The rooms are well appointed, I love the fact there's a convection job and a microwave in there - I can make my dinners and eat somewhat healthily when away from home. There's a full size fridge and freezer too, perfect for storing my mountains of salad and boiled eggs. The beds are comfy, no trouble getting a good night's sleep here. The hotel also has a reasonably priced laundry facility, there are only 2 machines but I've yet to have a problem getting access to one when I need it. A small gym is great for getting your fitness game on, and! There's a steam room and hot tub. The staff are also most accommodating. Great hotel!

Shouldn't a beef burger taste like beef?? Poutine was a paltry smothering of dark pre-packaged gravy and a smattering of mozzarella cheese on top. Ok, if you're going to insult authentic poutine by using mozzarella, at least dole it out liberally with gusto and enthusiasm!! Quebecers would revolt en mass if they only could see this dish. Tiny little strands of cheese hopelessly disconnected from each other in what can only be assumed as a desperate attempt to save 35 cents per dish... they reminded me of pathetic pictures in high school of sperm swimming hopelessly towards a goal that they knew was almost 100% un-attainable. tiny white shrivelled things lost in a sea of dark gravy hopelessness. But the pickle was good. Honour to whom honour is due and all that. Alas, the tomato was shrivelled as well, as though embarrassed by the feeble attempts of the cheese shreds a few inches away. I looked morosely at the desert menu and decided to pass as the lady next to me had only taken two bites out of her chocolate cake and then seemed to either lose interest completely or had a sudden health urge. I decided to try a different hotel than usual when I was in Peace River and tried this place…read more Hmmmm it was....sketchy. The room looked decent enough, however the halls had paper and other pieces of trash here and there and I was questioning the overall cleanliness. The ladies I dealt with at the front desk were polite and helpful. Because of the issues mentioned above, I'm not too sure about the housekeeping staff. There is a pub attached to the hotel (plus 1 star!) and a restaurant beside that (plus 1 star). Those sneaky folks put me in a room with a fully stocked bar fridge, forever tempting me. Did somebody call ahead and tell them that rum and I are very close friends? Overall, the cleanliness was the main issue for me, and since I'm staying there, that's a big one. Yuck. Another classic Western Budget…read more The rooms are past an upgrade by about 30 years. Dark, dingy and haven't had an upgrade since the building was put together. The beds are low to the ground and lumpy. They have Wi-Fi if you're lucky enough to connect. You're better off using dial up though. At least their is a restaurant and pub in the parking lot, that's really the only reason for the 2 star rating. I guess I'll go drink until I forget I'm staying here tonight. Will be emailing the office tomorrow to have this place removed from our places to stay for staff in the area.
