We found their sales and office staff to be very professional and we appreciated that Save Energy is an established local company. I was dubious that they could replace all of the doors in one day, but in minutes their large crew, led by Miguel, had removed everything, including all the interior and exterior molding and were examining and replacing rotten wood. They started working at around 8:30 am and were done installing at 3 pm! It was incredible! The doors are beautiful and the new interior framing around them is perfect. We found that one of the doors wasn't locking properly, so John Gorman, Save Energy's President, sent out Antonio a couple days later and he adjusted the hinges in minutes. We had Save Energy replace 2 French doors and 2 Sliders. We could have saved a few hundred by buying the doors separately and having another company install but we wanted one company to be responsible for everything. We had lots of bids and theirs was one of the best and they even came down a little from their initial estimate to secure our business. They were always very prompt, professional, and courteous. No loud music (or any music) and no smoking and cleaned up very well. Very nice workers. We had one slider that was a little tight and a swinging door that would swing on its own and they came out twice to make adjustments. No complaints or hesitations. After countless years of doing the latter I took the seemingly small step of having some of my single-paned windows replaced with double-paned windows. The first people I had out to quote the job were those associated with Home Depot. The second and final quote I had was from Save Energy Company. Now that I've had 2 sliding doors and 4 windows replaced by Save Energy I feel well -positioned to say why I was happy I chose them for the job: * After an appointment was made, a sales rep showed up on time, as scheduled. She gifted me a can of excellent window cleaner. Useful gifts are always nice. * The rep knew her business and didn't waste my time. The quote she supplied was competitive, the windows being recommended of high quality, and the warranty excellent. The fact that Save Energy has been around a while, along with many long-time employees and excellent reviews, made me confident in my choice. * Unlike the Home Depot rep, the Save Energy rep knew of a home-hardening grant to which she thought I may be entitled. In the amount of $5,000, my grant application is pending as I write this. It is clear that Save Energy knows the market they serve. * When ordering my windows I was told that there would be a small cost (tbd) associated with painting the outside of the smallest window a color different than the other windows. When that price turned out not to be as small as I'd been led to believe I decided to forego the modification. A short time later, the company owner stepped into the on-line conversation and offered to have that window painted at no additional cost to me. It's difficult to adequately express how happy this generous gesture made me; it was a simple solution which really turned the whole transaction into a joyous one. * Each time that Save Energy came out they were on time and left the workspace clean. I have many, many more single-pane windows which need replacing but for the time being, this $20,000+ investment is enough.
