I had a loop recorder installed by Dr Mitesh Amin MD at Cardiology Associates of Richmond in 2017…read more After it was installed, they did not follow up with me. I called and the receptionist said if they see anything they will let me know. I had pressed the button a few times and no response. I even unplugged the device entirely for 4 months and no response . I even called the office and left quite a few msgs and nobody ever called back. After a year I went into the office to schedule an appointment and the receptionist told me I had to call and make an appointment. Again I would call on multiple occassions and nobody ever followed up. I gave up and waited another year-and received a letter stating they had not heard from me and wanted to let me know they are assuming I have another doctor UNBELIEVABLE. I have been having issues with the loop recorder and want it removed. I called in 2023 multiple times and spoke to their on call who said they would ensure they got the message -they were always out of the office or at lunch or something when I called. I was able to go online and schedule an appointment 3 -4 months out. Today 9/19/23 I received an automated message stating they had cancelled my appointment that was scheduled for 9/20/2023 and to call. I did speak to someone who told me that they dont handle loop recordeers and to call another number. DO NOT GET A LOOP RECORDER-they dont monitor they dont follow up with patients and they dont respond to messages left which they insist you leave. In research I have done the loop recorders should be removed after 3 years. Dr Amin had told me it just stays in your body. I am having major issues with the loop recorder moving around , trying to break through the skin. MY opinion is -- that is was an opportunity to make money from the company which is Medtronic and I am doubtful that it was even a necessary thing I had installed. I am beyond furious with this company. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I hope my experience is an isolated case and others have had a wonderful experience with their doctor and loop recorder. Just felt compelled to pass along my experience with others.

Dr.Gilligan recently saw my daughter who has a heart condition. He admitted her to Chippiham…read moreHospital because her heart rate was extremely high which is the reason we were there. As we left his office to go a staff member told us our insurance approved it. We get there and he has ordered several tests that evening and the next day ,he thought it was a condition called POTS . When she took her medicine of course it controls her heart rate for several hours but it still runs in the 90 to 100 and over range. Then it dropped so low that she was sick. That is a problem with the medication and it also makes her dizzy to the point of almost passing out. The tests came back negative one by one but we and the great nurses their at the hospital kept and keep saying something is wrong with her heart. After her being admitted we saw Dr.Gilligan the next day for about 5 seconds as he came in the room barely said anything then walked back out, then he was suppose to come see me (the mom) after one test and he never came to talk to me. That evening he came in and I went to the door to block it just to keep him in there and talk to us as human beings because he had told me the latest test was negative and was about to leave again !!! We are beyond frustrated so I stood in front of the door he said he ruled out POTS and when pushed threw out a diagnosis and basically told her it was in her head -stress and anxiety and she needed to lose weight exercise and get healthy!!!!!!!! Can you imagine then says oh your insurance declined to pay so it's on you !!!!! I was speechless at his arrogance and rudeness and flippant attitude!!! I wouldn't let him treat my dog let alone my daughter of 24 years old again!!! He is THE worst doctor I have ever met ! He smiled at my daughter when she asked why her heart rate runs so high and the medicine helps some but causes dizziness low blood pressure and bouts of wanting to pass out. As he was smiling he said he had no idea and the diagnosis he gave he just guessed it might be that told us to look it up really ? Well we did when we got home and it is more a cardiac issue then head !!!! We don't recommend him and if i were you I'd run the opposite way if you were referred to him. He is insensitive and uncaring!!!
