It's a huge warehouse full of antique furniture , clothes , toys , photos , home goods , shoes , etc! So the selection is vast . Service - the staff is wonderful. You can they really care about this place by the way they talk about their inventory. They're positive , friendly , helpful and are very welcoming . Value - clothes and home goods and toys are decently priced . Furniture is antique and in good condition however don't expect low thrift prices for those . Let's start with the good news, shall we? This store has a massive inventory of practically everything that you are looking for. This store is well organized and clean. This store has bathrooms that are also clean. This store has a sale going on many things. Some items are 40% off. So.. why am I giving it only 2 stars, you ask? The prices are outrageously high. Even after a 40% discount, the prices were still too high. My adult daughter and I really tried to love them to no avail. We spent about 10-15 minutes trying to find a treasure that was affordable. Extremely overpriced. The manager is very nice, but I think he's missing a fundamental concept of what makes a thrift store successful. Yes, it's easy to use Google Lens or search eBay and find similar items listed for high prices. What isn't being considered is that many of those listings sit unsold for months, sometimes even years. Asking prices are not the same as selling prices. The biggest difference is that this store receives its inventory for free through donations. Pricing items at or above online retail doesn't make much sense when customers still have to spend time digging through shelves instead of buying exactly what they want online. At that point, it's no longer really thrifting. A much better strategy would be to price items to actually move. Selling them for around one-third of the current prices would likely result in far greater sales volume and ultimately more revenue. Instead, it's common to see individual pieces of glassware, cups, or plates priced at $17 or more. A paper-and-cup tea set gets bundled together and priced around $30. That's not an exaggeration. The furniture is often priced between $200 and $600, and many paintings are listed for hundreds of dollars as well. The store is operating more like an antique shop than a thrift store, and it should market itself that way if that's the intention. It's disappointing because there's a lot of great merchandise here, but the pricing makes it hard to justify shopping. In many cases, you might as well order the item yourself online for about the same price without spending hours searching through the store. Unless the pricing strategy changes, I wouldn't be surprised if the store continues to struggle with sales. I never thought I would say this, but you'll get a better deal at goodwill. The previous location of Save A Life Thrift Store was small on Arneil in Camarill, 93010. This new location on Via Alondra in Camarillo, 93012 is huge and gorgeous, The staff are extremely helpful. It is great that every dollar goes to help cats and dogs. This is an outstanding non profit in Camarillo cares about customers who are treated like family. It truly improves animals' lives. Our family highly recommends you browse this non profit weekly for deals like 1/2 off of huge bags of dog food and cat food. I cant wait to see what community events it offers like animal adoptions. What a beautiful day at Savec A Life Thrift Store ! I visited their New Location located at 930 Via Alondra Camarillo, CA . I just happened to finish my recycle items, at Camarillo Recycling, just down the street and saw the nice Red Balloons and was happy it was Safe A Life Thrift Store celebrating their new location! It's nice and huge and I was able to pick up things; I needed that I have been putting off due to expense. I got quite a bargain today especially with their sale happening. I will still continue to shop here and support this beautiful cause. I used to come into the store and would get a couple items here and there when I first moved to Camarillo. I went in today to try to find a gold colored t shirt for a themed party and was extremely surprised by the steep price increase on everything. Items of used clothing for 50 dollars each and used stuffed animals for 30 dollars. Used costume jewelry for 35 dollars? Why are things priced so high? Ended up going to goodwill and got a gold button up for 5.99. They really should consider lowering their item prices. I'm sure the Goodwill is just taking up all of their clientele. read more

Upon entering I was greeted with a welcome and hello. This store is super clean, super organized and very neatly attention to details ! There so many varieties of things here. All kinds clothes, jewelries, toys, and fabrics . Their collectibles consist of paintings, records, antiques, dishes, dolls etc, whether it's vintage or modern a little bit of everything. Also whatever you buy here is going to a great cause too! I did find some collectibles wood artwork ! I so happy and excited I also found some other trinkets ! Their price points are spot on! I go the thrift stores often and understand that prices have increased over the years. This is not a thrift store but more of a resale store. Many of their items are unmarked and when asked for prices they explained they google lens and then make a decision. It is WAAAAYYY overpriced and if you're looking for a resale store and don't mind paying four to ten times the average thrift store in Southern California then it might be worth a stop, but save the gas if you're looking for a good actual thrift store. read more

I came across so many cute trinkets and got to speak to some staff that were super helpful. I swear the same clothing items are there that were there a year ago because no one is going to pay those prices. I love finding thrift stores in the county as I am always on the hunt for a book or bag. I hadn't yet been to this location but I finally did recently. It's a very small location. Very small. I felt mildly claustrophobic while inside looking around. I searched out this place as they help animals, so that's always a plus in my book (pun kind of intended). :) I'd imagine they get (new) items in periodically so I might make the effort to go by again. There was one young man I saw who was working here, nothing else. Lots of women's clothes and knick-knacky type things. On this visit there book section was very small as was their purses. However, you might find something you like or treasure, all while helping animals in need. Give this place a shot! You never know. :) read more

Before Covid, I used to come in here all the time as I'm an avid thrift shopper. They always have cool clothes and items here that are for the most part in very good condition. They always have great discounts off already cheap clothes, making for an even better bargain! They were closed for a while due to the pandemic but recently opened back up. They take your temp at the door, which I appreciate. Their employees are always super friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. Only drawback is when you go as much as I do, you rarely see a change in their inventory. That might be more of a me-problem, however. read more
