After looking through what seemed like hundreds of photographers, my husband and I chose In Tandem for our engagement photos and our wedding in October 2013. Not only are Sarah and Adam some of the nicest people on the face of the planet, but they're super easy to work with and they craft images that are artsy and truly capture moments in time -- none of the cheesy staged stuff that you see in most wedding photography. Michael and I went with them to a carnival in Dripping Springs, TX for our engagement photos. I wasn't sure Michael would fare well doing the engagement photos since he's a guy and would probably rather be watching a football game. Sarah and Adam made it so fun that he was into it in no time. We both felt really comfortable with them and the images turned out great! They were really interesting pictures because of the cool setting and how relaxed we felt. Sarah and Adam went with us to New Orleans for our wedding (we are Austin based) and they captured every detail, from both of us getting ready in our separate rooms through the second line parade we had at the end of the night. My favorite part was that they really captured the atmosphere and the feeling. I remember hearing a band on the street outside my hotel balcony and there's a picture of it! Every little detail I had in my mind that made my day special was captured on film. We also chose the photo booth option, which I have done before at other weddings and special events. In Tandem's is radically different in that participants can start the camera themselves, see their images and even Faceebook, Tweet, or email them to themselves right from the event. Sarah and Adam are not just wedding photographers, they are truly some of the most inspirational and talented artists in their field. I am so honored that they photographed our wedding (and also engagement photo session). The photos for both the engagement session and the wedding are incredible. We're so fortunate to have the problem of having a hard time deciding what shots to get printed. We initially found out about InTandem from an ah-mazing post on a wedding blog. I was completely floored by the work. Most wedding / engagement photographers relied on filters / aftereffects or cheesy poses to make their photos cute. InTandem, on the other hand, know how to capture moments. They wait for the right time to take the shot. They compose frames beautifully. They use natural lighting in a way that inspires you. In other words, they know their sh*t and you can trust that they will knock that sh*t out of the park. Advice to any couples looking into the engagement session photos: It's TOTALLY worth it! At the wedding, you won't have time to even think. The wedding went by so quickly and it was such a blur that we didn't have time to enjoy the time we had with Sarah and Adam to take just newly married couple photos. The engagement session was an entire afternoon and was super fun and Sarah and Adam are totally awesome to work with. We also got the photo booth for our wedding and all our guests loved it! We didn't have a guest book, so the photo booth pictures sort of served as a fun replacement for a traditional guest book. Sarah and Adam brought some chalk board talk bubble signs that people used to leave their messages in the photo booth pics. It was lots of fun and an awesome addition to the wedding. Getting excellent wedding photographers was a high priority for us. Knowing that the photos will last forever and are really the only things you actually keep with you long after the wedding is over - we made sure to budget for excellent photographers. Sarah and Adam take THE most amazing pictures I have ever seen. Sitting for a session with them was a total blast (having never had professional portraits before, we were unsure what to expect)! The photos are everything we wanted and then some - it's like they were able to put what we hoped for but could not really explain into actual photos. We now have their photos hanging all over our house. Everyone always asks who shot them (they really are stunning!) and we are MORE than happy to point them to InTandem. wow, WoW, WOW! As you can see from the reviews below, one can only write long, glowing comments about Sarah and Adam (InTandem Photography). They are BY FAR the most engaged, poetic and thoughtful individuals and photographers (and should I dare even say "friends") that we could have ever imagined joining us on such as special day. My partner and I fell in love with them immediately and over our 2+ year engagement, Sarah and Adam continued to keep in touch and (graciously) dealt with my love for micro-details and planning. Most folks would love for all to run seamlessly during the big day and - BAM - Adam and Sarah made that happen. I had absolutely no concerns regarding the photography or flow of the day with them by our sides, and in many ways they actually helped me stop to "remember each moment" and just be me. Pictures were organized and posed when we wanted them to be, but really, their amazing skill can fully be captured when you let them just do their thing. They were in the middle of the dance floor with us, they captured laughs and sentimental moments that I could have only hoped to see in person (so thank goodness for the pictures), and they have a knack for capturing the essence of a moment in a single shot. We just received a 5 minute slide show of pictures and it is as though I am reliving the day all over again. So enough with the narrative, here are my top 10 favs of InTandem: 1. They are real people who genuinely care about the couple before/during/after the special day 2. They are FUN... and because of that they become part of your guest list and capture the festivities as though they were a guest! 3. Is $$ a concern? With a $20K budget for a multi-day festive weekend, we prioritized our photography as a key item (consequently, other things had to be cut). We would not change a thing! 4. When your friends and family tell you during and after the wedding that they loved Sarah and Adam, you know you did well. 5. When your bridesmates aim to have Sarah and Adam as their photographers for upcoming weddings, you know they were a hit. 6. We had a domestic destination wedding and loved that Sarah and Adam made a point to meet with us over coffee while visiting in town. They also set up a Skype call with us (their idea) so that we could make sure we would all be a good fit before making the deposit! GENIUS. 7. My partner and I actually felt sad saying goodbye to Sarah and Adam on our wedding night. It was as though we made such good friends during the process and then had to say farewell! 8. Did I mention the cost? Oh, yes, I did. TRUST ME - it is worth it! 9. Did I mention that they are so genuine and amazing at what they can capture? It's NO JOKE! 10. When we first began looking for a wedding photographer, we knew we wanted someone with an artistic point of view. We wanted to avoid cheesy, posed photos you see in a lot of weddings. Sarah's pictures are beautiful, high-end, artistic and dramatic - perfect for what we were looking for. From the moment we decided to hire Sarah to today, her customer service has been exceptional. My husband and I lived in a different state than where our venue was, so Sarah made sure to always be available by phone/email and was prompt in responding to any questions. When we came to town, we met in person for her to get a better idea of what our wedding would be like. She was perfect! The day of, she was prompt, efficient and then I forgot she was there! The whole process was seamless. The photos came back and we were truly stunned by how beautiful they are. She perfectly captured the day, including the special moments, the beautiful details and the fun party atmosphere. After getting engaged we started the search for wedding photographers, we knew we wanted photos that withstood the test of time. After what seemed like an eternity we thought we would have to book photographers from out of state. It was pretty disheartening that most wedding photographers were using the trendy "filters" and overexposed images. Our ideal photographers were to be artistic, whose work couldn't be defined by a trend in photography. Then I pinned a photo from a wedding in Miami, I was in love with it. I kept searching for photographers in the Austin area and finally found three whom we loved. We contacted InTandem immediately because a) they were our #1 choice and b)we were hoping they weren't already booked! Sarah emailed back and gave us the 411 on the entire process. After booking them, I realized that the photo I had pinned months before was taken by InTandem, clearly, it was meant to be! We live in Houston and our schedules never matched up to meet with them prior to the wedding, which didn't seem to matter once the day finally arrived. Once they were at the venue it seemed like we had known them for years. The weather in Texas decided to go full winter on us, which we weren't expecting... and both Adam and Sarah braved the cold for us. They wore warm clothing and didn't let the cold deter them from doing their best! They were genuinely excited to share the day with us and Sarah is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She would take pictures and at times just look over and smile, that genuine smile a friend or family member gives you that shows how happy they are for you. While shooting the men as they got ready my fiance and Adam immediately found common ground since they are both from Colorado. Adam has a crazy artistic eye and the best part was seeing the creative juices flow throughout the day. He would see something and ask if we would do it. We had seen their work and trusted them 1000000000% Letting them do their thing was by far one of the best choices we made for our wedding and our gut feeling was right, the photos ARE BEAUTIFUL. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and personalities add calm to what is usually a stressful day. Their interaction with all of our guests was also magic! Everyone commented on how nice they were and that they could tell we were going to get some wonderful photos from them. Wow, Sarah and Adam were exactly what I hoped to find in wedding photographers (well,actually- in vendors regardless of the field). It was so important to me that there be a friendly connection between our photographers and me and my hubby. We got it in Sarah and Adam. There were times when we didn't even know that they were around. But they sent us a "teaser" shot that captured one of the most important moments at our wedding- amazing!
