They stopped visitors from visiting their loved ones in March (as they should've and I completely agree that this was the right thing to do to protect the elderly so that's not a issue) but somehow Covid-19 still made it's way in in the end of April. It has almost completely wiped out a entire unit, there's 5 patients left (from what I know, could be less by now). One of those residents was my loved one. She was tested positive for Covid-19 and sent down to the Covid-19 unit (rehab part). When she was transferred we called to make sure she had her pace maker machine with her and they said she did not. This machine is suppose to be with her at ALL TIMES. How careless could they be? We call numerous times a day to check in on her and each time we were told something completely different from what the other hours early had said, for example: morning phone call to check on her "she's doing well, she's eating, drinking and seems to be asymptomatic" the next phone call "she's not eating or drinking, has a fever and seems uncomfortable" and this went on for a couple of days. We then got a phone call asking us to choose what funeral home for her but no answer as to WHY?! Is she okay? Is she dying due to Covid-19? Well, no, but it's because she has a "terminal illness" one that she was never actually diagnosed with but did have signs of it for years. So why all of a sudden? Oh, well, you know, they don't know! What?!?! The next day we get a phone call telling us we can stand outside of her window and basically say goodbye to her because she was, indeed, dying due to Covid-19. They say they only allow window visits for those who will be passing away soon. We kept hearing she's asymptomatic but was she really? She passed away three days later. Before Covid-19 my loved one was overall healthy. She was happy, funny, lovable, caring and just the sweetest woman on earth. We, as her family, want answers as to how she and many, many, other residents have caught Covid-19 and have sadly passed away. This is all being hushed, you won't hear about it unless you speak to a loved ones family who (it's being reported only 5 deaths but its more than that) caught Covid-19 and died. This is heartbreaking. I will say the nurses (most) are wonderful. That's probably the only positive about this place. If I could have taken her home during this time (Covid-19) I would've and she would be alive right now. I'll be searching for answers and I will not give up. I came back here to edit because when we called to pick up my grandmother's belongings after she had passed away we only got some of her things! They didn't pack any of her pictures with her stuff, one being a picture of her and my grandfather from their wedding day, a bunch of pictures of her and her great grandchildren, a tv, amongst other things. We had to call to ask them where the stuff is? And we got told "if it's here we'll pack it" and then told to call the administration which, I will say, is completely useless. We did receive the rest of her things a few days later. I also forgot to add that while she was alive this place repeatedly lost her hearing aids and we had to keep buying new ones! If you have a loved one here, get them out as soon as you can! Transfer them to a better place, a more caring place, a place that doesn't just see their patients as dollar signs.

The ability to ambulate was almost forgotten, meal times were a joke!! Patients that required feeding waited, if still in bed their meal stayed in the day room cold! Unless a complaint was made toileting didn't happen. Patients that weren't quiet were in reclining chairs as not to get up. Patients were left in urine if family members weren't there to advocate. In my opinion there are only a few good staff, they were short staff on weekends and the nursing staff except for med passing doesn't really interact with patients except if the patient is in front or behind the nurses desk. My family member regressed significantly in the month there. Black and blue marks from her head to her feet, sore on her foot, bruise on her forehead from a fall... it was heart breaking! Please don't put your loved one there and if you do be the biggest loudest advocate and keep your eyes open. The overall appearance is deplorable, needs painting, patient rooms need update, day room has little to no chairs and what they have are torn. Out side seating is horrible and most of the time people are out there smoking. Elevators were broken for weeks, activities were coloring or word search ( for stroke and dementia patients).

This is by far the worst nursing home in Fall River. While it may be good for short stays, anyone…read morewho is older and cannot take care of themselves should find someplace else for their loved one. My grandmother stayed in this nursing home for years (at her own request) until finding herself in an assisted living home which was much better. She told us stories of nurses not caring about people, not taking proper care of them, not changing them when they needed to be changed, and sometimes even physical abuse. Her clothes and personal belongings got stolen several times, her medication was messed up several times, and when she needed any medical or personal attention, the nurses never seemed to care and always sent her to the hospital instead of dealing with it themselves. They truly don't care about their job and a whole new staff should replace them. I didn't want to believe any of this until my sister, who a temp nurse, worked there this past weekend and said she has NEVER seen anything like it. All of my grandmother's stories were true. The place isn't up to code on ALMOST EVERYTHING. Do not bring your loved one to THIS kindred location. It may be the worst in the whole state.

When I was presented with a choice of 3 NH to choose from I did not hesitate to choose Crawford for the care of my Mom. The Nurses, CNA's, Social Work Department, discharge planning, Occupational and Physical therapy departments were great. My mother was treated with respect and dignity and was well cared for. The Nurses answered my questions and addressed my concerns satisfactorily. Mom especially liked bingo! Other Residents and families reached out to help my Mom adjust to her new surroundings. I would like to especially thank Laura & Melissa (nurses) Jess and Paulina (CNA's), Connie from Social Work Department and Melissa from discharge planning. These individuals are caring, compassionate and helped me to have peace of mind while my Mom was there. Should she need further services Crawford will be my first choice to care for my loved one. I highly recommend this Nursing Home. Thank you everyone. RachelBoutin

DON'T BRING YOUR CHILD HERE IF THEY HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS. My…read moreson has been going to Dr. Tural's office for 1 year he keeps putting off my sons needs. I had to fight like hell to get him a referral to the Fernandez Center after it being obvious my son has developmental delays. The office at the time had said they put the referral through I waited 2 months calling the Fernandez center finally only to find out Dr. Tural office NEVER put the referral in. Called complained finally got the referral 3 months in. Then the Fernandez center wait list is so long we get out on it for about a year. My son obviously has autism he works with Occupational Therapist, speech therapist, Early invention and well early intervention can only service my son till he is 3 and coming up on that date soon he will be aged out with no help. Meanwhile, South Bay's ABA specialist were more concerned about my son than his own Dr managed to get me a evaluation to diagnose my son very fast with in weeks. Now he has a Dr he's seeing next week I met with her last week and did the intake she requested that I go to my son pediatrician for referrals to suite my sons needs after his diagnosis of autism she wanted me to get a developmental pediatrician, another OT for at home, A neurologist and a eye and ear Dr so we can make sure that his eyes and hearing aren't adding to his delays. Not only does he lie to me and tell me my sons to young to have his eyes check and questions why I need these referrals who told you to get them the whole time he's not actively listening to me. At this point I can see what going on and I ask him the question that really matters... Is your office gonna be able to meet my sons need and requirements as a disabled child if he's diagnosed with autism next week. And his answer was "I don't know we will have to see" That's it enough said I pulled my son out of there right away and signed over his medical records to another office that can. If your child has a disability don't bring them to this office Dr Tural will let your child fall behind and his office never fills out paper work in time referrals you wait forever and if you child happens to need diapers prescribed you'll be waiting forever for those prescriptions because Dr Tural does not care about your child with special needs. And also to add to that if you want your child's medical records from there it will be a long wait and it will cost you.
