I am writing to share some feedback regarding my recent visits to the Save Mart location on Whitmore Avenue in Ceres, specifically in the Deli Department. During multiple visits, I have had consistently negative experiences with an employee named Heather. On each occasion when she has prepared my sandwich, she has been noticeably rude, condescending, and appeared very unhappy in her role. For example, during one visit, I requested light mayonnaise after she had begun preparing my order, at which point she told me, "That's fine, but you need to tell me that before I start making your sandwich." At the time, no mayonnaise had yet been added. She then proceeded to add an excessive amount of pepperoncini--more than the portion of meat--and handed me my sandwich while rolling her eyes. I was fortunate during my most recent visit to be helped by another employee (a shorter Hispanic woman whose name I did not catch), who was kind, helpful, and professional. The contrast in service was very clear. After discussing this issue with two of my coworkers, who also frequent this deli, I learned they have had similarly unpleasant experiences with Heather. Since our nearby office visits this location weekly, we hope to see improvement in the customer service provided. I respectfully suggest that Heather either receive additional customer service training or be placed in a role that does not involve direct interaction with customers. Bakery staff isn't happy to help. I was in there today getting a cake for my daughter's birthday and the lady helping me made me feel rushed. I was asking her about the flavors of the cakes but her answers sounded very annoyed so I just got the best looking cake in the end. When I showed my receipt that I paid, they were quick to tape the box, and handed me the cake. I didn't open the box until I got home and it looked bad, I am so disappointed!! They ruined the cake with the lid and didn't want me to see it. I usually don't write review for supermarket but I have to give the Save Mart in Ceres Ca a 4 stars. Here are some of the reasons I gave them a 4 stars. 1) Looks: just look at them from the outside appearance, the sign and the awesome clean parking lots 2) Inside cleanness: When you walk into the Save mart here, you cannot tell the different between safe way versus Save Mart. 3) Options: the Food and grocery options is way better then any other save Mart stores I been to in the Bay Area. 4) Staffs: every one is so friendly and nice to all customers 5) Prices: the prices is very competitive then o th Er stores. Came in to grab a few things from the service deli, had asked if they had any dark meat fried chicken. They said they didn't have any left, understood, not a problem. The woman behind the counter said she was willing to make more if i was down to wait, due to her having to make more anyway. She told me it would be about 15-20 minutes. I had already gotten the other stuff i needed, but was willing to wait. I thanked her & said i would be back around in about 15, was gonna meander around & see if there was anything else i had wanted to kill time. Walk back to the deli, still no chicken, the man said "im sincerely sorry, but my coworker decided to go on her break rather than make the chicken" .... Be for real... i work a customer facing job also, totally understand needing to take a break. What i cannot wrap my head around is WHY she would have mentioned it in the first place then. I would give this a negative 5 star rating. I love save mart but they have betrayed me. They had the best tortilla chips ever. Coming from a hard core beans in the fridge Mexican family. I can vouch that these were the best chips in the valley. They were thin and crunchy and packed with the best saltiness around. If you put these up next to any and all salsas you would be crowned king or queen of salsa. They have now changed the chips and for the price can not be justified. I was very excited to order a fresh made deli sandwich as I was craving one on this hot sunny day. Once I got home I took one bite into my sandwich, my bread had mold on it. I was very unsatisfied. When I called the store to speak to someone in the deli department to let them know their bread was molded no one answered. I got transferred twice still was not able to get through to someone. Hung up called back again talked to someone in the service department he asked what bread was it and said they will look into it and to bring my receipt back to fix the situation. He did not apologize for the inconvenience just sounded like he was ready to hang up the phone. I live about 25 minutes away and will not be going back. In my opinion I think the situation was handled very poorly. Save mart talks about quality yet I received a sandwich with moldy bread. I am very disappointed. read more

Save Mart is a perfect example of new owner failure. Ever since the Piccinini family sold the supermarkets the store in Madera, CA has spiralled down hill...employee turnover, poor shelf stocking, continued out of stock items, discontinued items....expanded private lable items and diminished national branded variety.....I could go on and on. The fact that the Madera community lost its Pak N Save just reinforced Save Mart's ability to take advantage of its shoppers.....sure hope another supermarket comes to Madera to offer west Madera a shopping choice. read more

I like Save Mart but the DELI here on Whitmore Avenue in Ceres is the worst. The staff for some reason seems completely miserable and angry. I have only come across TWO staff members in 5 years who didn't have attitude and treat me like I was interrupting their day when I came in. I don't even bother getting anything in there any more. The last time did it for me. I don't know why, but everyone in this deli is unfriendly and act like they don't want to help you. Rude attitudes and very bad service. The Oakdale Road deli is much cleaner and the customer service is much better. Even though Whitmore Ave is much closer to me I will go out of my way to go back to the Oakdale Road location for their customer service. Where to start.... moldy produce, stale bread from the deli, lack of proper hand hygiene from raw sea food to the cooking grill without washing hands, the rude comments some of the younger checkers make to the bag person when a customer leaves (they love to body shame) . Although the Save Mart on Oakdale is way better because of its size this location with regarding just the staff gives them enough stars. I find most of the here staff here is very helpful and friendly. And they always have plenty of cashiers open. Walmarts, Safeways need to take notes on that! I just moved to the area and was pleasantly impressed with this supermarket. It's clean, has a wonderful fruit and veggies section and the meat department is ok (3 out of 5 stars here) I had one recently issue where I was standing in line for a while and no one behind me. When it was my turn the checker came in front of me and said "I'm closed". I was very disappointed with the way he just closed it and didn't say sorry. Since there was no one behind me he could have said I'm closed after you, but didn't. I only had 7 items so it wasn't that my cart was full. So in general the cashiers are friendly and professional and the store is clean and has many products. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever had the displeasure of coming to. I've recently begun taking care of my mother-in-law and this joke of a pharmacy makes it, quite literally, as difficult as possible to fill her prescriptions. I really don't like shopping at Save Mart but I have little choices in Ceres. I am in the store at 4:50pm n I want to purchase a rotisserie chicken they are on sale even better. Except the ones still left in warmer are from 12:09 pm how many of you know that they should be pulled every 4 hours. That's almost an hour later. Probably one of the least favorite Save Marts in my opinion. The variety is small and things are located in weird places. For example the cheese is in the freezer isle next to the wine behind glass doors? Took me forever to find. Then the cashier I dealt with today was kind of rude. I started with my wic checks and she just seemed in a bad mood after. I also had a separate order of groceries aside from wic and when I was done paying I usually get coupons and this cashier holds up my coupons, squints, and then proceeded to crumple them up and throw them away .. why?
