(who had been busy cleaning the floors), was quick to get creative - sold us the amount we needed as a "pizza topping" - perfect. Electric vehicle ran out of battery and we asked if we could plug in fo a few minutes to be able to make it to a charging station 3 miles away and they said no :( Very frustrating and disappointing. We offered to pay for the electricity and everything. read more

@VisitLeadville This whole experience made me smile and laugh. I needed beverage. I was in Leadville, Colorado. Something was going down in Leadville. A race of some sort. Not sure what kind of race. There were signs for the event. There were sgns for event staging areas. There was definitely signage. As for the event itself, I could not research it or find anything about it on the city website or social media. This smallish local grocer, since July 2001, was a little rustic. It was, however, filled with bait, tourist wares, snacks, groceries, retail items of necessity and liquor. There were two registers. One was for the liquor. The liquor reg! Saturday's is a household name in Leadville. I witnessed a credit card machine receipt paper roll change. It was an odd dance of spooling the paper, by the feet, by the crazy feet, before finally installing it into the slot because it was the wrong size. It was wasteful as heck. And she did it twice; tossing the waste into a filthy trash can. All I kept thinking about was the bisphenol-A (BPA) chemicals from the paper absorbing into the poor clerks skin. I got my beverage and snacks after waiting in a brief line as the people across the counter in the liquor line paid for their 12 pack of Coors and a handle of cheap gin. It was a surreal experience. They have everything you need for camping or fishing: gas, liquor, snacks, live bait, and fishing licenses, just to name a few items. The store is large and a bit rough around the edges but it is reliable. I'm not sure why they consider themselves "discount" since prices are kinda high on some things but maybe that's to be expected from a place that's on the edge of the middle of nowhere. Thankfully, they have a clean bathroom, which is always nice before a camping trip or in the midst of a long drive. read more

The head manager of this establishment has no idea what costumer service means. I showed up at around noon to get a propane bottle filled. At the time there was a steady line of customers, so the manager told me that they were short staffed. I told her that I completely understand the problem with being short staffed because my job is short staffed too. The problem is, being short staffed is not an excuse to be an ass hole to your customers. At the same time, my sister was attempting to purchase a pocket knife out of cabinet on the other side of her table. The manger was too "busy" to walk across the counter to open the cabinet. Long story short, Saturday's has horrible service! I would advise anyone about to shop here to find a better gas station down the street closer to Leadville. Saturdays isn't worth your time especially that manager. read more

Saturdays or as we like to call it The Green Shed, is a must stop on the journey through Leadville toward Buena Vista, Turquoise Lake or Independence Pass. Under new ownership the store has been transformed into a one stop shop for all basic needs plus an exceptional stop for fishing and hunting needs. Hot and ready pizza, sandwiches with a well stocked liquor store you don't really need to stop anywhere else for basic needs. read more

I am a local,who has had a wonderful experience with this business. They have excellent groceries for a general store and far better sliced turkey and sliced ham than Safeway has. I am seriously handicapped and they help me buy groceries, carry them for me, etc., every step of the way. I buy all my gas there. The personalized attention is fantastic. read more
