I had 24 8mm tapes to digitize plus a VHS repair, but he went ahead and digitized that one on the house - and all this was complete within a week. It was super easy to get a quote to digitize some Hi 8 tapes we had. The drop off spot was very convenient at Pak Mail. The whole process took about a week. Our tapes were saved in a Dropbox folder for us to save on our own devices. They were very communicative and overall, it's was an easy process. I took 28 VHS tapes to Save Your Tapes and one week later they had copied them to a thumb drive and a set of DVDs and uploaded them to a cloud account so my family could also download and see family members and friends who are no longer with us and remember what great times we spent together many years ago. I had a mix of VHS and mini tapes (from old camcorders) that my Dad had hanging around and wasn't sure what was on them. As a surprise for Thanksgiving, I wanted to convert them for my Dad. My parents 50th wedding anniversary is coming up, and my sister and I decided to have the family VHS recordings transferred to a digital format to gift them. The dates of the tapes ranged from 1981 (over 35 years old!) to 1994, and some were filmed during family vacations around the world in not-the-best weather. We weren't sure if any of these could truly be save. Save Our Tapes went above and beyond the call of duty! They were able to save 98% of the recordings (2% didn't make it due to the original film being damaged from the initial recording) and transfer them onto a USB stick. James was extremely patient and thorough and checked in with me during the process despite having to work through close to 14 hours of recordings. They did a great job transferring 4 8mm video tapes to DVD and digital video files. The drop off and pick up location is a PakMail location. The person who is contracted with "Save Our Tapes" then comes into the store and picks up the tapes and makes the DVDs. Once they are done they are dropped off at the PakMail location for you to pick up. It was about $20.00 per tape. Make sure you put a title on each tape so they can put chapters headings on the DVD. read more

I am a procrastinator but am so happy that I finally took in my tapes to Save Your Tapes. The price is much better than other places that I've tried and the quality is GREAT! We have been watching old films since we got them and it's bringing back tons of great memories. The drop off and pick up is extremely easy. Leave yourself some time if you have a lot of films because it could take a few weeks. I will be taking in more films every month until I complete all of my video transfers. They did a good job of converting my early '90s VHS tape home videos to both DVD and USB flash drive formats. I hadn't viewed my VHS tapes in many years (when our last VCR broke), but I didn't notice any significant degradation in the quality of the digital formats video. James answered all of my questions in a timely manner before I gave him my tapes and kept me updated (via email) during his conversion process.
