I was still traumatized by the fierceness of this storm and the extensive damage to all my new and existing gardens, and vowed not to use any contractor who used these tactics. The phone onslaught continued for weeks, supplemented by my doorbell being run on an almost daily basis. Early on, a friend who knew what I had been through recommended a roofing contractor she had used - Tom Krause at Advanced Construction Roofing (ACR) - and since he was NOT one of the ones who was badgering me, I contacted him to come out and take a look at the damage - but only after I had a chance to come to terms with the emotional aspect of the damage to my property. Tom was prompt and courteous and very respectful of my wishes, and worked with me over the summer to get the most complete compensation from my insurance company and recommend where best to spend that claim money. I ended up with an impact resistant roof, which lowered my insurance costs and increased my property value, and also replaced all of my gutters (instead of the few that the insurance company allowed), for just a very nominal investment on my part. I decided to wait until late fall to actually do the work to minimize the risk of another storm and another claim at my high deductible, and Tom never bothered me about that decision and came out numerous times, and personally oversaw the work, cleanup and inspection that followed. He even went out of his way to replace a screen that was not part of the hail damage that was tricky to fit and required several back and forth trips with the window company. I would highly recommend Tom and ACR. Top notch work and communication throughout the project.

They charged me for things they didn't even do. The ridge was crooked and on a 25 yr old roof, they didn't replace any of the plywood so the rug was wavy. The gutters overflowed with the first rain because they were filled with debris. Ultimately my insurance company paid but then cancelled my policy. ACR is actually in Littleton and not Lodo. Steer clear and save the huge headache. Happy to answer questions but want to save you from the same pain and suffering and terrible news roof that I experienced.

A couple of other roofers took a look and felt that it was a 50% chance to have our insurance cover it. Alex, Altitude Contracting, also thought it was about a 50% chance to have a successful insurance claim , but he said it was worth trying. We were initially turned down, but with a little prodding by Alex, the insurance company changed their mind and honored a full roof replacement. The rest of the process went very smoothly: HOA approval, Building Permit, shingle selection, additional changes, etc. The roofers were pleasant to work with. Very hard workers. They cleaned up every afternoon and upon completion left the area free of debris (nails). Communication from Alex throughout the process was exceptional. Would we use Altitude again? Yes we would.

The first time I had a hidden leak in my garage and they spent about an hour crawling around my roof and inside my garage. Once they identified the problem (which wasn't easy!), they took a bunch of pictures as it wasn't visible, explained the problem AND showed me the issue. They then came out and fixed it the next day for $400 which was a few hours of work with parts (I almost wanted to pay them more as I couldn't believe that is all it was). Fast forward eight months and I had what appeared to be either a roof leak or a window leak. Same experience... they arrived promptly, identified the issue, and fixed it the same day for $300. If you have any sort of roof problems- call these guys! They are timely, very cost effective, and super friendly. I wish all home maintenance companies were this easy to deal with.
