While I personally didn't find anything that I needed to have in there, it's a very nice little shop with lots of powerful air conditioning, and a nice lady who was happy to let us stroll through, checking out all their wares. They have a large selection of local artists, doing cool and innovative things! They have a variety of media- jewelry, accessories, stuff for the kitchen, closet, and paintings. The shop was clean, and parking is easy! The prices were quite reasonable, and all the stuff was quite interesting. This shop is of many cool little art galleries along the main drag in Rockport. It's a fun way to get some culture in while you're at the beach!

They do a really cool technique where they print the photos on metal, so it has a timeless, permanent look to it, with a metallic sheen to it that makes the colors on the birds and other wildlife just pop! They have a whole gallery here in the Arts District of Rockport. They show off a bunch of other cool, local crafts and stuff for your home. Keep an eye out for all the wind spinners out in front of the place. They'll get your home transformed into a Texas beach house in no time! The gallery staff is quite friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable, considering the time and effort that goes into each of these photos, and the process of printing them on metal. When asked how the photographer gets some of these incredible shots, she always responds, "Patience, luck and a little magic is the key to my success." Parking is usually pretty easy at this gallery, and they have park benches out in the shade, where you can watch the traffic go by, and adjust to beach time. It's a wonderful place where there's plenty of shade out front, with a good breeze that powers all of the wind spinners out front. I suggest you check it out!

Ryoichi Suzuki's sculptures were such a wonderful surprise, and I'm so excited that Susie Black will be the featured artist at the festival in July! I'm so thrilled to now own this sunglass case. It's too beautiful to use! The student art display was another highlight--there was a piece on cats and another on dogs, and I adored both. The detail in each work was amazing. These young artists are incredibly talented. I can't wait to go back. I'm also including a video of the area and some of the beautiful murals that surround the art center, so you can see the whole area and get the whole experience. What a wonderful place to visit! This coastal-themed gallery is in a nice little retail space, right across from the Winery on the Bay in the Rockport Arts District. They keep regular hours, but they also have a monthly Arts Walk that the Arts Council coordinates, and they stay open late, serve up some wine, beer and cheese, and show off their greatest works! I really enjoyed the nautical themed paintings, as well as the ones of the local Aransas County wildlife. They also do frames, which look really neat! The owner, Mike was super friendly, let the dog come on in too! The shop was super clean, well lit and fun to visit! Rockport has a reputation for being a funky arts town, and this gallery does a great job of representing!

Yatahey! This authentic Native American jewelry store is a…read moregem of a shop! They specialize in Southwest Native American jewelry- all authentic wares with real turquoise and other gems and stones. This shop only sells the real deal merchandise, and they can prove it! They've got certificates of authenticity, and disclose who the artist is. There's apparently a big trade elsewhere in fake Native American art, coming in from the Far East and the Middle East. The proprietors of this store are on top of things, and personally warrant that their stuff is real, authentic and legitimate. Other vendors in NM sell their stones that are really t glass, plastic or rosin. Apparently, even seasoned buyers can get fooled. Don't worry about that here at the Turquoise Eagle! The store is run by father and son, and you can tell jewelry goes back a long way in their family. They obviously know what they're talking about, and come from the reservations or pueblos of New Mexico. I grew up going to a lot of these pueblos, and I can personally attest that they've got some magnificent examples of the artwork from the different tribes. They also sell Native American goods, like items for ceremonies, dream catchers, CDs of chanting and singing. It's such a cool store with some beautiful jewelry.
