Hands down one of the best swim schools in the San Francisco area! Great, smart, and friendly…read moreinstructors. Instructors are patient with my kids. Anna and Toni are the best with our kids. Our kids learn so much from them and now excel in the water. Thank you Anna and Toni for teaching our girls.

My daughter was okay for a while, but she got super scared. She preferred a female instructor. But the guy at the front told us she was not ready and shouldn't be there if she can't work with any teacher. (She actually earned a ribbon that day with a female instructor.) If you know anything about child development, they need to feel safe. Secondly, I simply asked if we could transfer credit. The response was issuing an automatic refund for the credits, deleting my account and canceling the class she was enrolled in. The person answering emails did not even issue a refund for the cancelled class until I realized I couldn't have access. I did NOT approve of any of these things. Their response was "the instructors also noted that she had anxiety." I sent my daughter to swim school because she was anxious in the water, and I wanted her to learn swim safety. When I asked to speak to a manager, the entire staff began ignoring my emails and calls. I will NEVER send or recommend anyone here again. Their service is appalling.

I went to the South SF location for two training days and enjoyed the experience…read more The instructors are thorough, detail-oriented, personable, and take the time to listen to questions and correct incorrect techniques. All four of my instructors (Q, Dan, Steve, Matt) were excellent and helped everyone feel safe and engaged. Everything was clear and concise. I highly recommend Pacific to anyone who wants to get their endorsement. I left the second day with a desire to take further courses. This was a stellar experience.

I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who ends up with Ricky as an instructor. He showed…read morelittle interest in helping all students succeed and seemed to single out certain individuals for constant criticism. In my case, he gave conflicting instructions -- telling me to slow down in corners, then scolding me for going too slow. When I adjusted, he said I was going too fast. Other students made similar mistakes, yet he only called me out, often in front of the group. At one point, a student dragged their foot in a sharp turn, but he said nothing. When I slightly overshot a corner after following his instructions to slow down, he pulled me aside for a harsher critique. His inconsistent feedback made me more anxious, which led to more mistakes. In the end, despite performing well on the test, I did not pass -- and it felt personal. A little pressure can be helpful, but Ricky created a stressful, unfair learning environment. If you get assigned to him, good luck. You'll need it.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dogpatch Foil! I can't remember my instructor's name,…read morebut he was so kind and knowledgeable. I actually went to two lessons a year apart. The only barrier to me going more is that it is so expensive for one lesson (over $300). The instructor explained the super high cost of the foil itself, so I understand the need to increase the lesson price. I would love to do this more regularly, but cannot for this reason. I decided to splurge on the first lesson and was gifted the second lesson. We put in at Crane Cove Park. I have been there many times but never swam in the water. I was outfitted with a wetsuit, helmet, and booties. I never felt cold while in the water. During my first lesson, they connected this radio to the helmet so I could speak to the instructor while out. It was super helpful because he could give me real-time feedback. In my second lesson, they did not have radios, so it was harder to communicate during the lesson. It really is so fun to foil, and I highly recommend it to anyone who might want to give it a try. If you wanted to feel comfortable doing it, unless you regularly surge/skateboard, it would probably take 3-5 lessons before you are zooming around standing completely, so definitely factor that in when it comes to cost.

Awesome shop so nice and close to Crane Cove - a great place to get out on the water…read more I took efoiling lessons from Dogpatch Foil and had an awesome time. I was immediately hooked. They sold me a board and have been super helpful and friendly along the way. I highly recommend them for lessons and sales of Fliteboards!
