There are softball fields, a kids play grounds, plenty of hiking trails and a beautiful large lake and dock. We spent a few hours hiking the trails. They are well maintained and the views are breath taking. The lake is large and beautiful and looks to house several species of fish. There is a board walk and two floating docks on each side for shore fishing. We plan to come back with our kayaks for a day of fishing. There are picnic tables and a few BBQ grills. Perhaps a picnic lunch and then kayaking. The park is dog friendly with a leash. Lots of people walking and enjoying the quiet scenery and fall weather. You won't want to pass up West Ashley Park.

There were kids there from the camp being held at the rec center next door, but they were very polite. There are three playground sets, two adult swings, two baby swings, a basketball hoop, large field area, hopscotch and rocking horses. The equipment was hot since there isn't a whole lot of shade, but it didn't stop my kid from going down the slide six hundred times. There were quite a few ant hills around the "wall" of each jungle gym set, so be cautious. I got bit a couple times. I didn't really see any bugs in the mulch. I'll probably come back here with my daughter sometime since it's not too far away.
