As someone living on social security its ridiculous that it's cheaper to go to Walmart than to this "thrift store". They get everything used and for free and yet they price everything at new item prices. They have things priced at 3 or 4 dollars that Dollar Tree sells for $1.25. Next time you're at savers and you see an employee Taking clothes off the rack you will notice mainly one color tag, that will tell you what color is the following week. It's a shame how they price things here. You might as well buy something new than spend the same price for something used. Times are hard right now, and people are looking for deals to save money. I don't believe this place is going to help you achieve this. Unless they make some serious changes, you're going to spending more than you would at other thrift stores in the area. When I was there, they were selling a used desk easel that had paint and chew marks on it. They wanted $20 for it. I don't know how they find these prices, but it's frankly ridiculous. It is very disturbing & disappointing that , people who are in a very tight budget ...cant afford the overly ridiculous high prices at Savers . I called corporate customers service and was told the management at each store has to follow a pricing grid provided by corporate. Which is very wrong . All the items are donated and used and you can find a lot of this items cheaper and new at Walmart, the dollar store and the flea markets. I have donated good new items and furniture and it has never made to the floor " Wonder why " they never consider the conditions of any of the items...they just follow the grid and are gauging poor people on the inflated pricing . read more

The main good thing about this place: it smells much, much better than most thrift stores. So it's clear that they launder and clean the merchandise before putting it out for sale. That makes me feel better about shopping there. On the downside, however, are the exorbitant prices. Just as one example I saw a Walmart brand candle that was used being sold for five dollars. The same candle brand new from Walmart is three something. If you really dig around you might be able to find a good bargain here and there... But it would be very rare and probably not worth your time. read more

I frequent this location often and am usually pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well maintained. Always plenty of parking. My only complaint can be applied to all savers locations and that is I find the prices to be pretty high for used clothing. read more

this used to be a great place to shop, clean, organized, and priced right. while its still clean and organized it is one of the most expensive thrift stores I've been in. AND now they have 'self checkout only'. I think not. I don't work there, neither will I use self check out. that along with their now higher prices, I'll go elsewhere. read more

This store is much nicer than our Savers in Austin, TX! It is clean and well-organized. The staff is also very friendly. My husband and I found so many things we liked that we had to put some back because we would have surpassed our clothing budget. I see that high prices are a common complaint on the current Yelp reviews. I will say that the prices seemed slightly higher than the Goodwill down the street, but that store was dark, cramped and had a long line with only one cashier available. Perhaps the Savers prices have increased, but that is also a common issue here at the thrift stores in Texas. The $0.99 color tag helped us lower the average price of our items. Taking advantage of a discount day or one of their email coupons would be awesome! read more

Oh, I love a real thrift store. I don't mean 'vintage store,' where they charge four times what they charge in a thrift store for the very same floral dress from the '50s. I mean a real, honest-to-goodness thrift store where the good stuff is hidden in the racks of not-so-good stuff. It's the thrill of the hunt. The time it takes makes me feel I'm doing more shopping therapy than what I'm actually doing, so it's a mental thing. Plus, you can leave with a new wardrobe for under $100 if you do it right. This Savers is huge, with a large selection of decent clothes. There aren't too many good thrift stores in town, but this one stands out. It's a chain, but fairly new to LC. Like most thrift stores, the guy's selection isn't great. Guys seem to wear their clothes out rather than pass them on in good condition. They do have several rows of housewares and other random finds, and the jewelry rack up by the registers is pretty good. Plus, they have a savings program where you get a stamp for every $5 spent...you have to redeem those quickly though. Take a donation and get $ off your purchase... read more

Indeed large...indeed clean and easy to rummage...but some of the prices are CRAZY!!!!! You should never put an obvious Dollar Tree item on a shelf and ask for $2!! That is asanine!! I will visit again just to see if I could find a bargain because I love thrift stores and love the hunt...but I am sure I am more likely to leave empty handed. My mom and I are weekly shoppers at our local Savers is located in Las Cruces NM. (Probably spend too much time there) Recently we were informed that the donation policy has changed. We were told that for each donated bags we would receive a sticker for 5% off of our next purchase. We normally donate a couple of bags each week and receive a 20% off coupon which we normally use that same day. With the new 5% coupon we are receiving we can no longer afford to shop as often as we had in the past. We normally shop Mondays $0.99 day, Wednesday Senior day, Thursday's new tag day and Saturday after church. As of this week, we have not shopped once. You are losing our business. We have to donate 4 bags to get 20%, or 6 to get 30% Please bring the old 20 % coupon back. Thank you read more

This is one of my favorite thrift stores, the one I visit most often. I love the sales, and especially 99 cent Monday (on a chosen color sticker). I've found so many great treasures and clothes....some days I find nothing, and other days I get so lucky! It's never the same, because there's always something different coming in. The employees are friendly and helpful most of the time. Don't forget to donate something and get a 20% off coupon (good for entire purchase), it helps on non-sale days! They also have membership discounts (free to be a member), student, military, and senior discounts. They donate money to Candlelighter's Charity, which helps families with children who have cancer. I went to this store yesterday to check it out...I couldn't believe that the savers price tags were (much) higher than the actual price tags on some of the donated clothing! I asked an employee why the prices were so inflated and was told it's because of their 'color tag markdowns'. I'm highly disappointed, especially because the $$ from donated items is not given back to the community and only 23% goes to the Cancer fund they promote. read more

Yes the clothes are nicer and you can find brand names with tags but you can bet on paying a pretty penny for those items with tags, even if they are Walmart/Target brand. I only go on 99 cent days and 50% off holidays and even then I still pass on a lot of items that are too expensive after the 50% off. For instance today, I purchased a card box with a world map design for $5.99. There were other boxes for 3 times the size as that for $4.99 but the assistant manager wouldn't discount it. It even had a sticky top and eroding paper on the bottom which I pointed out, but no. You can be sure I'm calling back to speak with the manager about it. If you want cheaper prices, go to Habitat for Humanity or King's Treasure. The prices are way cheaper if you are willing to dig a little. read more

SAVERS=Shelves Are Very Empty!---Really! Sheesh! I stop by Savers and all the other thrift stores in town all the time. I don't buy modern made in China goods and so I am always looking for vintage housewares made in USA. But it is very rare indeed that I find anything worth buying at Savers. There shelves are some of the worst stocked of any thrift store in town. They seem to have a big clothing section but for anything else its hardly worth the time to stop. Its been many months since I've found anything worth buying. Furthermore, if the pricers happen to recognize anything as "old" it might suddenly get antique store pricing. The worst part about the Las Cruces Savers is the perfumed stench that fills the air from their "air cleaning machine". Sometimes it is so bad in the store that it has caused me to have an asthma attack forcing me to leave. If you have any lung issues I urge you to have some caution in this store. Why do they think that shoving out all that chemical air makes an improvement? It makes me sick. read more

I used to love this place now I'm just disappointed and disgusted with it. When the sales come up fore buyers to purchase items employees will hide the items to the side or put them on hold for themselves before anyone even has a chance to purchase them. If they know its worth summat you may see it until iy goes up for sale and it'll disappear again before anyone has a chance to buy it. They let family shop in the store while its closed. When I shopped at Savers in Phoenix and in El Paso, the prices were in line with those expected from a thrift store. This one is way overpriced. If it isn't on sale, it isn't worth it. I don't care what the brand is, paying more than $5 for used shoes is unreasonable. These are USED shoes! You don't know who has had their stinky feet in them! The ick factor alone demands that used shoes be priced low. Also, they often have things in there from Family Dollar they have priced higher than they were brand new. Really? If that's how good of an eye their pricers have, then that explains the pricing on everything else. This is something that needs correcting, because it is costing them money and it's pissing me off! They would find out they could be having much higher revenues on non-99 cent days if they lowered their prices. I used to love this store, however now not so much!! I used to go every week, take a bag or two to donate and get a 20%% off coupon. I would go in and buy more stuff right than and there. Now they don't do that anymore. Now you can donate and they give you this little card for 5% off? You can either use it right than and get 5% off (yes a huge drop from 20%) or you can donate again until you get up to 30% off. Every time you donate you get 5% off until you reach 30% off. It is not 5% per bag, your percentage goes up 5% per donation! So you would have to donate 6 times before you get 30% off. I used to always use my 20% percent off coupons because some of the clothes is really high priced for used, so with my 20% coupon I was getting a good deal. With this new system the store seems to be greedy. I used to drive, literally, across town to go to savers and use my 20% off coupon, spending a couple of hours in the store, but now for 5%?! That is not worth my drive. Maybe if it was 5% per bag with a cap of 20% or even 30% that might be worth it. Savers has really lost a customer in me. I will no longer shop there nor will I donate. My donations are truly worth more than 5%. I wash and fold them and they are not stained or torn at all. I have spent a lot of money there! I spend about 70.00 to 100.00 every 2 weeks! Savers has lost my business with this new way of doing things at a 5% increment. Smfh.... I live one block from Kings Treasure, I will go there and donate there from now on. read more

Today, I purchased $80 worth of merchandise from my local Savers in Las Cruces, NM. One of those items happened to be a $25 Dooney and Bourke wallet. It was leather and looked pretty authentic. I instantly fell in love and it was the perfect size to fit my passport inside (which I had been looking for something to put my passport in). Before I had gotten the bag of all my goodies home to be able to use, the wallet had lost its Dooney and Bourke duck emblem on the front. I was instantly shocked and sad that Savers had ripped me off of my hard earned money (I'm a college student so $25 goes a long way and takes me about 3.5 hours to earn). I jumped back into my car and headed back to Savers. Once I got there, all they said was that I could exchange it for $25 worth of merchandise in 7 days. I understand that the receipt and the policy have strict returns but when I purchase a faulty/broken item that doesn't work, I expect to be treated differently. I just spent eighty bucks, I doubt I'm going to find twenty five dollars worth of more merchandise. I didn't buy the wallet to decide that I don't like it and don't want it. I would have been happy to have the item in good working condition but since it was broken, I expected them to do something more. I understand no cash back but a gift card or something reassuring that I didn't just loose $25. In my eyes, Savers has STOLEN that money from me because they refuse to do anything about the faulty item. Savers has forever lost my business and donations. read more
