I've been floating at Satori for a year and a half now. I am a body worker and my massage therapist I was trading with urged me to go! Best recommendation from a professional! I have since gifted sessions to colleagues and tell everyone to experience it! I've tried 60, 90, and 2 hour sessions; up to now, 90min has been perfect. My last visit I decided to try the mind spa and that was seriously next level! The synchronization of the music in the head phones, vibrating table pad and what I've been calling "light dancing" glasses, was unreal! I did this for 30min and then floated for 90min. I ended up getting out of the tank before my session was complete because I was ready. So 30min mind spa + 1hr float is where the total relaxation is at for me! I visited Satori based on the recommendations of my therapist and several friends. I've dealt with anxiety and depression issues for most of my life, and have recently been looking for treatments besides medication to deal with it. I've found that breathing exercises, regular aerobic exercise and acupressure/acupuncture work well for day-to-day purposes, but it's necessary to supplement these with something more, especially during high-stress periods. Massages and visits to traditional spas work well, but it's nice to mix things up sometimes, and neither of these activities give me the isolation I need to truly calm my body and mind down. That's where Satori comes in. It's pretty much impossible for me to put into words the sensations of floating--all I can say is that it's a feeling that seems completely foreign yet completely familiar at the same time. I've heard it compared to being weightless in space or going back to the womb, but seeing as I've never experienced the former and don't remember the latter, I'll just say it's an amazing experience that has to be tried...and retried. While Satori is mostly known for the flotation tanks, they also offer "mind spa" services. The Mind Spa is essentially a message table outfitted with subwoofers that are triggered (along with light glasses that must trigger REM or something, because it gives you some amazing closed eye visions) by the music playing through your headphones. I described it to a friend as "the sensation of lying on a huge, purring cat on a sunny day outdoors with you eyes closed". Truly a unique experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and in no way as new-agey or spaced out as you'd imagine (which is great, because I have a fairly low tolerance for that). They take their services very seriously and use them themselves, and as such can give great advice to beginners or advanced users. Highly recommended! read more

My experience was wonderful. Ron was very kind and helpful. He took all of the Covid precautions and that made it comfortable. He very patiently explained everything. The float itself was quiet and calming. It is like getting a massage without a person. I highly recommend this way to provide self-care. I haven't been here. I never though I'd write a review for a place I haven't been, but I have a very good reason... A few months back, I had to move away from the love of my life, and it's been incredibly hard on us. Before I moved from VT, he had started going to Satori Float spa and always came back incredibly refreshed and grounded. I never got the chance to go because I was always busy working on my dissertation but I really wanted to go. Fast-forward to now, I'm in the DC 'burbs and he's up in VT...if he has a bad day there's very little I can do to comfort him except listen to him and offer whatever advice I can think of. But once, after a particularly stressful week, I had the idea to see if I could somehow get him a gift card to the float spa as a surprise. Of course, I jumped on google, and found the website....and YES! Buy online..fantastic! I read the disclaimer on the widget that they're still working out the kinks of online gift buying but I thought I'd try it anyways. Well. I got an error. Okay, try try again. And, no dice. So I called up Rahn, and he was incredibly understanding and helpful. He got me straightened out, and even though he was getting ready to close shop, he stayed on the phone with me until we were sure that everything had been taken care of and Ti would be getting an email gift card soon. Well it all worked out, and a week later, I got a call from a freshly floated and relaxed guy :). Well, now, around the holidays we're all stressed. The distance has been rough, and there have been significant unexpected events that have weighed on both of us. And I offered Ti a float session as an early Christmas present, which he accepted but I was again unable to get the interface to work. So I left a message on the Satori float spa's voice mail, and soon after Rahn called me, and even let me set up the next available appointment. not only that, he emailed Ti telling him of the appointment and was able to get my invoiced through email and stayed with me on the phone incase there was a problem with the payment. Ron keeps the spa spotless and neat from the rooms to the showers to the tanks. The neatest of neat freaks wouldn't find anything to fix. This environment makes for a safe, relaxed experience from when you first step into the spa to when you step out of the float tank ultra relaxed. It is like a 2 hour message and a session with your therapist rolled into one hour--for a fraction of the price. I highly recommend Satori. read more

The only place in the area to float! The owner is very accommodating and will make sure you have a safe and pleasant voyage. Ear plugs and goggles are provided, and I would recommend taking advantage of them. See what remains when your senses aren't being bombarded, it will be rewarding. read more

We were first time floaters and had a great experience. Olympia explained everything to us very thoroughly and recommended the mind spa table as a nice juxtaposition to the tank - which it was - the vibrations from the subwoofers was a uniquely pleasant experience but it did take some time to get used the lights. 30 minutes went by so quickly. The place is spotless - the showers and changing area, as well as the anteroom were immaculately clean. We took off our shoes at the door. The float itself was relaxing, although I think with more "practice" I could get more out of it just in terms of really shutting my mind off - the problem with the age we live in I suppose. Next time I'll have the music play throughout as my husband enjoyed doing that, but I had it play for the a few minutes at the beginning and then fade out thinking I'd prefer the silence. We had a coupon, but the regular price is a little expensive for us to become regulars. This would be a special occasion thing. read more

I've been researching float spas for a while and finally decided to give it a try at at Satori. It was very clean and comfortable in the room and the experience of floating was awesome. I chose to float with 30 minutes of meditative music and 30 minutes of silence. With and without the music it was a very relaxing and somewhat "otherworldly" experience. I was a little nervous before trying this out - but I have to say it was probably the most relaxing thing I have ever done. Adjusting to the "lack" of gravity and outside sensations allowed my brain to breathe. It's a completely private/solitary experience, but there are many ways to tailor the experience to the user - you can have music, light, heat - anything to make it comfortable. It was unique, soothing, and refreshing. Rahn was super friendly and open to any questions/reservations. This was much more relaxing than a massage - try it out!
