I like Sarco - quite a bit. My one complaint is getting items to ship quickly (once they are out the door its fast). Maybe I am too used to Amazon and getting spoiled. Having said that - Sarco is a gold mine for hard to find stuff - lots of inventory and really good pricing - I don't think they are trying to rip me off with a "we know what we have here" attitude. I see myself doing business with them for many years. I bought some reproduction german rifle magazines that did not fit well at all....dremel work and they fit fine - look to be a great purchase. I dont think it was the quality of the product, they are just fine. I think it was matching a quirky 1945 rifle with a new product. I had a ton of fun doing the modifications anyway! Have bought from Sarco a number of times, good prices, fast shipping, but they are over-cautious in some respects. They won't ship NON-firing replica guns like Denix to Massachusetts, despite the state allowing them, and other companies shipping them here. They won't sell you a pre-1898 rifle and ship it directly to you, it has to go to a licensed dealer, then you get it from the dealer. Makes no sense as federal law requires NO permit, license, or inspection to buy and own a rifle or pistol made in or before 1898, which cannot accept modern ammunition. Have had European dealers in antique guns ship directly to me, so go figure. read more

I've placed many orders with them, one of the few places with old military parts. Their descriptions and photos aren't always the best, but most parts have come as expected. The only real bad thing is their ship time. I just placed an order Friday afternoon. I got an email Wednesday morning that my order shipped. Wednesday evening I checked the tracking and it hasn't been picked up from Sarco. You can expect a wait, but many parts are original wartime items at pretty good prices. read more

Drove 6 hrs. from western PA. Walked all the isles of a very interesting gun shop. When I couldn't find any of the approximately 30 parts I came for , I enquired at the front counter. A nice older gentleman told me that all those parts are at another facility and I would not be able to pick up today. So just be advised that just because it's listed in the catalog does not mean it is available at the showroom. the prices where about 20% higher than other mail order sites but I thought I would help a home state business. read more

AVOID buying the Springfield 1903 parts kits WITH the "NEW BARREL and RECEIVER" these 2 items are reproduction and raw. The receiver is a cast blank needs a lot of work, the barrel at least it's threaded but no markings since it's repro and bare metal. That's why when you order it is "REQUIRED" you to order the barrel and receiver otherwise they won't let you have the parts kit to complete your restoration. Ordered it on-line and I don't want to deal with all the caca de toro so I'll just bite the barrel. Now I have an expensive vehicle hood prop rod and a NINJA defense weapon. read more

After viewing Sarco's offer for Chinese Type 53 barreled receivers for $150.00 I decided to visit the store in Easton to purchase 2 of them. After not seeing any on the showroom floor I asked an employee if they were on site. The employee had a look on his face as if this was the last place he wanted to be on Saturday. He told me that the receivers were taken downstairs to be turned into complete rifles and that I could not make the purchase. Instead of the store getting a $300.00 purchase from me, it go nothing. Rule #1 in any business: NEVER TURN DOWN A SALE! I am a long time customer but no more. My money is good anywhere. I am very disappointed with Sarco. Inc. After several very lengthy and bewildering conversations with their staff in the parts department, (who seemingly did not have ANY working knowledge of what they sell...) I ordered an item that I had found on the website. Given the fact that they told me 3 times that they never sold this item, nor anything like it, I had to resort to giving the item number, from their website, and then direct them how to find it on the website. Ultimately they begrudgingly acknowledge that they actually sold that item. In retrospect, it was not a surprise that a week later, I received a completely different item. I contacted Sarco, Inc. the same day that I received the incorrect item, and from the pictures I supplied their customer service agent, Liz Heisler, she immediately confirmed that they had made a mistake. However I was then relegated to a different number to ask for an RMA. This individual stated that they wanted me to pay for the return shipping. I questioned this during the dialogue I had to go through to obtain an RMA (no easy process) and she promised to reimburse me for all the shipping and handling, once the returned item was received and confirmed to be incorrect. Now, over a month after the tracked item was received by Sarco, Inc., I have had to refute the cost with my credit card agency and Sarco has gone radio silent. Again, I was dealing with a woman by the name of Liz Heisler (lheisler@sarcoinc.com) and she continuously told me that they "we are going to to do the right thing and refund all of (your) costs" and that I "needed to be patient with them". However, it was not lost to me that she seemed both frustrated and perplexed when I called her every 10 days to check on the status of my refund. Bottom line, despite the fact that their employees are polite on the phone, everyone I have dealt with at Sarco, from the numerous people in the parts room, to the customer service department, seem to have little or no working knowledge of the items that they sell and are totally disinterested in terms of "doing the right thing" or customer satisfaction. Dealing with them is the working example of Caveat emptor. Since they do not know what they are doing (and evidently do not care what they are doing), proceed only if you have NO other option. Otherwise, be prepared to be disappointed/frustrated. read more

I have mixed feelings about this shop. As an experienced shooter I have though this place was pretty cool. They had a barrel of K-98 rifles and a barrel of double barrel shotguns ($125 or $150 respectively). There were bins of parts for some popular guns including Garands, 1911's and AR's for super cheap. They had bulk cases of ammo, a wide selection of military surplus gear and a big selection of reloading supplies. Prices were very reasonable. My only reservation was that the place felt like a warehouse. I would be hard pressed to send a new or inexperienced shooter, or someone looking to buy their first gun to this shop. The staff was friendly and helpful, it just had kind of a dingy vibe to it. read more

I have been dealing with SARCO since the early eighties. Lately, the company has gone right in the toilet ! Almost seven weeks ago I sent back several items for a refund. At the time it was explained that once the received the items, they would check them out and then a refund would be issued. For the last three weeks, I've spoke with their accounting department and the same answer, "a refund will be issued be issued today" Just one false hood after another. Now, I have to see if the credit card company can help or (even though I'm disabled)show up on their front door to confront them. Some companies have no honor left at all. read more

BEWARE!! I purchased an Enfield rifle bundle. Ad claimed 'Good-Very Good' condition, yet mine arrived w/ rust and corrosion on all metal surfaces including the chamber and the bore. I called them about it, and Perlena said they grade 'based on what's available'-NOT the uniform grading system. Then i complained about the packing job(a 5yr old could do better)the rifle was only wrapped in a piece of paper and put in the box w/ a few handfuls of foam peanuts--TERRIBLE! I have done lots of business with Sarco for the past 40 years when they were in NJ they were close to my home and i visited almost daily. When they move to PA I usually visit at least monthly. Today I had a experience that makes me question if I'll ever return. I drove out and spent almost an hour wandering the showroom and viewing the shotguns as a new trap gun is in my future. While wandering I noticed a two pack of 5.7x28 Ruger magazines on the peg board. My son in law whoo lives down south recently received a ruler 57 for Christmas and I though he'd appreciate a couple of extra mags for it so I took the package up to the register to pay. well the guy behind the counter asked me for my driver license Which I though was strange so I handed it to him and he pushed it back to me and said I can't sell them to you. I asked why he and all he said was because there not legal in your state (NJ). I said I know that but I'm in PA where they are legal and he looked around me and said next. I ordered a parts kit for M16A1 everything but a barrel and lower receiver. They sent the lower receiver parts only, no stocks no upper receiver no bolt carrier group just the lower receiver parts in a tiny bag so I complained they sent out the remainder of the kit which showed up without the slip bring without the slip bring spring without the slip ring clip rang without the forward site bracket that houses the hand guards and I had to go back again and ask for replacement parts for the stuff that was missing from a kit that I paid in full and they have yet to ship me. I complain again and get no response for 3 days I complain again and get a response that says my A2 delta ring is in shipping. My kit is the A1 version and uses the slip ring. These guys have no idea what they are doing. I ended buying the missing parts from their competitor so I could continue my build. No apology, no refund nothing. Sarco is a unique store, but their ads are amusing. Everything is, "just a few", "found in the warehouse", "few only", "just got in a small shipment", etc., etc. Their ads must be written by a retired carnival barker. Good service, though, but the $20. minimum order means you always have to order up if you just want one simple part. Much of what they stock is 'parts' kits, you need to be a machinist or gunsmith to put stuff together. I placed an order in March with Sarco or items that I wanted to get but did not need immediately and that was when they had the big storm and my order was being delayed due to the weather. Which was no problem. I got an offer for Free Shipping when I placed my order. So I was patient. I got a couple o eMails asking bout placing my order so Ii called up and the person I talked to was veery nice. Some o the Items were out of stock so they asked if they could sen out the items that were in stock. I let it to their discretion. When I got the eMail invoice of the item I was shipped, I saw that I was charged for shipping I immediately called and they had me send the email of my original order. They realized their mistake and immediately reimbursed my credit card. As far as Joshua's issue they may have smelled a Liberal Commie casing out the place. I travel all over the east coast for work and enjoy stopping in gun shops as I get the chance. Sarco I bought from many times online and was very happy to have the chance to visit the store. I own many vintage guns and loved the showroom as it had many interesting items. On the way out I then asked about 1928 Thompson parts. The older gentleman behind the counter started to talk to me about not having too many in stock. I had quite a few parts I planned to buy and said "I assume you have the parts online in stock?). Well this must have set off the young guy behind the counter working with a mailman as he started literally to go off at me about how does he answer that. Well you guys lost a sale in parts that is more than you will pay that employee this month, and I will just go back online. You are not the only guys that sell gun parts, you should tell the kid to keep his mouth shut when adults are doing business. The older gentleman was very professional, hire more like him.
