We laughed, we cried, we sang along, I drank 6 dollar beers, I stood in line to go to the bathroom.. First off the theater is beautiful and older, It does have some nice updates and the smell of popcorn right when you walk in hit me pretty darn hard! I got my ticket on Stub Hub so the only staff members I experienced were the ushers and bartenders both who were fantastically kind. I love the Roger Ebert statue outside the theater a perfect intro to the theater and a perfect spot to take a thumbs up photo with everyone's favorite critic. I got 3rd row ticket for 15 buck on Stub Hub so my experience during the show was fantastic, but if you are hard of hearing I might actually sit up in the balcony cause it was pretty quiet where I was sitting. Seats were comfy and the sound was quiet but great! Bathroom situations in these old theaters is all the same, your going be waiting in line but once you get in, they are clean and nice! This was a fantastic experience.

This one of the few places I have not hit the unsubscribe button to. I want to know what is playing here. What they play at the theater is one of the reasons I am giving a 4 star rating. This is where I would love to watch all kind of classic movies or foreign films. That is just not what they play here. Maybe there is not an audience for those kinds of films. I remember checking their schedule once and it was all kids movies. I was fortunate enough to see Rushmore here. That was really amazing. Those are the kind of movies I would love to be watching here. Maybe some French New Wave or midnight movies. I know that Virginia Theatre's schedule is not dictated by my likes but I can always hope.

Based upon the great fun I had attending a Friday night show, I will be back for more. The theater itself next to the train tracks (duh), about 200 feet back from Broadway and across the street from the IGA/County Market liquor store, and you can park for free in that lot. Tickets are $15 each for Friday night shows, but less during the week. We got our ticket 30 minutes before curtain without a reservation. Do note, however, they only accept CASH or CHECK. They have free coffee and cookies (you can donate for this, also) in the lobby and a friendly staff. The players for the show we attended were really good, and had a lot of fun with the show. They were much better than your stereotypical community theater actors. The set design and costumes were excellent. This is a great date after an early dinner in DT Urbana and just a short walk from several good places to grab a quick, cheap bite. If the show is appropriate for kids, this would be a great place to expose them to theater, as the theater itself is tiny and you really feel like you are a part of the show.

Yay! What isn't there to love about a planetarium? (unless you're prone to motion sickness :-P) We visited at 9pm on a Saturday night for one of their Pink Floyd shows. The young woman selling tickets was very friendly, as was the gentleman (i assume a member of Parkland's faculty) who took our tickets and introduced the show. There were about a dozen other people of all ages in the dome with us. Plenty of seating. Show lasted an hour. Honestly, this is the best $6 you'll spend in the entire county. Talk about a great family friendly, friends or date night out, students, scout troops and more! Appropriate for those aged 1-101. My husband and I would like to see all of the shows they're offering throughout 2018 You can save $3 if you buy tickets to 2 back-to-back shows (total $9 per person). I think we'll do this next time. Facility was very clean and well-maintained. Big parking lot next to the planetarium. Three different shows are offered on Friday & Saturday night at 7pm, 8pm & 9pm; matinees offered during week beginning in June. Check Parkland's website for exact show titles. The staff is quick and efficient and works hard during concerts they can make drinks and serve everyone in a really decent amount of time. Great Concerts that are all reasonably priced. It is so good to have an event center here in Champaign, IL like the City Center, Space can be rented out as well for other events.

The bands who performed were Cold, Awake for Days, and University Drive. This was my first time attending a show here. I drove from out of town about an hour to get to this place. I used the map on the City Center's website to find the venue and the venue's parking. The map was easy to read and helped me find the place very easily. Very easy parking. I would consider this a medium size venue. It's larger than a small bar but smaller than a larger arena. It is small enough to still get that intimate experience at a concert. If you want to be as close to the stage as possible, be sure to purchase the "Party Pit" ticket. There is a barrier in between the Party Pit and the General Admission. I went with the Party Pit ticket to get as close to the stage as possible. The sound system sounded great for all three bands. The bar is good size and the service provided was good. No complaints at all. They also have some upper balcony seating, but I did not venture into that location so am unable to comment on it. December 1, 2019: I attended the Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip 20 Year Anniversary tour. Bands that performed were Static-X, Dope, Mushroomhead, Wednesday 13, and Raven Black. There were some sound system issues while 2 of the bands performed. The band members became a bit upset, but the venue/sound guys resolved them pretty fast. Rest of the show the sound was great. General Comments: The venue does a nice job of bringing in a variety of different music. Strengths include the size of the place. It is not too big and not too small. Nice bar that is well stocked (satisfied my IPA desires) and it provides good service. Great stage with a nice sound system. Security staff was very down to earth and accommodating. Areas that could be improved: While I never had to wait that long for the bathroom, the bathrooms are not that big for the amount of people that attend shows. Larger bathrooms would be nice to reduce wait time. Serving food during the shows would be a nice add as well. I'll definitely be back to future shows here.

The facility was setup nicely in several rooms and halls which made for a nice casual place to hang out with friends in several spots. The wedding hall itself had a nice view to the outside and was a good size to not feel excessively large, while also providing plenty of space to conduct the ceremony. The bar had a nice setup where the drinks are served in the corner and the remaining area can be used to socialize. The dining room was quite elegant and large with plenty of room for dancing. The food was very tasty and fresh. It tasted like the ingredients were locally sourced and I liked the minimal use of dressing and seasonings, instead relying a lot on the quality of the ingredients. I also enjoyed the care put into having nice distinct textures on the different elements of the dish and particularly enjoyed their version of risotto. Overall, great experience and I'd love to attend another wedding here again some day.

My husband and I went to the Champaign Country Club for the wedding of two of our friends. This is…read morea beautiful place to hold a wedding or special event. The wedding was originally scheduled to be held outside, but rain and winds prevented that from happening. The room that they used inside was gorgeous. It was large, well lit, and looked out on the golf course and pool area. The reception was held in the bar/restaurant area. Normally this is a large space, but the large wedding made it look small and crowded. The grand ballroom was where the dinner and dancing took place. This is a huge room and was used well to accommodate over 150 guests. The servers were efficient in bringing out our food. The food was very good and I would come here again for the food. The appetizers that were served during the cocktail hour were also tasty. Overall, this was a great place to hold a wedding.

They have face painting and games in the church yard. There is a car show at the firehouse then after dark there are fireworks.
