Love the concept here but the remarks from Heidi have ruined it for me. She is rude. Rude to the kids, to the parents and to her employees. This is not new. She has been like this every time we have visited but I'm finally done. We came with a group and any time they wanted to use some creativity she huffed and puffed and made them feel like crap! My kids were nervous and insecure to continue their projects! This is not how I want my kids to feel when creating! I know it's hard to let go of control when your kid is going rogue with design ideas but that's the business you opened...for kids to build and design and use their creativity. Every parent in our group remarked at how stressful the experience was. Perhaps she'd do better working with adults, but her behavior toward children is very upsetting. A few families did not even join us because of previous experiences with her. read more

I've been coming here over 5 years now & love, love, love it! !! I've booked Birthday parties, several Girl Scout Field Trips, & a Volleyball Team Party here. The kids always have tons of fun, the parents always happy, and everyone ends up going home with an adorable project! In response to the ONE negative review: I understand the frustration of feeling that your child had not been able to express themselves creatively, but this is not a place where you are given a blank canvas & a paintbrush. I've witnessed adults and kids be upset when their projects didn't look like finished example on several occasions, but they were the ones who choose their own colors/designs/didn't want the staff's help. And any time you take 40-50 people anywhere you're going to have a stressful, unhappy experience. I've always had a great experience with a group of 12 & under. read more

Call in advance to make sure it's not too crowded and reserve your spot. My teacher friend arranged a playdate for my friends and our kids here. I immediately fell in love with it!!! What a fun day we all had!!!! I even participated with making 3 gifts for family and my son's own airplane. We arrived on a free paint day, so be sure to sign up for their emails and to be notified of these dates. Great to come here when it's not so crowded, as you can take your time making your crafts. There are so many ideas to choose from, bedroom sigsn for kids, grandparent garden picks and signs or pots, wreaths, holiday themed ideas, etc. It was a bit overwhelming for me. Once I decided on making these seasonal clay pots that I could make a holiday theme and change out seasonally, I got underway with some tremendous help from the staff!!! They are amazing and so patient!!! I was told the hand prints on the walls/murals are from everyone who has had a birthday party here. There is even a gift shop near the other entrance to check out. The etiquette here is this: try to stay neat and tidy, clean your mess as you paint/go, monitor your kids and everyone has a wonderful time, but can still let loose a little, creatively, of course! Once you enter, confirm your reservation, you're directed to the section you get to pick your wood figurines/ideas Then, choose a table and empty tray you'll place your finished colored pieces onto Select your colors one at-a-time on a paper plate, if colors are still on their table already available, use those, so not to waste the unused paint from other artists. If you don't finish all your color, you will just put the plate onto that table as well for another user. The BEST ideas for me incorporated my son's hands traced onto a piece of wood and the staff take that away to another working studio with the more cautious-needed equipment to be cut out. Once painted, you stand in line at the sponge/dots/spray station and the final touches with colors are added to your items. It can take some time here, depending on how much sponge/texturing/shadowing you'd like to do, and Melissa, I believe, was the one who added the fine details to my St. Patrick's Day theme-ed gifts on this visit. From here, we can take our items to the fan station, to help hurry the paint to dry... and finally, the Embellishment station, where everything is assembled and buttons/bows are added. They added the moss into my pots, keep the hot glue gun here for the staff to assemble the items and make sure children are away from these.The final touches really put together our items so well!!!! In the end, 3 hrs spent, with 4 adults, and 6 children. For my items, I selected two clay pots, traced 2 hand cutouts of my son's, four medium clovers, about 6 smaller clovers, and my son's wooden airplane. The final photo shows one of the finished gifts I'd made and all my items cost $45. Amazing!!! To make such priceless gifts. I thought I could return to make more holiday designs to easily replace the St. Patrick's Day sticks/display on the clay pots. I highly recommend this place!!!! Can't wait to return! read more

The cutest little factory ever!!! I booked this place for my daughters 7th birthday, we wanted to do something different and creative and this was more than perfect!! I was really amazed and blown away by the great experience we had. My daughter & her friends had the best time here and were all very happy to be able to leave with their new farm animal and it's own home!! The two lovely staff who I sadly cannot remember their names were great instructors! Everything was on schedule and not rushed at all which I loved very much. We definitely felt like we can enjoy ourselves. There was SOOO much to do that the kids were busy and entertained the whole entire time. Another thing I loved was the personalized bday sign with her name on it. 3 of our lil guests were unable to attend but so we wouldn't lose out on the extras we were able to have some of our big guests take their place! Which was really nice! During opening gifts, they have each guest (lil ones) take turns on sitting on the bench with the bday girl while she opens their gift (super cute! Wow! Absolutely loved my experience here & plan to come here for a wine & paint session! My review is based on a birthday party event that I just recently had for my 9 year old daughter . The whole experience was great! This is such a great idea for anyone who loves arts & crafts ! Let break down my experience : Booking : Super easy and seamless! I planned a week in advance ( super last minute ) , and they were very accommodating . They have an online booking service that requires a deposit & allows you to choose between the different themed parties & the size of your party. Follow Up: Next business day, Heidi called me and confirmed all details . I met with her in person to get an in person tour and a run down of what I were to expect. She was very informative & explaining and answered all of the questions I had .she asked if i couldn't follow up within 3-2 business days before party date on the final confirmed amount of painters. Birthday Party : it ended up starting at around 230 instead of 200 because many of my guests had no shown up. I was a little nervous and stressed as I know there is a schedule that must be followed , i apologized to Heidi . And she completely understood and told me not to worry about a thing and that we would start at about 230 to give everyone time . She put me at ease and was super accommodating about the whole thing!! She was such a great host as well as all of the other helpers like Charlene, Jessica & Susan! All girls had beautiful personalities and were very interactive with all of my guests . Heidi even let me take an extra bowl with a fish along with the assembly for an aquarium since 1 painter didn't show, this was very generous to me . ART: 2 thumbs up! The kids absolutely loved their aquariums and were super thrilled they could put fishes inside to compliment the experience . It was such a great idea ! The parents really enjoyed it & I did receive positive feedback on how great the idea was & they planned to come back in the future ! Experience : 5/5 amazing !! I love bringing my almost 3 year old son here. We first stumbled across this place on a field trip while I was taking him to a Mommy and Me class. The first time we went it was last Halloween to make a hand print wreath as a class group project. This year I decided to bring him back myself on one of their workshop fee free day and it was amazing! You get there and pick any project you want to do (they have samples set up all over the front 2 rooms) , once you decide they will bring out the wood pieces for you. From there everything is numbered on the wall , get your fancy painting aprons on (they have kid and adult sizes) , grab your paint (they have a wall of colors to choose from) and start your project. When you are done, you move on to the next section where one of the ladies will help decorate the projects , then onto blow drying the pieces and finally a section where they put your project together for you. The ladies are always around when we needed help and will come check on us periodically to make sure we were doing okay. There is no time limit which is amazing so we didn't feel rushed and could actually enjoy the experience. Prices are very reasonable, given they provide everything (apron, paint, decorations and such) We did 2 projects and came out to a bit over $30. I would say their projects average $12- $18. I forgot the ladies names as I am very bad with my name memories (sorry) but they are amazing and friendly! so helpful too!! Amazing, amazing place! I took my daughter and granddaughter here this past Saturday. We had such a blast! The owner, Heidi, is very friendly and helpful. She was so kind to us and especially to my granddaughter. We all loved the projects we completed. My granddaughter did a unicorn room sign and put it on her door as soon as she got home. I had for a long time, not wanted to go here, only because I thought that it was the same ol, paint some pressboard wood pieces and you have your ornament kind of place. My MOMS Club had an outing here and I felt bad that they needed more people to go, so I signed up. Boy, i'm glad I did! Since my daughter was in school that day, my friend told me to trace her handprints on a piece of paper and they can cut them out if needed. So I went there not knowing if I was or wasn't going to buy anything, and oh my gosh! I'm hooked! I love this place... There are all these wood cutout pieces and projects for you and your kids- the owner has all these parties that you can choose from that will keep your children busy for parties, and they also have an area that you can work if you just walk in. I ended up buying 3 really cute large items that I painted and took home as gifts. They cut out a bunch of handprints to make into a Christmas Tree, and holly leaves. I believe the charges are by painter, $5.00 and whatever project you do. I would say, w/ a child, each project is about 1 hour, if you want to take your time. The prices charged comes w/ button and ribbon embellishments, writing for the signs and speckle paint as well. I took my daughter back the other day, and she fell in love with it, we ended up doing 2 projects instead of 1. Great for a rainy day! You can walk in or with a group, make an appt.- their hours are great too- 10-5 most days and weekends too. What I liked is that the paint colors are limited to a couple of shades, primaries and white, brown, etc. so you don't get overwhelmed, and then there are alot of samples to choose from. I went here recently for a Sunday night birthday party. I thought the idea is very clever and cool for kids. The kids got to choose their own wood craft from a variety of options: surfer, guitar, race car, etc. The kids first painted their wooden pieces, then went to a different station to add flare (i.e. glitter, buttons, etc.), and finally another station to assembling it all together. I thought the whole thing was pretty well organized and the kids had a lot of fun. I always like the of having kids make crafts they can take with them. I love this place, you can make some super cute projects here. They have pre-cut wood pieces of any shape imaginable and you can combine them to make anything you want. You can even trace your kids hand or foot and make something with it. You basically choose a project you want to make, I made 3 angels using my daughter handprints as the wings, you paint the pieces and they help you add the details. I am glad they did the details for me, since I am not much of an artist. There is a $4.00 sitting fee and my project was around $12 a piece. Not too bad, I thought. I left with some very cute keepsakes. Definately worth going, but call before hand because sometimes they have school groups there and it can get very busy. Visited Sawdust on a Kinder field trip today and the Staff was super helpful and very attentive with the chaos that only 60 Kinders can bring. Plenty of paint and paint brushes to go around. This place is a heck of a lot of fun. It is pricey, especially for a family of 4-5, it can add up fast, particularly if Mom and Dad want to do a craft too (which they do! - lol). We discovered this place maybe 4-5 years ago and it's become an annual family tradition. We've gone every year. The kids are now 3, 7, and 9.
