I encourage everyone to read my previous reviews for all the details. I gave up my $15k refund in exchange for the right to post this honest review. On the other hand, before my own surgery, I saw all the 5-star reviews and zero 1-star reviews and thought that meant no 1-star reviews existed. I sincerely question that after my own offer of a full refund but only in exchange for my silence. Someone asked recently about the contact he asked me to sign in exchange for a full refund ($15,050) so I attached a photo of it. It reads (in part): "THAT I fully understand that from this day forward I will not speak about this case or Dr. Andrew P. Trussler, M.D. publicly (i.e. media- news, print, or electronic) or privately. Also, there will not further public (e.g. signage or voice amplification) or private demostrations (sic) nor discussing this case with any other persons. If I continue any of the above mentioned I am hereby notified I will incur treble civil penalties." It is very difficult to sue for medical malpractice in the state of Texas, and even then, the damages are capped at an amount that might not even be worth the trouble after the emotional drain and attorney's fees. There is very little accountability required. Be very, very careful about who you choose to literally trust with your life.

My tummy tuck in 2017 was in a hospital like setting, The Dr came in and the anesthesiologist asked a few questions as they were wheeling me out of the room then BAM! I was done and I was rushed out of the bed to go home because they had other surgeries. This time was so so much calmer and relaxing. I loved ALL the little things. The heated toilet seat, the cap that warms your head, the comfortable room you wait in. I chose Dr. Reid after a lot of research on doctors that had experience with the type of skin that has been "almost ruined" (my own words) from being stretched so much from weight and also doctors that managed pain well, because I'm a big baby! Dr. Reid also is incredibly warm and friendly, in addition to being BRILLIANT! When you're looking into plastic surgery of any kind you initially go "good Lord that's expensive", BUT... I will say this, you're going to see those nurses and that surgeon SO MANY times post-op and not be charged any more. They will answer emails and phone calls to calm you down and fit you in same day if you're experiencing any kind of concerns and just want them to take a look. I've never healed as well from anything... not even a paper cut, as well as I have from this surgery. I know Dr. Reid uses a special fancy pants cutting tool that aids in healing better, and wow...I can tell. I also highly recommend you ask for the information of the private nurse that you can hire to take care of you after surgery. If I hadn't done that for the first 24 hrs my family would have been sooo overwhelmed. They can get you her info, I don't want to give it out, as she's a separate business, but this just shows how much they care about the success of their patients...by offering extra support that can help you. Their office also is a big fan of lymphatic massage, which I'm all in for. They have a person on staff that does it and I think she helped my healing a ton as well! I still have a long way to go, as this type of surgery has long term swelling, but I've come so far. I can't say enough wonderful words about this team. I chose Synergy because my sister had a wonderful experience there a few years ago, so I went into…read moremy consultation with high expectations. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. Cosmetic surgery requires a tremendous amount of confidence in a practice. Unfortunately, I left feeling more like a price tag than a patient, and more like a scheduling problem than someone whose time, comfort, and vulnerability mattered. To start with the positives, the staff was friendly, and I fully understand that emergencies happen in a medical practice. I respect that the doctor prioritized a patient who needed immediate attention, and I would never fault a physician for taking care of someone in an urgent situation. My frustration comes from everything surrounding that emergency and how it was handled. I originally scheduled my consultation at the Austin location more than two weeks in advance. The day before my appointment, I was informed that Austin's AC was out and asked to drive to the Round Rock location instead. I expressed concern about the additional distance and asked whether I should simply reschedule. I was assured there was availability, told I would get to meet directly with a doctor, and offered a waived consultation fee for making the change. I adjusted my schedule, took the entire day off work instead of a half day, drove the extra distance, arrived early, completed my paperwork, and was brought back promptly. After a brief discussion, the doctor asked me to change into a robe so we could continue the consultation. After changing, I sat alone in the exam room for more than 45 minutes. One staff member did check on me about 20 minutes in and explained that the doctor had been pulled into an emergency. I appreciated the update. However, after that, there was no communication. No one offered me the option to reschedule, gave me an estimated wait time, or discussed alternatives. I sat there needing to use the restroom, feeling vulnerable, and wondering if anyone remembered I was there. Eventually, I opened the door myself and asked whether I should reschedule because it was clear the doctor would be occupied for quite some time. What bothered me most was not the emergency itself. It was the feeling that the practice tried to fit additional patients into a location that simply wasn't prepared for the increased volume. If the Round Rock office couldn't reasonably accommodate the added appointments, I would have preferred to be rescheduled from the beginning rather than spend roughly three hours driving round-trip and leave without the consultation I came for. By the time the doctor returned and offered to continue, the trust was gone. During my wait, I also witnessed another patient leave after expressing frustration about an extended delay and wanting her time respected as well. I genuinely believe Synergy has many satisfied patients, including my sister. However, first impressions matter--especially when deciding whether to trust a practice with elective surgery. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future patients. Unfortunately, after this experience, I chose not to move forward with treatment through Synergy.
