Nothing wrong with the food quality that stuck out to me, I just heavily dislike companies that don't welcome youth. I understand that you have a stealing problem (which is awful), but it deters customers when you act like we are all thief's. read more

It's a good store with a deli and bakery. It's newer and also has a pharmacy. Next to Canadian Tire.

My mom shops here all the time, and says it has good selection and prices but not a good meat counter. I just went here for the party mints and the pillow mints. As far as I know these things are canadian (one of those "ate them growing up and I'm not sure if I love them due to nostalgia or the taste") and they have them in bulk - brought em back with me to the US. Freakin' love those things. And they were super fresh. Extra star for that. Cashier was super friendly and didn't care that I was trying to exhaust the rest of my canadian change. read more

Well, I really stopped in because I was lost, but loved the store. It was clean and well-stocked. Kudos to a helpful staff, and Kayla(?), the sushi chef (!) who made my sushi in front of me...now that is fresh! It was excellent and under $7. Arigato. read more

We stopped in to grab picnic supplies on our way to Rathtrevor Beach. Huge deli with lots of baked goods and stuff. Weirdly, they don't slice bulk cheese though. Still, a very clean place with decent prices and pretty okay employees. No BFFs made, but they were at least civil. read more

I have shopped at the Parksville store for more than 15 years. I now have vascular disease in my legs. I asked for a wheel chair. They put me in the chair, put a green basket in my lap and walked away. I struggled to manage the chair while hanging on to the basket. Other shoppers asked to help me reach high items which was embarrassing. At no time did a store employee offer assistance. When I finally knocked over a display, I couldn't pick the items up so I abandoned the chair and my shopping. I was upset and in tears by the time I reached my car. If one of the floor employees had managed a cart for me, I would have been able to get all the items I needed in very little time. More attention to seniors with physical limitations is needed if your store is to be a comfortable place to spend my food dollars. read more

I keep going back for their excellent bakery and the eggs ("Country Golden Yolks"). More expensive since moving into an enlarged space. Selection only fair. I was looking for cous-cous but there was only whole wheat. Staff friendly but self checkout is a negative. A big company like Save-On could do more to maintain the employment base. The day I get to the checkout with a full basket and there's no human available, I will park my cart and go elsewhere. This is the second time I discovered that the website gave an inaccurate opening time. (7 .00am, should be 8.00) Annoying, as if I had known I could have gone elsewhere for breakfast supplies. read more

On two occasions purchased bread which after taking home found they were both moldy (Western brand). Lived with one BUT NOT TWO. On second occasion spoke with customer service who refunded the purchase BUT when I told her we had dealt with store for in excess ten years spending upwards of $175/$225 mthly and that we were closing our card she simply replied O.K. with not so much as a "sorry" or attempted to retained the business. Have found store lacking in any reasonable sort of service and numerous items especially in fruit/vegetable poor tasting/not suitable for eating once they were brought home. 17th July my wife went to buy prescription eye-drops necessary before cataract surgery. On the plus side SF was found to be the cheapest around Parksville at $87.00. However, she was shocked to find there was a $10.00 fee for each of the three items. These eye drops are pre-packaged and all that is required is to take them from the shelf, put them in a bag and ring up the charge. $30.00 just to do that is daylight robbery. Not to mention there is probably about five cents worth of active ingredient in each of these diminutive bottles. Answer: Shop around carefully before you buy. Maybe some places do not charge $10.00 fee. read more

I had the absolute worst customer service experience at the Deli Counter there on 15-02-03. The worker who was serving me seemed like she was in a hurry and that taking my sliced order meat was inconveniencing her. I saw her treat previous customers that way and was going to give her some advice about customer service. She sliced my meat in a rather quick and unsafe manner. I was at a loss of words by the time she gave me the meat and I forgot to say thank you. She then replied, "your welcome!" In an immature manner. I responded in kind to her stupid comment and then went to look for whoever was in charge of the store. The Manager gave me lip service that he would speak to her. I was not satisfied with his response and now I'm waiting for a phone call from a regional manager. I use to shop at Save-On, not anymore. read more
