Dr. Calas was recommended to her by her primary care NP. After waiting a month to be seen and then waiting an hour after our arrival to be seen by the doctor, I have to say it was well worth the wait. Dr. Calas introduced himself, mentioning that he has been a neurologist for 30 years. As we proceeded through the appointment, his vast experience and expertise became quite apparent. He began by carefully reviewing my mom's history and asking many important questions. To gain a clearer understanding of her condition, he had her perform a variety of simple tasks. All the while, I was impressed at how he showed her the utmost respect. We appreciated that Dr.Calas took the time to explain her condition in a way that we could really understand. None of her previous neurologists had ever taken the time to be so clear, nor were they as capable in diagnosis. Before we scheduled our next appointment, he adjusted her medications, ordered bloodwork and an MRI. I can honestly say to anyone who is reading this and looking for a good neurologist, you will receive excellent care with Dr. Calas.

In any case, RUN don't walk to any other primary care doctor in the area. This one is not open for business. they are a waste of your time. i'm not really sure "who" their clientele actually is and what the criteria s for qualifying. I have experienced discrimination before, but not so blatantly and openly, for zero reason.

At no point did anyone from the office contact me to explain what I needed to bring or verify that everything was in order. Since most insurance companies no longer issue physical insurance cards, I had already uploaded my insurance information and ID through the portal. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told there was an issue with my insurance and that I couldn't be seen. The staff was not helpful in explaining the problem or offering a solution. I called my insurance company while I was in the office, and they confirmed that, based on my plan, I should have been able to see any provider. Instead of helping resolve the issue, the office created unnecessary obstacles that ultimately prevented me from being seen. I wasted 30 minutes of my day and left without receiving any care. My experience with the front office and customer service was extremely disappointing. Before scheduling an appointment here, I would recommend making sure every insurance detail has been verified in advance, because the office does not appear to do this proactively. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

Most importantly he practices old fashioned medicine (albeit in a state of the art office suite); he listens and makes careful evaluations with the goal being minimum treatments. In my case that meant "wait and see" follow-ups even though my ultra sound does show some venous insufficiency. Another doctor I had seen immediately said I needed SIX procedures without any real explanation. Dr Boyes is the man to see for real professional care.
