He also agreed to use fiberglass tape because paper drywall tape has a tendency to bubble if not properly applied, which it has now. Moreover, the cause for drywall tape bubbling or cracking is almost always not enough mud under the tape or too much mud on top. This was not the professional job I expected.

After a quick Yelp search, we came across Elite Custom Cabinetry and Fidel was able to see what was already done and listened to what I wanted to do. He quickly understood what was needed, listened for any design input, even provided some options with regards to trim styles to be installed in between each bookcase. On the day of installation, just a few hours went by and the crown molding, various pieces of trim, and nearly perfectly matching baseboards were installed. Lots of little bits here and there were considered to truely give the appearance of a built-in library. The work was perfect, especially given where the starting line was. Even though the material was intact, pristine and clean. Eventually the owner accepted the material but at half the price. Afterwards I learn that it was illegal according to the California Consumer Rights Civil Code section 1723, which states that merchandise could be returned less than 30 days. I would not recommend ANYONE to purchase from a store that does illegal activity towards the customer. I think it outrageous that establishments like Adobe lumber operate illegally.

Javier flipped my kitchen and two bathrooms. His guys were good with framing but terrible with…read moreplumbing. In the upstairs bathroom, they had a problem with the toilet flange, and then poof! Problem solved! 5 years later, the flange was leaking and the ceiling downstairs is dripping. The toilet was glued to the floor with RTV and that was hiding a massive leak! Turns out they shoved in two wax rings on top of each other, and there was a cone that restricted the drain down to about 3". The cone prevented a flush from dropping immediately down the drain, and the wax ring sandwich leaked! The cone also caused a lot of clogs over the years. Now I have an almost $6,000 plumbing repair, I have to patch my ceiling, and I have a mold issue! There's never time to do it right, but there's always time to do it twice! I also found old cans of Modelo in my attic after the flip!
