Buzzing with the noise of happy conversations & the smell of home-cooked meals.
Sarmic Cafe, (just a bit down on Hood St) on the corner of Apollo Road, Bulimba, has turned this neighbourhood Street, into coffee & food hotspot.
It's hip, stylish, complete with quirky lights, & your attention upon entering is immediately drawn to the mysterious girl on the artistic wall.
There's an open plan kitchen, from where one can observe the chef creating some magic.
You'll also notice the cafe's delicious jars of homemade goodness, which are available to purchase (like we did!), of relishes & jams. Carrot jams, Capsicum jams, Sweet chilli relish, salted caramel, you name it, they have it.
Coffee is by Bear Bones Espresso.
The menu appears well priced, (all under $20), & if you're not after a proper meal, there's some lighter toasts and mueslis available.
With our bellies, forever debating "savoury" or "sweet", we opted for both.
We went with the Twice Cooked French Toast fresh fig, raspberry cream + ricotta, $15.50. Wow yum! This was an absolutely delightful dish. The fresh figs & ricotta was a match made in heaven with the dreamy raspberry cream.
We also had the Omelette with pulled pork, roast corn chilli, creamy garlic sauce $19.50.
Now this is an absolute EPIC omelette. They don't hold back with the serving at all. If you're looking for a filling dish, this is the one for you. Every element is perfect; the pulled pork, fresh herbs, caramelised onions, a hint of chilli with the creamy garlic sauce is a winner. Highly recommend this one.
It's a great cafe, serving up some good quality food & coffee & service is great despite how busy they get. Its a testament to their growing popularity & why people go there in droves.
Would definitely come back!
