Very very disappointed in this establishment seeing as I put some much trust and money into them…read more My first visit was a consultation for a broken tooth that ended up having to be extracted during that appointment I did cry because I'm only 20 and that was my second time needing a extraction on a molar tooth (the first time at this specific dental office). The people who were working on me as well as in the office seemed very understanding and and nice and I felt bad for crying about worrying about paying for my first extraction there which was around $500 (I don't have dental insurance) anyways during that appointment my dentist noticed another tooth about two teeth behind that one had some issues and that I would need a filling he told me if I didn't get the filling soon that I would need it extracted as well so I got that appointment set up and got on a payment plan for that one (around $360) this was about three months ago and that filling has since fallen out while brushing my teeth but during my appointment to the first filling I was told the same tooth on the opposite side of my mouth had the same issue "but not nearly as bad and that it would cost much less" it was around $260 for that one and it failed within 3 days I was in extreme pain and went back in which is when they told me it had failed and that I had an infection (later ended up in the emergency)and that I would have to have it extracted during this interaction my dentist admitted he made a mistake by never x raying that tooth and that he could transfer the $260 I paid for the filling over to the extraction and that I could just pay the remainder but when I asked for a refund they said they would call to work it out with me ( I have never received a call from them since) they prescribed me a antibiotic and I told them I was going to try and get another opinion and I went to a new dentist and found a way to get a root canal on that tooth the dentist office who did the root canal has told me they could never get ahold of the old dentist office and when we went in to talk to them they said nobody was there to help us and they would have someone call back (we have still yet to receive any sort of phone call) I am still paying on the first filling that failed and I also found out in the emergency room that the antibiotics they prescribed me were generally used for people with chlamydia and lung infection (what a very shocked and confused nurse told me)which is why I was only getting worse and ended up in the er. The Christian persona and mission work he does apparently don't extend to his practice. Last year, I had a crown that fell off and my dentist recommended that I see Dr. Campbell to make sure there wasn't a problem with the root canal that Dr. Campbell had performed prior to the crown being put on. I was in a lot of pain, but when I contacted his office, I was told he was going out of town on a mission trip and they would not let me see the other doctor in the practice because I had originally seen Dr. Campbell. So I had to wait 24 days to see him, in pain the entire time. When I finally got in, they took x-rays (and refused to request the existing x-rays from my dentist). They then performed a CT before I even saw the doctor, but when I questioned this, I was brushed off and just told that the doctor would go over everything with me. When I finally saw Dr. Campbell, he looked at the x-rays only and told me that everything looked great. I specifically asked if he could tell everything from the x-ray and was told yes. When I asked why the CT was performed, he only then looked at it and just said again that everything was great. He then walked me to the front office, handed off my chart and left. It was then that I was informed that I owed $150 for the CT because insurance never covers them. I said that is not acceptable at all for several reasons. The first is I hadn't even seen the doctor and he hadn't looked at any x-rays to see if a CT was even warranted. Secondly, I should have been told that the office would like to do a CT scan, but that insurance wouldn't cover it, and asked if I would be okay with that. The fact that it was just done and I was told after the fact that it wasn't covered and hit with a large bill is very deceptive and even unethical. At this time, I asked to speak with Dr. Campbell to let him know that I couldn't believe that I was being charged and expressed that things should have been done differently. His response was that it was needed for diagnostic purposes. I replied and said at first you didn't even pull up the CT until I asked about it and had already told me that you could see everything from the x-rays. He said that is just the way our office does things. However, their own website says of the CT scan, "Dental Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient." Since the x-ray had not even been reviewed, they could not have known that they would be insufficient (when by Dr. Campbell's own words, they were sufficient), thus the CT scan should not have been performed. A few days later, I wrote Dr. Campbell a letter, expressing my disappointment in the way the entire thing was handled and his response was "Roger that, sorry to lose you as a patient. My standards are my standards which are very high apparently compared to your value in my expertise and your dental health." There are lots of good endodontists in the Houston area - find one that doesn't perform procedures that he knows will not be covered and are of questionable necessity without even bothering to talk to you about the financial impact of his practices on you. We all know that performing the CT did not cost him anywhere close to $150, but keeping that profit was more important to him than his patient.

I got a tooth extracted $344 and paid half the price for a bridge, total of $1255. I was supposed to go back 3 weeks later and would have paid another $1250 to get bridge installed. I cancelled 3 days after my first appointment and asks for a refund for the remaining $900 since I wasn't going to be getting the bridge after all. 10 1/2 weeks later, after calling the office over 25 times and getting the run around from every person I spoke to, they were only going to refund me $285. They billed my insurance for the bridge immediately after the initial visit, even though they weren't going to give it to me for another 3 weeks and didn't bill my insurance for the actual tooth extraction, even though that's what they actually did during my visit. The dentist gave me 5 shots for the tooth extraction and then asks me which tooth he was supposed to pull, after I could even feel my face.
