I had a great night's sleep and awoke refreshed despite a long and arduous trip the day prior. The innkeepers, Pickett and Mike, were so very friendly and accommodating. When my best friend and her family came over to visit, Pickett took all of us on a fascinating tour of her historic home. And when I had to checkout in the wee hours of the morning to catch an early flight, Pickett prepared some delicious, home-baked muffins for my trip!

The host, Pickett, is warm and welcoming and very eco-conscious. When we were there a new farm of solar panels were being installed.. Oak Grove takes you back in time to the early 1800's, over generations of Pickett's family - details of which Pickett shared, to our delight. Pickett gave us a tour of the plantation house and the guest rooms are just lovely and very well-appointed. We stayed in the "Library" - beautiful room with books of yesteryear lining the walls..and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was wonderful! - banana smoothie, fruit salad, spinach omelet, freshly made breakfast rolls and great coffee! My "grand-dog" romped around the plantation acres with Pickett's standard poodles, Bonnie and Nico and had a ball. I WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED FOR DAYS! Thank you Pickett!!

Very nice horse stables with large stalls. Park provides shavings, wheelbarrows, and water spigot on both sides for easy watering. Outside of the barn is a wash station, several hitching posts and mounting blocks. All sites have water and elec hook up, fire ring, picnic table, and are very level! The trails are well marked and maintained, and they are not challenging, I feel like it is for more relaxing and easy rides. Great place for newer riders and new horses to gain confidence on trails! The ladies at the main campground ranger station are very kind, knowledgeable, and willing to assist any way they can. I love the fact that there are two campgrounds for many reasons, but I don't appreciate non-horse campers being able to stay in the equestrian campground. The main one is for them where horses are not permitted. There are only 13 sites for equestrian campers and 48 for regular campers. If you forget something, run into a need, or want a meal, there is a huge Walmart, many stores, and restaurants nearby about 20-25 mins away.

We stayed in the Ole Miss room on the ground floor, which is large and comfortable with an adjoining enormous bathroom. The house sits on many shaded acres and is a short drive to historic downtown Clarksville. A delicious breakfast of fresh baked bread, Dutch cheese, egg soufflé, sausages, fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade jam, and strong Dutch coffee was served in the dining room. We enjoyed hearing from Martyn a brief history of the historic property, as well as their adventures searching, purchasing, and updating the quarters. What a treat! We highly recommend a visit to the Sunnyside Sisters Bed and Breakfast.
