, she mentioned that she was the owner and she always hung around for the events. She claimed that she was there to help, but she was just there hovering, mingling with our guests, and taking pictures. She was just watching us the ENTIRE time pointing out everything that was wrong or not up to her standard. DON'T BOOK IT!! We were there to celebrate a very big milestone of one our our family members. We had 1.5 hours to decorate and setup. Our event was from 6p-10p. She reminded us at 9:58p that we had TWO minutes left!!! We were so worried about leaving on time so that it wouldn't cost us our deposit, that we had to tell our guests to leave so we could clean up. How embarrassing! DON'T BOOK IT!! The venue is a nice little house that has been split into both a home and a venue. With that being said, it stinks like pets inside, the kitchen is DIRTY, the refrigerator is disgusting, and the oven looks like it hasn't been wiped since it was purchased. DON'T BOOK IT!! Her tone was very demeaning and not welcoming at all. We paid to rent the venue and enjoy our time with family and friends. The added stress because of her presence and continuous negative feedback was very unnecessary. Planning and executing an event is stressful as it is. DON'T BOOK IT!!
