There are lots of great spices and spice combinations in different sized quantities here. Today I came for cinnamon and ground cloves. I didn't even have to look for it. As I came in the door a woman asked if she could help me find anything and took me right over to the correct shelf. She even knew the kind of cinnamon I wanted when I told her what I used to buy at Penzey's. I could have been in and out in about five minutes except for the single cashier. My wife and I found this shop as we were looking for a place that had varying spices for my mortar and pestle. We met the owner our first time here. I do not remember her name, but she was very helpful and knowledgeable. In my subsequent visits, I have discovered some spice mixes for making dips using sour cream. The seven onion is very tasty, as is the red pepper ranch. I have found my spice home! I like to both cook and bake, so this is a pleasant place to come for my general spice needs. Oh, and you can get any quantity you need, which is just wonderful. I will keep coming back, as long as they do not go away. read more

I love spice shopping here. Always find a new seasoning for meats, dressings or to sprinkle on my popcorn. I like that you can buy small bags so if you just want to try something new or test a recipe you haven't shelled out for something you won't use. The location and offerings get 4 stars but the manager lady there is always seemingly sour and the vibe is always like they are hawking your every move -is it just me ? Lol...3.5 stars. read more

I enjoyed my experience at Savory, it reminded me of Penzy's. The have a wide variety of spices and I was pleased to be able to buy my hard-to-find spices (i.e. Galangal, Thai bird chilies) and I like how they're organized by need (baking, sweet, bbq, etc). It's easy to shop and browse. I also received excellent customer service. The assistant manager welcomed me into the store and upon discovering that it was my first time, she gave me a quick overview of the shop. The staff are very knowledgeable about cooking and spices. Loving this cute shop! I went for the first time a week ago after hearing about it from a friend. I needed a creative gift for a friend and this was it! The owners are so helpful, knowledgable and great! They helped me make a custom gift box with 10 different spices that would fit my friend's taste. They were also more than willing to go above and beyond when I asked them to bottle each spice in the 2 oz jar--filling each one and putting the labels on by hand! I also grabbed a few smaller things for myself but will definitely be returning for more! Everything smells so delicious in there it makes me want to experiment with them all! My friend loved their gift and I found a new favorite spot to spend money--win, win! read more

What a GREAT little store for anyone who likes to cook with unique and hard to find spices. The selection wasn't overwhelming but the store was filled with spices I have looked all over for and the variety within each category was terrific. There are individual spices from around the world, spice mixtures, rubs, and MANY extracts. There is also a "locals" section where we picked up a wonderful jalapeno raspberry jam that available for sell. The staff was very friendly and helpful including making smaller containers of a couple of items I wanted. NOW, the downside. Made a special trip to check the place out, but was ignored by the lady working there. Only one other person in the store, and she didn't ask to help or see what I wanted. I walked around looking at everything waiting for her to acknowledge my presence or something, which she never did. Didn't see what I was looking for, so I left. Won't be back. read more

The shop is located in the heart of Rockbrook Village and has many things to offer from local products to everyday spices. The variety of spices range anywhere from beginning to expert cook. It is amazing the amount of resources one can use while walking around the spice shop figuring out what spices he or she needs for the next delicious meal to cook up. I loved browsing the grilling section thinking about all of the wonderful spices you can use during the hot summer months. I ended up purchasing ground ginger, yellow curry and Marsala spices. I had a delightful experience with the associate who helped me out while I was shopping around the store. He provided me advice on which spices I should try and which spices would be great for every day use. I really enjoyed the fact that you can have the associates pack up the spices in various sizes so you're not having to keep a large jar in your cupboard. Savory Spice is my adult version of a candy store. I love this place. Over the last couple years, I've almost entirely transitioned my spices to Savory Spice ones. The spices are fresher than the store. Debbie and staff is very knowledgeable and offers great suggestions for usage of spices. I've expanded my spices to include quite a few of the blends.
