Each time she contacts me online it is with a different name. Why is it so many women think it is acceptable to use personals to get business I have no idea. I was incredibly stiff and sore after traveling and wanted both a massage and a stretch. The stretch labs were all booked out, and its impossible to get a last-minute massage these days. I was able to book with Bambee for a 12:30pm same-day Sunday appointment, and am so grateful she had openings. The place is no-frills but clean and welcoming. I had usually done thai massage on a padded floor, but she has a raised table that is very sturdy and larger than a normal massage table, with handles on the ceiling for when she uses her feet. Bambee is very skilled and understands pressure versus pain, when to push a stretch a little further or back off, and how to find all the right spots. So I decided (before she left the room the let me change) that I would not get a massage because I truly uncomfortable and it would be best for both of us. First thing she says is "oh no stay and I don't want a bad review." I was not going to write this review until afterwards her showing me the new policy sign and me politely saying "oh, I wish you would have posted this or told me about this before I came here." So she tried to justify and I totally understand, it would have been good to just know ahead of time, and she still was trying to get me back in but I refused at this point telling her that no this is very uncomfortable) and she got upset. So I just walked out to keep my peace and starts yelling. I normally go to my dedicated massage therapist but she was not in town today so it's not like I don't get massages or the type of table she uses would not accommodate me. I had a Thai massage from Bambee a few weeks ago and it was excellent. However when I went back I got a different massage therapist (Sangtip) who was not great, not even good. I booked a Thai massage but I mostly got a Swedish massage. She worked a little on my arms and legs but spent almost an hour repeating the same sequence back and forth on my back and neck. The room got chilly to me, no blanket offered. But the most frustrating and annoying thing was that she chatted in Thai to the therapist on the other side of the curtain. A few words here and there I wouldn't mind but this was an ongoing conversation and not relaxing. If you book here, Bambee is a must. the other therapist is nowhere near her skill level. The first time I was part of a couple's massage where I received basic western style massage with oil while my companion received a traditional Thai style massage (Nuat Thai). We were both very pleased My companion had just returned from an extended stay in Thailand and commented that Bambee truly provides Nuat Thai as one would receive there in Thailand This week, I returned and signed up online for the "Thai medical massage." This style includes a lot of pressure point work along the energy meridians. As a student of Hapkido and an acupuncture patient, I'm familiar with this concept Bambee was very thorough in beginning at my feet and working up to isolate the pains I've been experiencing as coming from my lower back. She is so intune with the human body and within minutes was able to find my problem areas. She worked on the areas with acute pain/tenderness but also was able to coach me about the other tightness in my body that is adding on to all the stress in my shoulders. I was born and raised in Thailand and basically got a massage there every other week for years so I know more than a thing or two about Thai massage. I have issues with tight neck/shoulders because of work. I've had a few massages in the past (not a ton), and they were fine, but never really helped with my main issue. I was curious to try it because Sawasdee Nuat Thai recently moved in next to Salon Austin, where I get my haircuts. I had overworked my back yesterday in my art studio and had a very tight, achy lower back, so today seemed like the perfect time to try it. Despite reading up on the internet about Thai massage before going, none of the descriptions captured a true sense of it. It's unlike any other. I would describe it as a combination of being put into various intense stretching positions while corresponding muscles were pressed. Some of it was very uncomfortable, even painful but moments after the release of each area, there was a feeling of having been lengthened and restored to a flexible, free state. In short, I loved it. I also found Bam to be delightful. She was attentive as well as skillful and made sure to check to make sure the pressure was never too much. I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and being overweight. Usually I can soldier through it with the help from my prescriptions, but now and again I really need a deep massage. The problem is that you generally have a hard time just walking into a massage place in Austin. Most either want pre-scheduling or they charge extra for rush appointments. I noticed that this business allowed same day appointments so I gave it a shot. I was not disappointed! Bambee had scheduled me for an hour deep tissue massage. I showed up a bit early, so she just got a quick rundown of my problem areas and started the massage. She really worked over my muscles, leaving them much less painful and tense then when I first arrived. It was probably one of the best deep tissue massages I've had. Not only was Bambee a great LMT, she also worked until my scheduled appointment time was over. Which means she basically gave me almost a 90 minute massage for the price of a 60 minute one. She was more concerned with making sure I felt better than with the clock and that means a LOT. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend you give her a chance to help you too.
