We were excited to use this company for our wedding, as is very popular in town. After several meetings with lots of pictures and warehouse visits to see products that were supposed to be used. We had a final meeting to view reception table, made small changes , then we agreed on price etc. Well we were basically ripped off. Half the flowers were smaller, not agreed upon, wrong colors, stands not used, boquet wrong color,etc. we got half the flowers then discussed, wrong colors in canopy, canopy half done, even the small changes we made at last visit were not fixed! I am so upset! I am very detail oriented and specific with lots of photos, clarifying, and planning. I do not feel I could have done anything on my part to be more specific. I recommend NEVER giving your time or money . When I first met Jim he was nice and wrote the order down in front of us and thought it was take care of . When I kept sending emails he never responded and when I called he talks about orders I never had added and my order with like flowers for the cake and tables and forgot the grooms order. It completely shocked me cause we talked face to face and he wrote down what I actually ordered and on the phone it was like a different order.As I tried talking to him he kept talking over and never got my words in and his voice yelling some points and talked down to me . Then the price he gave before when I went to the shop completely Charged up More even when I took the orders that I never ordered in the first place. I had to cancel cause I felt uncomfortable and felt taken advantage of. I kindly told him that I need to cancel. He yells saying I won't get my deposit back and says that was in the invoice in the email. Both phone conversation was Jim talking over and yelling and acting like it was his wedding. As I said in the beginning he never sent me anything at all and never sent the invoice. When I told him he got more mad cause it was true he never emailed me so I was never informed and needed my deposit cause I needed my money I worked hard for it for the wedding. When I begged he hung up on me . He hung up on a customer begging for the money I've been saving for the wedding And has never responded my email as he never did in the beginning. I begged and cried that I lost money for the wedding . I never flet this much mistreatment and planning the wedding I had so much and this man that thinks he can talk to people like very disrespectful and inconsiderate of the customers feeling what he did and took my money and never communicated with creating new charges and all of sudden I couldn't get my deposit back again money for the wedding taken. I have been in the flower business for 20 years and have never been to a worse Wholesale market for flowers. First of all it's absolutely impossible to find this location, no signage whatsoever, then trying to get directions was misled to the wrong location. Once arriving I was led to a very small selection of flowers most of which had been sold. The prices were three times retail! Not wholesale. I have never seen more expensive flowers. With such a small selection. Would not recommend this place or any of its affiliates. read more

Unfortunately a horrible experience with Sav On Flowers. I called and spoke with the owner several weeks before my sister was coming to visit. I ordered a large arrangement of freesias which I was assured were available. Made arrangements to have my husband pick up the flowers the day my sister was arriving. When he got there, there was no freesias nor did the owner offer to make up something else. nor did I get a call that the freesias were not going to be available. Im a fairly new reviewer but i should have done this one already. I am not a flower expert but i know what good service and good value for your money is. I have used Sav On Flowers several times including for my daughters wedding (done in our back yard). I cannot say enough good things about the help, advice and attention we got from Sav On. Any family who has ever done a wedding will know all about the stress and pressure of pulling it all together and as good as my wife and daughter were about taking care of the details, its still a Huge deal! When I saw the flower crew from Sav On walk in calmly on the wedding day, set up in the house, then drive over to where the bride and groom parties were all getting ready, found the groomsmen, the bridesmaids, took care of making sure everyone had their flowers, it was like 'we' really knew what we were doing. ( I had no idea but trust me Sav On did) I was just so impressed because the whirlwind of stress that seemed to be everywhere else, was no where near the beautiful flowers and boquets they put together for the event, in plenty of time. This may sound too good to be true but this is an accurate account of what happened. The whole day went really well other than a loud motorcycle that took off in the neighborhood right as they were saying 'I Do' hey you cant make this stuff up! I would never use anyone but these guys for any type of occasion you need flowers for, they are true pros! read more

This was the best experience we had planning my daughters Tucson wedding. Jim was fantastic, encouraged us to put all the arrangements together even though we had never done that before. He guided us through the process and my daughter even made her own bouquet. Her flowers cost half of what she had budgeted and she got more arrangements than planned. This was a very rewarding experience, at the wedding everyone kept saying how amazing the flowers looked and when they were told we had done all the arrangements they couldn't belive it. Must mentioned being from Oregon most of the planning was done long distance and communication with them was easy, always returned calls and emails. Flowers never arrived for grandma's funeral because they forgot. I accompanied my mother and sister-in-law to order flowers for my grandmother's funeral. We went to SavOn Flowers as they had done my brother & sister-in-law's wedding flowers 20 years ago and had done a great job at a good price. We had a little trouble finding the place but once there Mr. Stith was helpful, although a bit long winded in telling stories of his family business. Still, he was nice and offered advice on standing flower displays for a funeral service. He wrote up my mom's & my sister-in-law's orders, the prices seemed very reasonable for the size of the displays they had ordered. We clearly stated that the funeral would be on the coming Sunday. He inquired if they could deliver the flowers to the funeral home on Saturday, as they were closed on Sundays. He was told no, the funeral home doesn't take deliveries on Saturdays (no idea why, but that's their policy). Mr. Stith said no problem, even though their shop wasn't open on Sunday's he assured us they could still do Sunday deliveries. He took the orders, the delivery address, and payments. Sunday morning arrives. My mom is already dealing with the loss of her mother and making sure all the funeral arrangements are going smoothly. She walks into the viewing area and sees several beautiful bouquets of flowers from family & friends. But neither her nor my sister-in-law's standing arrangements are there. The funeral home staff says they had no deliveries from SavOn Flowers. Thank goodness the casket spray was ordered through the funeral home or those would have been missing as well. My mother & Sister-in-law were upset to say the least. They paid $135 & $100 respectively and then to not even have the flowers delivered?! I am now glad I forgot my wallet that day, or I would have ordered from them too. We called Jim the following day for an explanation. His excuse -- he forgot. ?!?! Really?! You are a professional florist, weddings & funerals are your bread & butter, and you simply forgot? At least Jim felt terrible and apologized profusely. They were both given a full refund. But really? Too little to late. At the very least I feel he should send my mom & sister-in-law each a nice "sorry" arrangement of flowers & have another bouquet sent to the gravesite. Won't be going back to SavOn Flowers. *** UPDATE: Mr. Stith send a letter of apology, a $100 gift card to Baggins, and a lovely bouquet of flowers to my mom. He was very embarrassed by the situation and admitted that they "blew it". At least he admitted their mistake and tried to make amends. read more

Horrible - just horrible! The flowers were delivered but it wasn't what we were shown a picture of. It was for my mom's funeral and Jim showed us a few pictures and I found one that I liked and asked if he could do that with carnations and he of course said yes. I had him do the one for the top of the casket and another one to match to stand next to the casket. There were 13 carnations between the two arrangements - 7 on the casket and 6 in the standing arrangement. The arrangements themselves looked like a bunch of weeds with a bit of ribbon and I do mean a bit of ribbon - there were hardly any other flowers to add any color to the arrangement. 300.00 dollars for weeds! Jim was wonderful, a true professional that knows his work and loves it. He is committed to the bride having the best experience on her wedding day with flowers. He helped us with my great niece's wedding. She is not one for a lot of flowers and when asked what flower she wanted in her bouquet she always said pink carnations. After many people telling her that wasn't a wedding flower i decided she would get what she really wanted. That is when I found Sav On Flowers and Jim. After Jim fielded a barrage of questions from the "Aunties" he finally got to meet the bride. He instantly understood her, but better yet, he showed her what he could do with pink carnations and she became a flower believer. He made all the flowers for the wedding party along with helping us pick flowers and make arrangements for various tables and room decorations. He also delivered our flowers on the day of the wedding and helped us rescue wilting plants that didn't even come from him. I had the worst experience for my wedding at Sav-On Flowers/Discount Flowers. Ever since the first day I stepped foot in the shop, the owner was a bit rude, but I decided to stay with them because they promised the lowest price, so i didn't really have another option. He had originally quoted me for $240, and at the trial, he raised the price to almost $600! At my trial visit, the owner was clearly irritated and rude, just because I would ask if he could take off flowers from the centerpieces (because I wasn't able to afford it). He would roll his eyes, and like a little kid throwing a tantrum, would go back to his computer to re-quote it. I took a lot of flowers off, and the price went down to $360. The whole experience made me feel very uncomfortable. But we were too close to the wedding so there was no time to get another florist. unfortunately that wasn't the end of my disappointments. I had scheduled a DIY option (in which you come in and make your flower projects yourself). The owner told me to come by at any point of the day I had scheduled. He just told me to make sure to call when I was on my way. That day, I called while I was on my way, he assured me that everything was "fine" and that one of his workers was there who will help us. When I got there, the worker told me that they were about to close in 15 minute! (I forgot to mention this was the day right before my wedding). She was really nice and promised that she would take care of it, since they were never clear about telling be about their closing hours. She promised that she would not charge me for the labor fee. The next day, (the day of my wedding), I get a call from the owner, nagging at me for not coming by on time the previous day, and complaining about how now he had to make the 8 simple centerpieces. He demanded I pay him the labor fee, and he was very rude about it too. Needless to say, this stressed me out a lot and I started crying, I was angry and frustrated the day of my wedding, and all just because of Jim (the owner). I paid him the money, and he promised they would come out beautiful. The flowers show up and it definitely was not worth what I paid. A lot of the flower stems were broken and the flowers dropped down. I definitely felt like I was taken advantage of. Save yourself a nightmare and don't go to this vendor, or go at your own risk. read more

Our experience with Discount Flowers has been an absolute nightmare. My daughters wedding is in November and we went to discount and spoke to Jim in March. He seemed pleasant enough, after bragging about himself and his business. My daughter brought a picture of the bouquet she wanted. He assured us he could do anything we wanted and had plenty of time stll. He said we could do the "do it yourself" program to save money. The 2nd visit, the end of September, we spoke to his employee. We picked out the flowers we wanted. She said alot of brides bring in their bridesmaids, and even wine, to do their own flowers. They guide you on how to put everthing together. Sounded fun so we chose to do that. 2 weeks before the wedding Jim called my daughter and told her to come in to make the final choice on flowers. Again she showed him her picture and he said "that's ugly". She wanted burgandy flowers he brought out purple. When corrected by his employee he snapped "well, im not going to argue with her!". He wrote out a quote which was $800.00 higher than her original quote. She ask if that was the price for her doing them herself. He said it was. I told her to not use him. As it was 2 weeks before the wedding she was extremely upset. I told her I had a feeling that that was how he operates by taking advantage of brides so close to the wedding do they feel forced to pay the inflated price. We fortunatly found someone to do her flowers for a much cheaper price, and she was very pleasant. Later my daughter found out a friend went to Discount Flowers and had the same experience. Her $500.00 price jumped to $1200.00 and she felt she had not choice to pay as it was too close to her wedding . DO NOT use them. I think Jim is a SCAMMER who takes advantage of people read more

2.5 Stars. This review is for the wholesale business of SavOn, at the 18th street location, versus an experience at their retail location on Speedway. I was a DIY bride wanting to arrange and choose my own flowers and so I explored the wholesale option that SavOn provides. I highly suggest calling ahead to make an appt to meet with Jim in person to walk you through the process, he's very nice, patient and knows the business inside and out. The business is in an unassuming office complex in an industrial area. There is a sign on the door and that's pretty much it to reassure you that, yes, you are in the right place. It's a family run business, which I love, and their dogs might make an an appearance :) The quality and selection of flowers will be better than anything you can get from the grocery store. If you are wanting anything specific or unique, they might be a good option. They will also let you put together your bouquets/centerpieces at the shop and store them in their fridge, which was very helpful! So, why 2.5 stars? I did not get the flowers I ordered. I was told it was due to weather, but nothing was ordered in its place, I wasn't told at any point that was the reason and when I called the day before to pick up, I was told everything was ready for me. I could go on about other little things, but at the end of the day, they didn't try to make things right after I reached out. These are nice people who offer a great service, I wish I had a better experience. If you go this direction, I would go with the following recommendations: research your bouquets/centerpieces and have pictures with you at your appt, get everything in writing while you are at the store, find out what day the order(s) would be placed and follow up with phone calls and a checklist based on your quote. we chose this florist based on a recommendation for my daughters wedding. we did wait until a week before the wedding but were assured that all would be fine. when the flowers were delivered half hour late they were already wilting and the roses were brown on the edges, the spider mums shook out as i took the bouquets apart to add roses from safeway. they were so skimpy the 4 bouquets looked like one. they were wrapped with green floral tape, no ribbon--i contacted the owner via his website after the wedding,no response. the table florals were simply plopped in our containers, no marbles, filler nothing, they had no design whatsoever, just put in the cylinder. i didn't save, it was over 700 for nothing of value, i could have put the same thing together from trader joes for 200 and wish i had . at the very least he should have contacted me in that i was unhappy and took the time to write him. not fresh flowers, a lot of talk and no quality. read more
